Patricia Amaya is a freelance director, writer, producer and cinematographer based in Seattle, Washington. She was born and raised in Los Angeles and Burbank, California. She began her Film/Video career ambitions as a child. Patricia attended schools for filmmaking several years ago. Embarking on a career as a Prep Tech in 1990 with Motion Picture Camera Rental Houses, she gained a vast knowledge of the technical functions of the finest equipment manufactured by the most respected names in the industry. Learning the fundamentals of the entertainment industry and creating a network of freelance camera assistant productions, she traveled on location to Europe working on dramas, industrials, documentaries and commercials. Patricia created and wrote a pilot variety show for a major television network. Patricia has introduced green practices to entertainment productions companies. She currently writes for the Huffingtonpost.com green section. Patricia has created a non-profit foundation and is the executive director, catering to artists and musicians who are interested in remaining independent from major corporate entertainment industries. She is currently working on a series of interviews with Journalist, Filmmakers, Musicians, Pro-Skateboarders, Philanthropists and Political Activists. No longer relying on the major corporate entertainment industry to distribute and show her work, she is using the internet as a catalyst to showcase projects.
