What Will A Clinton "Victory" Feel Like?

Oh puleeeez... How over the top dramatic. Be grateful that we have two great candidates, either one of which will be a relief from the Bush years. Hillary Clinton is far more knowledgable on the issues (those are the things Obama followers would rather brush aside,) than Obama. She would make a far stronger opponent to McCain. However, should the Kool-Aid kid get the nomination, then we will all have our "hope" to sustain us through November and if he should somehow actually beat McCain then really, as president, how bad can he be? Bush has already set the bar so low. posted 05/02/2008 at 19:16:48

That is the weakest, most pathetic show of "outrage" I've ever seen. Obama is a lovely man who gives lovely speeches, but for God's sake, get that man some balls. He should have shown that he could put this to rest long before this. Too little and way too late, I'm afraid. If he thinks the Republicans are going to let this go, he's sadly naive. posted 04/29/2008 at 14:57:16
LOL! I love that HuffPo uses a Fox News provided photo of Obama chummy with Wright to promote the news conference where, we can only "hope", he is going to throw Wright under the bus. posted 04/29/2008 at 14:04:24

Hillary Clinton To Face Bill O'Reilly On "The Factor"

Kind of a weak show of "outrage." Obama just seems to become more of a shadow of his former self every day. Did he really think this process would be easy? That he wouldn't have to fight? Say what you will about Hillary, but she's got the fire in the belly that it takes to win. posted 04/29/2008 at 15:09:41

McCain in 2008 = Clinton in 2012

What a well thought out, well written post. One of the most intelligent evaluations of the primary I've read. Certainly, the most intelligent on HuffPo. I think you couldn't be more on the money in your analysis. That is exactly what will happen if Obama is the nominee. It seems like every week he's handing the Republicans another gift with which to destroy him. You can't blame Hillary for Michelle Obama's comments. You can't blame Hillary for Obama's Reverend Wright, Bill Ayers or Rezko problems, and as for "bitter-gate", that story was broken right here on HuffPo, which I find to be a delightful little bit of irony. Obama is imploding all by his inexperienced, naive self. It really is a shame that the Democratic leadership was not smart enough to realize how this race that included the first viable woman and black man would play out. Had they just encouraged Obama to wait eight more years (he is a very young man, after all), and thrown the party behind Hillary now, we could have won the White House this year and probably held it for 16 years. But alas, the emblem of the Democratic party isn't the jackass for nothing. You're absolutely right on, John. The Republicans will wipe the floor with Obama without breaking a sweat. Hillary will be waiting in the wings to run again and win in 2012, and Obama, who might have been a good President, will never be heard from again. posted 04/20/2008 at 18:21:41

The difference is everyone knows all about Hillary's problems and baggage. Nobody can possibly be surprised by anything about her any more. What can the Republicans possibly attack her on that they haven't already in the past 20 years? There's a certain comfort to be taken in that when it seems that Obama is dropping a new bombshell for the Republicans to exploit every single week. Who knows what else is going to hit the fan for them to use against him? After all, he only recently hit the political scene and soared like a rock star based mostly just on charisma. He's only now being really vetted. So in this choice between Hillary and Obama, I'll take the devil I know rather than the devil I don't know.

Clinton Owes Obama An Apology

Nice attempt at "spin," but I'm not buying it. The phrase "typical white person" was clear as was the context. The sooner Obama supporters stop seeing him as a God who can do no wrong, the less disappointment you will have to deal with when he's revealed to be a flawed human being just like the rest of us. Racial prejudices and all. posted 03/26/2008 at 19:28:16
Substitute the word "black" for the word "white" and see if you can figure it out. A phrase like that stereotypes a person by virtue of their color. That's pretty much the definition of racism. posted 03/26/2008 at 19:18:00
Couldn't agree more CraigMM. Thank you! posted 03/26/2008 at 19:11:14
Obama is not without racist sentiments of his own. Obama used the words "typical white person" when describing his white grandmother's reasonable trepidation upon having to walk by a group of black youths on her street. I contend that a Latino woman, an Asian woman, or even an African American woman might have the same feelings. It has nothing to do with color, but rather with the vulnerability a woman feels in such a situation. It doesn't even matter if the youths are black, brown or white. There is a feeling of intimidation that a woman, especially an older woman, may experience. For him to make that holier-than-thou speech about racism and then make that swipe at white women is both hypocritical and racist. Why does Obama get a free pass from everyone on this? It seems to me that Hillary is not the only one you should be calling out to apologize. posted 03/26/2008 at 16:14:18

Clinton: Wright "Would Not Have Been My Pastor"

Why is Obama getting a complete pass on his comment about his grandmother being a "typical white woman?" Can no one see the racism in that statement? Just because she was uncomfortable upon seeing a group of black youths congregated on a corner, he plays the white racist card. I contend that a Latino woman, an Asian woman or even an African American woman would also be uncomfortable in the same situation. It has nothing to do with color. It has to do with the vulnerability of women, whether the youths were black, brown or white. So on one day he presents himself as holier than thou in a speech where he still refuses to part company with the highly racist Rev. Wright, choosing instead to throw his white grandmother under the bus, and the next day he takes a racist swipe at all white women. That's not okay with me and it shouldn't be okay with anyone, I don't care what candidate you're backing. posted 03/25/2008 at 18:31:23

I love Hillary. I am endlessly impressed with how many times she can get knocked down and comes back stronger than ever. I am not the least bit put off by her ambition. Anyone who runs for the position of leader of the free world who professes to not be ambitious or have an enormous ego is full of shit. Just the thought that you could do this job takes enormous hutzpuh. As for her accomplishments only being that she married a guy who became president, I believe he was able to become president because of her. She's a helluva a lot smarter than he is. But then I believe that behind every successful man is one great, great broad. I think most women who hate Hillary do so because she has had the nerve to step out of her sole identity as a "woman", which conjures up different realities for different people, and into the identity of simple female. Yeah, it's her gender, but it doesn't identify who she is because she is much more than that. People get very uncomfortable with those who step outside their role assigned to them by society. She's tough as they come. She's a fighter. She's striving for the ultimate man's job. And like it or not, don't be surprised when she becomes the 44th President of the United States.
