I suppose I would call myself a conservative Democrat. I could maybe be a Republican if the party weren't currently controlled by neocons and religious nuts. It's obviously bad for the nation to have one of our two major parties so dysfunctional. I think if the Ron Paul wing of the party could wrestle control from the neocons and their money the brand could be saved, and America would be the better for it. I suppose I would then self-identify as a Republican.
I miss civil discourse and honest debate.
I miss true conservatives like Barry Goldwater.
I am disgusted by slavish devotion to any one party or politician.
I Served as an Infantry Team Leader in Iraq, got hurt, and am now trying to get back in the military.
