Avid political and current events junkie.
A child of boomers, military family history, with liberal but traditional minded parents.
Grew up with parents who worked for, been apart of the armed forces or were contracted by the government. Politics has always been apart of my life one way or another. As a young adult I was taught by my parents who worked for the same government, to always question it. That was the right, the belief, and the duty that was taught to me. To do other wise was a waste of a freedom few around the world can do. Its something a lot of us take for granted as citizens of the United States which I think some have ignorantly forgotten.
I, like some of my peers, could have chosen to ignore the world that goes on outside my window and live in my little bubble of life that doesn't extend out beyond state lines very much. But I chose to engage, question, reform, and put forth the ideals of what I was taught early on. The rights, principels, ideals, and the bloody history of a young but hopeful nation where the belief of a system who worked for all the people of the United States and not just some privileged few.
I can go on being a young adult who is an artist and ignore everything that's going on in America.T o be fearful of the ever changing world and live with not just a force feed fear of nations that we ignorantly choose to not even talk and learn from. But to even fear a system put in place to protect not just my right to my freedoms giving to me by the Constitution but everyones.
Look outside the box.
Reach out and face the unknown.
Don't fear change but recognize it and adapt.
Always question. To not is to remain stagnant and turn away from those who in the past and to this day creates the nation in which the rights of every citizen have the capability to question and change for what we see is a better future for the Nation.
Its a lot of work, people's blood, tears, and backbone to hold on to this nations freedoms. I think its worth trying to hold onto and to possibly, if given the chance, to improve upon.
