How to Pour a Pint of Bitter

When I saw those two young men ask the first two questions about "typical white person" and Hillary's drinking, I immediately realized that the General election will be very difficult for us Dems.

As you can see they Obama-bots are the only ones commenting on these sophomoric articles. More reputable media does not even bring it up. Clearly none of them have mentioned anything about Bill Clinton's "insecure white people" comment. Perhaps it is not even true. Let me also mention, that the HuffPo understand Bill Clinton still has a lot of pull, whether democrat, republican or obamacan, they feature him frequently in large "front page" photo shots with big headlines.

HOWEVER, I have serious doubts about his candidacy:

1. EXPERIENCE: only 3 years in the U.S. Senate, Hillary completed a full term before making her presidential bid, she has 8 years, double-standard HRC would have been called a carpet-bagger. Even Edwards completed a full term prior to his 2004 pres. bid. What has Obama accomplished for Illinois as a U.S. Senator?

2. RACE CARD: This upsets me the most.

a. First, with Impastor-Wright's hate sermon disparaging, slandering Hillary. Her liberal policies and stances helping those with less and the dis-enfranchised have made her an enemy to the vast right wing. So, I am completely baffled why Impastor-Wright would attack her and Obama condoned and allowed it. I know why, because Obama benefitted from Impastor-Wright's attacks. It swayed additional percentages of black vote to his column.

b. Reagan Trajectory Comment: While Impastor-Wright was helping Obama with the black vote, early in this nomination race. This was a very divisive comment against one of our great Democrat presidents-Bill Clinton. A man who grew up in the deep south, in black churches, with black friends, etc. One who appointed a very diverse administration. You see, we are a country of 300+ Million people, the fact that Obama and other minorities like him (including Hillary as a woman) hold a position that only a 100 people can hold (U.S. Senators) is quite signifcant. We have made great strides as a society in many areas, but, still have much left to do. Still much left to do because our inner cities are still struggling with bad education, housing, health care, opportunities, etc.

I agree this country was not fair to the creed: "All men are created equal", that is why I supported and still support Affirmative Action or similar programs that will give a needed start to many of our society's disenfranchised. However, not for the Obamas, Oprahs, and Condoleeza's of the world. They are part of the upper 1 percent. Obama's candidacy should be based on EXPERIENCE (which he clearly lacks) and MERITOCRACY (only 2 years in high office-U.S. Senate), one of our country's great values. JFK was in congress for 14 years, Bill Clinton governor for 12 years plus 2 years as state attorney General in Arkansas. Hillary has served in the senate for 8 years and 35 years in public life.

To further elaborate, Obama actually has less EXPERIENCE than John Edwards, yet a good portion of America that is color/race blind supports Obama far more than Edwards. This to Obama's credit because he has done a better job than Edwards running a smart campaign, resonating his message and appeal.

If Hillary has built up a reservoir of support from being in public life longer, for being passionate about her and her constituency's issues, etc., it is called racism. This is utter B.S. I supported Kerry in 2004 over Edwards because of merit and experience and I'm doing the same supporting Hillary over Obama. If Obama served a full term in the senate, then, I would view his candidacy seriously, there would be more of a track record to examine. I don't fault his young supporters because Obama reached out to many of them, many of them also joined because it became a fad, a bandwagon, but, being older I look for more in my candidates...a track record, I'm not impressed by "words"/speeches. Frankly, I find him to be a very polished/talented speaker, but, not in the league of the Jesse Jacksons, MLK's, Bill Clintons, JFK's of the world, his style is more cerebral like a John Kerry, but, not as passionate as the aforementioned.

I am confident in saying that if Colin Powell were a democrat and running against Hillary, Geraldine Ferraro would not have said: "If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position. And if he was a woman, he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept." She maybe right, if Obama were white would he be the New John Edwards?

Affirmative Action needs to evolve. We have a stronger African-American middle class today, a stronger other Minority middle class also, minorities in general are gaining more political voice, financial strength, etc. The uplifting of poor inner city blacks/minorities should not just be a govt. issue, but, an issue that the new minority middle class should also address by going back to the communities, mentoring, etc.

From this perspective, it makes Obama's association with IMPASTOR Wright and his wrong message even more disturbing. Disturbing because Obama in his famous 2004 speech talked about One America, not a red or white. Yet, he supports a bigoted IMPASTOR stuck in the '60's, '80's, etc.? Why didn't this IMPASTOR use Obama's and Oprah's power and money to bring opportunities and positive messagers to their people, why waste time talking about the past in such a way.

2. How can Obama get respect from the military, especially as someone who has not served in the military and now refuses to salute the American flag? I continue to be flummoxed by Obama"s candidacy. Perhaps his thinking is if he can run for the presidency after just 2 (TWO) YEARS in the U.S. Senate without any real record/stance/EXPERIENCE, that he can also be Commander in Chief without serving in the military, supporting the military, denouncing the military, the U.S.A., etc.

3. John "Wayne" McCain has served in the Military. Hillary has fought for the military to include women, even gays (remember the don"t ask don"t tell policy, I"m sure those meetings are in here newly released schedules). If the military allowed it when she was young she would have eagerly served, after all is she can wear the pant-suit, she can certainly wear a camouflage suit. She can take the 3am call, don"t forget she slept next to Bill (most of the time) when he was taking those calls also, she is clearly qualified to be Commander in Chief.

The troops who are laying it on the line will not like that Obama does not salute the American Flag nor wear a flag pin on his lapel. Yet he is happy to dress up in other types of uniforms. Not good for morale whatsoever.

4. Obama has falsely claimed that Hillary voted for the Iraq war. HILLARY DID NOT VOTE FOR THE IRAQ WAR. She voted to AUTHORIZE A RESOLUTION for Military Force Against Iraq requiring certain stipulations to be met with the ONUS/DECISION on the SITTING (on his u know what) President based on a. national security, b. 5. Saddam, post-war claimed he pretended to have WMD"s to deter his neighbor Iran from a surprise attack. In the same fashion, Bush II could have used this Resolution Authorization as a "threat for war" to further pressure Saddam to open up for Inspectors. As a matter of fact, once the resolution was authorized, Saddam started to scurry to allow inspectors to come back in, but, Bush/Cheney had other reasons to PRE-EMPT this WAR and were dis-interested in having the Inspectors discover the real truth because they wanted to capture the oil fields, oil flow and influence OPEC, so they abused this Authorization.

6. This is a GREAT EXAMPLE of Hillary crossing the AISLE to work with a Republicans administration. You can bet if she was Commander in Chief she would have used this AUTHORIZATION correctly. Another question must be asked, Bush did not need to enter Baghdad, he could have also taken a containment strategy like Papa Bush. All of these different options were available to Bush II instead of engaging in an expensive and disastrous regime change to enrich the wallets of his oil friends.
