Keith's reference to Katie Couric was actually a response to Couric's bashing of reporter Lee Cowan, something Danny Shea should have introduced this article by stating (if fair reporting was in view), and something which Rachel Sklar somehow waited to mention until the fifth to the last line of her criticism of Keith published here at Huff Post).
Why should we pause to reflect on that central fact? Because you may not like Keith, you may not agree with him, he may not be your cup of tea, but it's his very willingness to take on those he believes to be in error - regardless of their party - that makes him a hero to some and a nuisance to others.
Keith has been a clarion voice against the iniquities of the Bush-Cheney regime when other journalists were serving as cheerleaders for the administration. He's been the best friend Progressives and patriots have had on countless occasions.
If you don't want to hear a journalist like Keith you're free to change the channel. But don't commit political suicide by dismissing, or in some cases seeking to suppress, the one voice who has - more often than not - expressed the passions and convictions that many of us have felt during these last many nearly barren journalistic years.
