Bio
Full-time artist, retired from a progressive US corporation.
Voted for Reagan, who I still think was the right president for his time.
Vociferously opposed to the Bush neocons, who represent an extremist coup rather than conservative politics. "Conservative" to me means MYOB, not caring about what people do in their bedrooms or who gets married to whom -- and fiscal responsibility. Bush has created an intrusive, un-American statist administration in the Chinese pattern, undermined science (with creationist drivel and censorship) a gigantic debt and a war, based on lies and a schoolyard bully's concept of foreign policy.
For the first time in my life, I've changed registration from "independent" to Democrat.
Lesson learned: stripping away all regulation and letting business run the country is dangerous to capitalism and everyone else -- even the children of the crooked businesspeople. Time to end ideology and work out practical, humanistic social solutions.
Another lesson learned: a society's most important value is its people, not its capital or military power.
Enthusiastic Obama supporter. He's precisely what the country needs. Amazing leader, able to outspend the money boys by actually energizing millions of us who give small donations. First major political leader I've really trusted for some time now.
Life and society should be full of creativity, enjoyment and exploration of our planet and the universe. The talents of billions are wasted, our most important job as a species is to fix that.
