Lo Que es Bueno Para el Ganso...

Wow.

So many misrepresentations in this article I don't even know where to begin.

Josh, from your own wikipedia link:

"Charles Lee "Cookie" Thornton[1] shot one police officer with a revolver across the street from city hall and took the officer's handgun before entering city hall.

A revolver, Josh.

Despite the hoplophobic rhetoric, statistics continually show that ALL rifles (not just the scary black evil Assault Rifles(tm) )are used in 2.9% of all homicides in the US. The Socialist response of the anti-rights lobby is to ban them, despite their prevalence in the hunting and sport shooting community, and the ineffectiveness of the ban itself:

Yet people like Josh claim that America desperately needs a renewal.

Josh also likes to ride the insurrectionist horse, implying that the Founding Fathers and the NRA today advocate anyone in disagreement with the government to take up arms and revolt.

False.

Hey Josh, here's a novel idea- Border Security. But the left doesnt' want to hurt Mexico's feelings do they? Lets just infringe upon our rights some more instead. posted 06/11/2008 at 11:17:17

McCain On Crime Gun Trace Data

"In reality", it appears to be accurate.

"The fact is," it appears to be accurate.

Good enough, right? posted 06/16/2008 at 15:40:25
Today, thanks to the anti-rights lobby's fascination with implements instead of addressing the behaviorial problems associated with violence and compulsive behavior, criminals can just as easily be violent with knives as with guns:

"Allentown police said Robledo became angry during a game of dominos at 2 a.m. at N. Jordan and Allen streets and punched Jaon Roman in the face several times, giving him a bloody nose. Ismael Ortiz and Angel Monserrate tried to break them apart, but Robledo pulled out a knife, police said.

He slashed Monseratte in the stomach and Ortiz in the left rib cage area, leaving lacerations, police said. When he was arrested, Robledo had a strong odor of alcohol, police said.

Today, thanks to the anti-rights lobby wasting finite time and resources on legislation which seeks to regulate implements instead of prosecuting and incarcerating criminals, any criminal can acquire a stolen firearm:

"When police recovered the 12-gauge shotgun, Johnson blurted, "you got my gun, there is no bodies on it, now I plead the fifth," according to court documents. The gun had been stolen from Suffolk County, N.Y., police said."

Kell,

If gun control is suh a popular position at the moment, then why can't Paul and other anti-right activists get any gun control legislation passed without the NRA's assistance, especially with a Democratically controlled House and Senate?

Where's all that Will of the Pepole(tm) Paul talks so much about? posted 06/16/2008 at 09:45:44

and what do you propose as "common sense?" posted 06/13/2008 at 11:27:12
jade,

I know reading comprehension isn't your strong point, but obviously you missed the fact that thirdpower was referring to the NICS Improvement Act.

The 2nd part, which you failed to recognize, was probably referring to the current democratic pres. candidates and not the '06 elections. Nice try though. Practice makes perfect.

ps, how ARE those big "victories" the BC won in '06 working out for them? Lots of gun control being passed i guess..

"Universal background checks don't affect the right of self-defense in the home. Banning a super dangerous class of weapons, like assault weapons, also would not adversely affect the right of self-defense in the home," said Henigan. "Curbing large volume sales doesn't affect self-defense in the home."

"Super-dangerous?"

Unfortunately, this is what we have to look forward to after the SCOTUS ruling. Super-emotionalism. posted 06/13/2008 at 09:38:58

Well, if you don't give any validity to Keane's statement, just read the one from Reichert, ATF Supervisor.

Either way, the Brady Bunch has been called out on their BS "trace data" correlation and have been made fools of. Not a very difficult thing to do when their whole position is based on lies and misrepresentations.

You're pretty familiar with that, aren't you jade? posted 06/12/2008 at 11:57:08
"You cannot draw any statistical information from trace data. It's not particularly meaningful information," Keane said. "It is propaganda by the Brady Center to advance their anti-gun legislation to restrict the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding Americans. They apparently have no respect for the Georgia Legislature, and they have no respect for state sovereignty."
