I'm an artist who recently moved to Memphis, Tennessee, #2 on Forbes' new list (2/6/09) of America's Ten Most Miserable Cities. Here's my 2/10/09 comment to the Forbes.com article:
"This article is not one I would ordinarily have read (I'm not much into lists), and I really only scanned it. I read all of the comments, but those on Memphis most closely because I moved here a year ago and they gave me windows into Memphis from the perspectives of people who know the city firsthand. Los Angeles is my birthplace, where I grew up, and where I raised my kids. I love L.A.and I carry it with me wherever I go. I spent 15 years living on the Monterey Peninsula, on California's Central Coast. I love that area too. It's where I developed a love for hiking and outdoor life that settled in comfortably alongside my L.A. core. And I now love East Memphis. It's beautiful. The people are friendly. And everything I can possibly need is never far away."
