"Appeasement": Guilt-By-Analogy... When Guilt-By-Association Isn't Enough

Let's get this straight once and for all. TALKING is talking. Not the same thing as dropping your pants and bending over. TWO different things. Chances are that Chamberlain didn't spend enough time TALKING to Hitler. Had he done so things might have turned out differently. Obama is absolutely right. So many mistakes are made simply by poor communication. Even if you totally disagree you first have to learn to communicate and that begins with TALKING, and lots of it. posted 05/16/2008 at 21:56:20

The Police Announce Their Final Show

Who gives a s---. Sting is a twit. A successful twit but his opus of interesting work is about two song long. Now when David Bowie gives it up I will be upset. posted 05/06/2008 at 21:51:33

Thoughts on Pennsylvania, Clinton and Obama from a "Realisticrat"

Respectfully, I think that you're wrong. Nothing is going to energize the Republican base more then a Clinton candidacy. Otherwise they'd be defecting in droves with McCain as their choice. And Clinton, no matter what her merits are as a human being, is not an appealing candidate. The amazing thing about this election cycle, if you step back and look at it, is the devolution, the swirling around the drain, of the thing. posted 04/22/2008 at 23:38:15

McCainomics: A Double Dose of the Same Poison

Look, I can't think of anything anywhere anyhow that we've improved, let alone imploded, as a country in the last eight years. Unless McCain can dramatically differentiate himself from Bush there's no way that he SHOULD win even given the Democrats miserable record of incompetence in national elections. But when it comes to the Democrats never say never. I suspect that they will find a way to lose. Here's an ugly theory but one to think about: there's a big chance that we're going to have a downturn in the next four and whoever is in office is going to be blamed. It's going to be tough sledding. I'm thinking that the Democrats are looking for another 1929 and another supercycle and would be happy to sit the next four out. Let Obama lose but get his name and persona out there. posted 04/15/2008 at 22:30:45

Here We Go Again

170 comments and counting, wow you've touched a nerve. Obama was guilty of stereotyping, a point that I'm sure he'll readily concede. But let's start with the big picture: the people in question have been sold out. I don't know how you speak to their mindset but I doubt that optimism, among other positive feelings, is prevalent. In the course of a campaign a few misteps are inevitable; Hillary is still way ahead in that department. posted 04/12/2008 at 21:25:39

Andrew Sullivan: Bush Administration Officials Will Be 'Indicted For War Crimes'

Hey, it's the sheep here. We are all complicitly guilty. We all sat back and watched it happend beginning with the BIG OBVIOUS LIES leading up to this fiasco. Live in sleep counting sheep. Not one decent protest. Sad what we've become. posted 04/09/2008 at 00:11:41
