I consider myself to be a reformed member of Corporate America. I am Professor and attorney with a PhD in ILR. I have seen the corrupt practices of Corporate America from the inside and I know that the people running these organizations are looking out for nobody's interests but their own. I worked in Human Resources Management for much of my career, but now represent employees and am a strong supporter of the labor movement. As a Professor I am dedicated to getting students to think beyond the profit imperative and to think in detail about the role that businesses should play in our society. I also strongly believe that the two keys to our economy are to first insure a greater level of equality, and second to assure that all individuals human rights are met (i.e. the right to meet their basic needs, the right to education, the right to health care, the right to freedom of association and the right to self-determination). I feel that President Obama is on the right track, but needs to be bolder in his direction. I learned in the course of my dissertation that you cannot attempt to make small changes to appease those who oppose you, they will oppose you just as vehemently as they would if you took bold steps. Be bold, do what you know is right.
