One of my goals in commenting on HP is to encourage, by example, comments based on facts and reason delivered in a polite and civil manner. I fall off the civility wagon with some regularity. My own imperfections notwithstanding, I think the ability to express one's thoughtful opinions logically and to disagree with others without invective or rancor will make us all more effective communicators, increase our persuasiveness, and make HP a more pleasant and useful ecosystem.
