Barack Obama and Israel: More GOP Lies

Wow, you are pretty passionate about this. Are you an ardent card-member carrying Zionist?! No answer necessary - it's pretty clear.

Here is the Ralph Nader "diatribe" on Meet The Press you referred to regarding Palestine/Israel. Everything he says is rational, logical and absolutely true (starts at 1:30).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz7EkulVyHo

Whether the next President is Obama, Clinton, or McCain is irrelevant, as it pertains to the question of Palestine, because they are all in line with the status quo: unconditional support for Israel's illegal occupation of another people and another peoples' land. posted 05/14/2008 at 20:56:23
Just more mumb-jumbo garbage. When Barack Obama was in the Illinois legislature, he was very sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, and had close ties to professor and humanitarian activist, Edward Said. However, now that he is on the verge of the presidency, he has completely changed his tune and fallen in line with the status quo regarding Israel: "Israel is our ally" "Israel has a special significance for me" etc etc etc...Why? Political survival. Israel is the one remaining taboo topic in this country. You do not dare criticize it if you plan to seek political office.

I say grow some damn balls and speak the truth for once, somebody....anybody! Ralph Nader is the only one I have heard who is not afraid to speak the truth about this issue. The bottom line is the greatest obstacle to peace has been Israeli/American rejectionism over the last 30 years. Put your bias aside (whichever side it is on), do the research, review the documentary record, and you will reach no other logical conclusion. The truth is there, but it's buried underneath the propoganda from the mainstream media, from politicians, and from powerful lobby groups.

I do not like my tax dollars being used for killing, expelling and humiliating Palestinians...or anyone else for that matter! posted 05/14/2008 at 00:54:25

Clinton Camp Says It Will Use The Nuclear Option

Don't blame Nader. Last time I checked he had every right to run for president. Blame stupid Americans who keep electing Republicans and Democrats year after year after freakin' year...and NOTHING changes!

Thank you, and very well put yourself...

It just saddens me that so many Americans allow themselves to be manipulated into such a constant state of FEAR - fear of "terrorists," fear of "immigrants." The anger I have read on this thread is really just misplaced fear.

Perpetual Fear and apathy have created a willfully ingornant American society - and a willfully ignorant populace is the easiest to control. The few people/entities that have the real power in this country know this, and they use it to create division - because a divided population cannot pose a threat to their power.

People should know that most immigrants (legal or not) are just like "missviv's" family: hard-working, descent human beings trying to support their families and give their kids a better life... posted 05/01/2008 at 02:47:35
Sorry, but somehow my two posts above got posted backwards. Just a point of clarification. posted 05/01/2008 at 01:50:39
...So spare me your Lou Dobbs statistics and your hidden racial bias. Unless you see what the reality is on the ground in these immigrant communities, you have no foundation on which to speak. I have seen it first hand - day after day - and can say these are good people who work for what they earn. I will take them over the lower income whites in the same neighborhood that frequent my friend's business with their foodstamps and their welfare money only looking to by alchohal (many, not all). These are able bodied people who refuse to work. That is who YOU should be outraged at, not the poor Latino immigrant (legal OR illegal) that works like a dog to support his/her family.

They are not taking our money or our resources. The lying politicians - Democrats and Republicans - and the fat-cat greedy corporations they work for are the ones doing that; and they are keeping Americans in a constant state of fear by playing up the "immigration" issue. And it's working...

Wake up America and stop your perpetual willful ingorance. Hard working immigrants are not screwing you. Think about who is... posted 05/01/2008 at 01:37:23
I have a friend who owns a business in a low-income neighborhood that is predominately filled with Mexican (and other Latino) immigrants - legal and otherwise. Let me tell you from first hand experience...these people work hard - I mean HARD. You can see it when they come into my friend's business - they have the worn-out hands and the tired eyes of a "working man." Most of them, YES, most of them, do not receive any type of government assistance (welfare, etc - healthcare, on the other hand, is a human right in my opinion).

It's all very simple: they come to this country to find work. Why? To support their families - both here in the US and back in their native countries. Why? Because that is what real men do. They go through the misery of getting to this country knowing they will be exploited: overworked and underpaid. They know they will experience increasing racism and know they will be used as political pawns. But they endure all this to support their families - to survive. They completely understand their is no such thing as the "American dream," but they know they can make more money to feed their kids in this country than in their own. Like it or not, America has played the primary role in creating the miserable economic conditions in Latin America - mainly Central America - that help force people to head north in search of work.

Bush And Sharon Had Secret Deal To Expand West Bank, Claims Olmert

Interesting how quickly this story was removed from the HuffPo front page. This is HUGE news - it should be plastered all over the media. It shows who the true obstacle to peace is. Why is there not more outrage and/or media coverage about this?! Israel has also just been caught spying on America (for the 2nd time) and stealing military secrets - including nuclear secrets. This story was buried on page 11 of my local news paper - and I have not really seen it reported on extensively in the media. WHY?!... posted 04/25/2008 at 03:23:51

Ralph Nader Tells Clinton "Don't Listen" To People Telling You To Drop Out

When will Americans finally realize that two parties monopolizing our political system is not a real democracy?! The truth is that very little actually changes for the average person, regardless of whether a republican or a democrat is in the White House - just do the research. Yes, anything - and I mean ANYTHING - is better than George Bush, but it's time to break the stranglehold that these so-called "leaders" have on our country. This is where I applaud Ralph Nader: he realistically knows he has very little chance of winning, but I think his true goal in running for president is to break the corporate political system we've had for years. Just imagine if we had a presidential race in which several parties were able to participate, and had real substantive debates that weren't turned into SuperBowl-like events by the mainstream corporate media; with real thought provoking questions were asked (unlike, "what is your favorite bible story?" or "did you see a UFO?").

We, as Americans, are the ones to blame because we have become sheep-like in this country. They say "jump," we ask, "how high?" Think about how they use fear to enact their policies: just raise the terrorist alert to orange or red and people are afraid enough of "terrorists" to let these politicians do whatever they want.

We should always be fearful of the word "leader." It's time we stop electing "leaders" in this country, and start electing representatives. posted 03/29/2008 at 14:11:17
