Collectibles : Glass, Crystal : Alexandrite Neodymium Glass Vase
Collectibles:Glass, Crystal:Murano Glass:Soffiati Glass Vase
This vase was probably produced by VSM Cappellin Venini & C. in the 1920's. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. It stands 5 1/2" inches high and is 7 1/4" inches wide and has a rough broken pontil characteristic of glass from that company and time period. Thanks for looking... Free Shipping!

This vintage Murano glass duck is unusual in that it has merletto or filigrana strands around the controlled bubbles in the body made to look like feathers.

Probably made by Seguso but unmarked. It stands 9" inches high and is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks... There is some roughness around the area under the body where he was attached to the base that happened when it was made (see the picture below).

The base is slightly fluorescent under UV light and the beak has gold foil inclusions. The figure dates from the fifties or earlier.

Bizan Kutani Tea Dust Tenmoku Glaze Chaire Shape Vase
Antiques : Ceramics, Porcelain : Kutani Tenmoku Glaze Vase
This Kutani chaire or vase is signed Bizan and measures 5 1/4" inches high. There is a very tight hairline in the center of the inside wall that doesn't bother me much. It doesn't go through or touch any edges. It can be seen in pictures 5-8 below. Just pointing that out for accuracy. No other chips or cracks of any kind. There are mineral deposits around the rim and it must have held water at some point.

The mark may be an early one of Shimizu Bizan 1861-1926 or the original Bizan who died in 1862... The design along the lower part of the vase looks like it was intended to look like cloisonne and is is partially covered with a fabulous tea dust glaze which is in turn overlaid with gold mons. This was a period of Bizan production characterized by a mix of Japanese decoration and Chinese Tea Ceremony styles.

Collectibles:Glass, Crystal:Murano Glass:Dino Martens Aureliano Toso
This vase could have possibly been designed by Dino Martens for Aureliano Toso (the first impression I had when I found it) but it also could have been made by Venini. The shape resembles form 4405 on page 280 of the Venini Catalogue Raisonné. It is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, scratches fleabites etc.... A shimmering play of mezza filigrana lines as you move and gaze at it... A really great effect! The vase is unsigned and measures 11.5" inches high Excellent quality and a ...

This late Edo period Japanese Imari dish is 8.5" inches in diameter. It has glaze fritting around the edges and foot ring the worst which can be seen in the photos below (one 1/4" inch flake). No other damage, cracks etc... I have seen a very few similar examples of fritting on the sharp edges of older Imari porcelain and it is probably related to a specific kiln or workshop.

The gold is mostly worn in the trellis behind the dragon with some wear in the cobalt blue veins in the florals and Hoo birds tail. The dragons and parts of the Hoo bird are done in aubergine enamel and the dragons and parts of the central designs are outlined in black. The red ground reserves are styilized lotus blossoms with gold highlights. the back having takaramono (seven precious things) scrolls in underglaze cobalt blue.

My best dating for this plate is late Edo era, between 1820-1850. The full dragon figure being relatively rare on Japanese Imari porcelain and indicative of a strong Chinese influence in early Imari wares.
