I am a 55-year old black woman who is fed up with all of this BS. I am getting angrier by the second: What are we going to do, America?

James Frey And Nan Talese: Oprah Duped Us!

What? Who let you in here??? posted 05/03/2008 at 21:00:38
Oprah is not the reason why we are in this "mess". James Frey wanted to become a well-know author so he got Nan Talese, one of the best editors in the book selling business , to help "move" his book and make him a star. They sent the book to Oprah knowing full well that once she put her stamp of approval on that book it would be a success. Now he has to eat it!!!!! If he has just said it was fiction maybe we would not have the bad taste in our mouths when we see his work promoted in a book store. I just walk right by it!!! Won't even touch it! posted 05/03/2008 at 20:57:01

Slew Of Gaffes Makes Pals Wonder Why Bill Clinton Is Losing It

Hey, I don't regret working for the election of and voting for Bubba, but what I am upset about is the revelation that he is just a mildly racist southern bigot!!! posted 04/27/2008 at 10:16:55
Right on! I think their "won at all costs" is really wrecking Democratic chances of winning this election. If we end up with another Republican victory it will their fault. Now that they have "helped" make RACE an issue as well as CLASS in the case of Obama, how can they THINK that they stand to benefit from it????? Yeah, she should run the course but I don't think that she is playing fair. i.e. DAMAGE to the very party they supposedly represent. They just want to win!!! And that is not enough! posted 04/27/2008 at 10:15:15

Jeremiah Wright and Psalm 137

Also, don't analyze scripture you don't understand. Always gets one into trouble! posted 04/27/2008 at 15:11:04
I have to say, after listen to the Bill Moyers interview as well as reading the transcript, I agree with Rev. Wright about the media miscontruing his words. I also caught a bit of an unexamined analysis there. It was through this media episode, as well as the Bubba Clinton "Jessie Jackson won North Carolina, too" remarks that seeks to interject some the "beware of Black people and their hidden agenda" mindset. I remember seeing "Birth of a Nation" where Blacks were in the seat of government in the south but whites started developing their fear about them having power over THEM, which started the KKK and the movements to strip them of all of the power the Blacks had acquired rightfully, through the democratic process. I think some of that fear is at the root of this tack: media is feeding the paranoia of the white populous against a person who they think does not reflect their best interests. posted 04/27/2008 at 15:09:46

I hear ya! I voted for him and will continue to support him. But I am getting so angry with the media manipulation right now. They are creating boogymen everywhere: poor Rev. Wright, etc. Creating issues that are not important so that we cannot pay attention to the real important things that can mean our extinction!!! posted 04/25/2008 at 10:53:44
Yeah! The media has a real terrible bias that gets worse each day. The so-called ABC debate was an outrage! I was appalled by Charles Gibson, so-called experienced journalist (he has not been more than a news-reader as far as I am concerned) and George Stephanopolous (a real idiot) conduct during it. The questions were terrible. As if they decided to become FOX news! I really feel that media is losing a great deal of its influence for those who are educated and searching for alternate POVs. But the vast citizenry is stuck with FOX and the rest of the crap, so they are being spoon-fed this drivel.
Hillary is catering to the lowest denominator. I agree with Bill Richardson! The bad taste in my mouth comes from the way HIllary is kissing the a-- of the press! posted 04/25/2008 at 10:51:01
I am so pissed by this. As if the media can make reality just because it says so. I think the media has lost a great deal of its influence with the American public. We are tired of hearing the same reheat BS over and over again, especially the drilling of innane misinformation from the cable news channels. Now they are playing "flavor of the month" with the electoral process. They have forgotten WHAT their role in the process is: to provide IMPARTIAL, OBJECTIVE reportage and information to the POPULOUS so that WE can make cogent, coherent decisions about our democracy. This entire election is becoming a mockery. WAIT! Maybe it has always been a mockery and I am only getting hip to it now. I am one of the idiots who blindly supported McGovern in 1972 and I really thought that "change" was possible. I also worked for Robert Kennedy in 1968 because I truly believed that we could actually become the America that we have promised to be. NOW is the time for CHANGE. Hillary DOES NOT represent any changes in the way things are done. She has internalized the politics of SAME. Whatever the image the media creates for her she is still the candidate of SAME. posted 04/25/2008 at 07:59:35

Condi Rice as VP? Richard Clarke and Dana Priest Call Her 'Worst' Ever

I second that emotion!!! Condi Rice has wasted 8 friggin' years of our lives and she has been so depressing terrible at representing our country around the world, it is laughable if it weren't so downright enraging!!! I really think she should consider herself responsible for the death of Ms. Bhutto in Pakistan since Rice was part of the group that convinced Bhutto to return to Pakistan and fight for governmental control with that crappy military president. I cannot even find any redeeming qualities for her. She has failed dismally as a National Security Advisor (she blew off Richard Clarke several times before 9/11) and as a Secretary of State (all she has done is go on extended trips everywhere and gone to state dinners. Big Deal!!!) State Dept. has failed at every juncture and should be shown the door posthaste. posted 04/12/2008 at 17:07:10

'American Idol' Judge Paula Abdul Cancels Live 'Today' Performance

Paula has been able to stretch this period of "limit to no talent" for as long as it can go. I am so surprised that she has been able to make a simi-successful musical career stretch to the point where she has had TV programs dedicated to her as a celebrity. She was lipsyncing in the video snippet and I guess she would not be able to do the same on Today. Their concert series seems to be more of a "live" concert rather than a prerecorded one. She can barely sing. I am very ashamed to say that I have the cassette of her first album 10,000 years ago and I still wonder what I saw in her to buy it!!!! posted 04/12/2008 at 16:53:29

Howard Dean Gets Heated With Clinton Donors At Private Meeting

I am in agreement. Michigan and Florida willingly violated the Demo party rules and now they want to have no consequences. Yes, it disenfranchised the voters of the state involved but I think the party leadership should take the "pill" for this. They did this to their state's voters. They can't have it both ways. As for Howard, I think he has a tough position because he is trying to continue to party fundraise while those money cats are angry with him. This is a really tough situation for the party. I hope we are able to survive this. posted 04/05/2008 at 15:40:19
