China Earthquake: Death Toll Could Reach 50,000, Says State TV

This is a remote impoverished area and human beings are suffering greatly. As an American in China I hope my friends here do not see some of the posts here. I guess if we are going to judge people by their government some of these comments reflect our government pretty well---a bunch of heartless assholes! posted 05/16/2008 at 01:40:54

Hillary And The Racist Gap

I was raised by racist rednecks and I know em when I see em. West Virginia is a redneck state, and my part of Oregon has enough of them to make sure that Obama won't win in my county. None of this surprises me.

I'm looking forward to the day that my George Wallace supporting relatives have to contend with a n*** in the White House. I'm only 54, and am truly thrilled with change I have seen in my life! posted 05/15/2008 at 06:46:15

China's Troubles: How to Help

A lot of these comments are making me sick! I'm in China right now too, and may I remind you ideologues that it is populated by human beings that are less a reflection of their government than we Americans are of ours. Calling this China's problem and calling China a wealthy country is an ignorant typical comment coming from people who never leave the comfort of their own country. Many of the people here are desperately poor, and even the middle class is a far cry from ours.
As human beings we should always reach out to help others in need no matter where they are from.
Remember that the victims of Katrina also live in a "rich" country that is loathed by much of the world for its government, which was elected by its citizens. posted 05/14/2008 at 04:55:38

Sex And The American Mom: 1 In 3 Report Getting Action On The Side

surveys are not polls and should not be considered an accurate reflection on reality. In order for this to be accurate, a group of say 500 married with children women would be chosen at random and then questioned. These surveys can be answered by anyone including 13 year old boys and can also be answered countless times by the same person. This is a glaring example of what is wrong with today's media. posted 05/14/2008 at 21:14:43

Last Night Clinton Won the Pennsylvania Primary, but Lost the War for the Nomination

Thank God the Pennsylvania primary is over! That was the most tedious, drawn out, piece of shit example of bad democracy. I don't ever want to see another cheese steak eating, undecided, bitter, white, ill informed voter; vacuous, ill informed cheese steak eating pundit; shallow, high school style debate; or bowling, booze guzzling, cheese steak eating candidate ever again!

My Oregon absentee ballot is in the mail and I'm on my way to China for three weeks. No messy democracy there! At least we can choose which idiot will mismanage our country. posted 04/23/2008 at 13:02:22

AP Poll: Bush Public Approval at New Low

You obviously don't live where I do. I'm in a pocket of moderates surrounded by a half dozen counties of Bush faithful. I have a lot of fun throwing out phrases like "Medicare for everyone" and "Barack Obama" into the local newspaper's online forum and get tons of irate, ill informed, irrational responses. His approval rating around here is a lot better. It's scary. I need my medicine.... posted 04/11/2008 at 00:14:25

China: A Stroke Survivor's Alternative to U.S. Health Care

I had the dubious pleasure of getting carbon monoxide poisoning this year in China. Ambulance ride,
emergency room, 2 EKG's, a bed, oxygen, and an hour in a hyperbaric chamber and I was more or less OK. Things weren't as high tech and shiny as our hospitals and there were guys smoking in the hall, but my level of care was good. My wife brought me take out. The total tab was $100. It would have been at least ten grand here, and the food would have sucked. A middle class Chinese person could have paid this and not needed a second mortgage.

However, quality health care is not available to the masses at no cost. There is a severe shortage of medical care in the rural areas, and even $100 could be impossible for some. My brother in law there is a doctor who works 12 hours a day, 7 days a week because there are not enough doctors. Perhaps it's an attempt by the government to experiment with market drive health care? posted 04/08/2008 at 01:43:56

An Issue of Legitimacy and Democracy

Big Waaah! I live in Oregon, and have been "disenfranchised" as long as I remember, with a May primary I have had the dubious pleasure of seeing such stellar candidates as John Kerry chosen long before my vote even happened. This time around, thanks to the fantasy world the Clinton campaign is living in, I will have a chance to actually choose between two people. Funny how getting this far has made the Clintons too abhorrent for me to even consider them.

How about next time having a short and sweet 12 week, 3 region primary. Done deal. We have suffered enough. posted 04/07/2008 at 01:02:16

Senator Leahy To Clinton: Drop Out

I don't get it. Please explain to me, HRC supporters, How can your candidate LOGICALLY win? I know you think she would be a better president, but how is she supposed to win? I she supposed to win by sliming him to death? Does she have a secret gay prostitute ready to come forward with color photos and credit card receipts? Do the super delegates really all support her, and this whole pissing match is just for show? I know you guys really love your candidate, but tell us how you expect her to WIN? posted 03/28/2008 at 13:48:31

Time Magazine Asks: Can Fox News Survive After The Bush Era Ends?

Fox News reflects way too much of our country, the country that chose W Bush and could easily choose McCain. It isn't going anywhere and the dipshits who wrote that article are the same ones who predicted that HRC was going to be the hands down Democratic nominee.

Time is the one in trouble, substituting speculation for news. Glossy pages full of hollow ideas and advertisement. Maybe if they did their jobs and actually informed people about some truths that they were unable to get anywhere else. Maybe if they convinced people that their government has run them headlong down the path of destruction instead of parroting the lies of this government. Just another bogus "news source" just like Fox, only Fox will probably still be around in ten years and Time may end up a TV show like American Idol. posted 03/28/2008 at 13:35:04

Time for team Clinton to do the honorable and right thing. They can't win fairly, so they shouldn't stay in. Reunite the party and beat McCain.
Comparing their chances to the NY Giants in the Superbowl is ludicrous. This is not a game where emotion, skill and luck overcome odds. It is the future of our country and the world. posted 03/24/2008 at 13:21:06

Top 10 Most Useless Items of Crapola

Here is the BEST invention I've seen in a long time:

I was in the Tokyo airport and needed to use the toilet. The men's room stall had walls all the way to the floor, so nobody with a wide stance could intrude on my blissful time alone with a heated seat throne complete with a variable pressure/temperature bidet. This item should be checked out even if nature's not calling. You will be refreshed and ready for anything the friendly skies try to throw at you.

CNN Trivializes Iraq and Hits a New Low

A friend of mine in China and I were discussing a recent news story she saw on Chinese TV. I was trying to find more info in the official english language online paper. No luck. When I mentioned it to her she admitted the government censors many stories. Duh! Their government works very hard to control news content.

Our so called free press has sadly turned into something that resembles the Chinese model. The sad thing is that it has been done voluntarily by the owners of the MSM, and not dictated by a totalitarian regime. Different methodologies, same results. posted 03/20/2008 at 20:16:40

Why I Am Grateful that Rush Limbaugh Attacked Me Today

Don't feel like you are being singled out because of your politics. This is a very busy site, and it even takes a long time for my bleeding heart commie comments to get posted. If the dems ever get a nominee, then maybe all this horse race BS will go away and we can have a decent debate over the issues. Even though many Repubs don't like him, I personally think McCain was the best choice you guys had. Not that I agree with him, but at least he won't have a shit eating grin on his face while he discusses matters of importance. posted 03/20/2008 at 19:59:41
