I'm an attorney who's lived in Southern California for the last 12 years. I believe that the last 7 years have done more damage to the US's reputation than in the last 231 years of this country. It has been personally very depressing for me, and I've been very angry. Before 2000, I never would have thought that Republicans were evil, pathological lying charlatans, but now i do. But I now see hope for the first time in a long time, and believe this next year or two is crucial to try to turn things around. Hope springs eternal.
