Top Clinton Aide: Wright Is Key Issue In My Talks With Superdels

I'm sorry you find it so difficutl to think. Wearing a cheap lapel pin and sending troops off to die in a ridiculously mistargeted invasion, creating thousands of innocent deaths among the Iraqis --this, in your book, is a sign of love of America? posted 04/01/2008 at 17:03:24
Well, of course the Clintonistas want to warm over the Rev. Wright matter, with their own lying, sound-byte spin. Hillary's enabling of the war, her ludicrous lying about her sniper fire in Bosnia, her tax and finance secrecy are all subjects she wants off our radar screens, just as she wants Mr. Obama's transcendent handling of the race matter in his Philadelphia speech off the radar screen. In the hands of Hillary, Rev. Wright is an old topic. The sooner the superdelegates put her and her campaign out of their misery, the better for all of us. posted 04/01/2008 at 17:00:36

Pelosi Says Democratic Race Should Go On

The superdelegates should put Hillary and her increasingly negative and ridiculous campaign out of her misery. The sooner, the better for all of us. Mr. Obama has a substantial lead in the popular vote, and he leads in pledged delegates and in numbers of states won. posted 04/01/2008 at 10:44:59

Actually, a little-noted fact is that Mr. Obama just won a big state: Texas. posted 04/01/2008 at 21:32:28
Hillary has made it clear that she has many of the qualities we abhor in Bush: a propensity to lie (her laughable Bosnia gunfire stories), her secretiveness (her still-hidden tax and financial material), her Swift-Boating techniques (Rev. Wright), her poor military judgment (her enabling of the Iraq invasion). Lying, secretiveness, and poor military judgment are a poor prescription for a President. The sooner the superdelegates put her and her ridiculous campaign out of their misery, the better for all of us. Let her and Bill take their ill-gotten millions and hide them in the Clinton library or put them wherever they want to put them. posted 04/01/2008 at 10:24:16

Not Until the Fat Lady Sings

What the hell was the greatness from which she shied? Further, I fail to see her campaign as tragic. Ludicrous, harmful, delusional -- yes. In any case, it's time the superdelegates put her out of her misery. She's obviously not qualified to be president. Major disqualifying characteristics are her lying, her secretiveness, and her mediocre military judgment -- attributes she shares with George W. Bush. posted 04/01/2008 at 10:57:30

How to Avoid a Democratic Disaster

No way! Hillary has emerged as a McCarthyesque terror-monger (the 3AM ad, the Pastor Wright nonsense) as well as a liar of comical and pathetic proportions (the shellfire over her head as she got off a plane in Bosnia). She and her husband would be a dishonest joke on President Obama, and I think he'd be very unwise to pick them. Furthermore, her judgment is mediocre (her role in enabling the Iraq invasion). My wife is a well-educated woman, and she thinks Hillary is disgusting. Mr. Obama can wage a campaign against McCain far better than Hillary, as he is not fatally compromised by support of the Iraq invasion. The sooner the superdelegates put Hillary out of her misery, the better for the Democratic party and our country. She is clearly unfit for the Presidency. posted 03/31/2008 at 21:39:37

Krugman On Mortgage Plans: Obama "Cautious," Clinton "Bold And Progressive"

I suspect Mr. Krugman hopes to be Federal Reserve Chairman if Hillary becomes president. His column says that economic policies (which he represents inaccurately) are one of the best gauges we have of what kind of president a candidate will be. He forgets or omits a couple of other matters. One is Hillary's furtiveness about her taxes and financial dealings. Another is her role in enabling the Iraq invasion. These are also gauges, and they indicate she would reveal the same secretiveness and poor military judgment we associate with George W. Bush. posted 03/28/2008 at 13:42:01

Clinton, Obama Backers Go Off Message On Fox News Sunday

Rendell is a corrupt buffoon. The superdelegates should reflect the will of the popular vote, and in that sense Kennedy and Richardson are merely recognizing the winner in their party. Time for fast Eddie to make himself useful for once, and help end the self-destructive trend of the Democrats, and help put the Clinton campaign out of business, as it should be. posted 03/23/2008 at 22:29:03

As a Pennsylvania voter, I note that Geraldine Ferraro"s words ("If [Obama] were a white man, he wouldn"t be in this position") are in the same ignoble ballpark as Governor Rendell"s remark: " I think there are some whites who are probably not ready to vote for an African-American candidate." Let"s play along, for a moment, with the tawdry "wisdom" these two Democratic superdelegates are sharing with us. Suppose both candidates " Mrs. Clinton and Mr. Obama " were white men. Both of them revealed the highest level of education, intelligence and brilliance. Both had websites that reveal thoughtful and detailed programs that would please any policy wonk " programs that could be debated and refined over the course of a Presidency. But, of the two, suppose one revealed, in addition, another vastly more treasurable attribute: wisdom " the wisdom, say, to keep our country out of dumb and unbelievably costly invasions " rather than helping to enable such invasions. And suppose one revealed, as well, the far greater, rarer, and more treasurable gift of inspiring multitudes, not just at home but abroad " an ability painfully missing for the last eight years. Which of the two would be the more desirable candidate for the Oval Office? Isn"t this the way to frame the debate? And isn"t the answer to the question obvious?

Instead, however, some of our Democratic leaders choose to express the lowest common "wisdom." They are reminiscent of the "fellow clergymen" whom Martin Luther King addressed in his 1963 "Letter from Birmingham City Jail," who called Dr. King"s activities "unwise and untimely." And one of our current Democratic candidates denigrates the ability to use words to inspire. Why should we level downward to the lowest common denominator? Are we really not ready to make any further progress beyond the limited gains of the years between Dr. King"s words and the present?

Rendell cannot be taken seriously. He knows perfectly well that the superdelegates can and should reflect the over-all will of the people, and he knows, further, that Mr. Obama has a substantial lead in the popular vote. It's time the superdelegates, as a whole, take their lead from Mr. Richardson and bring an end to the Clinton candidacy.

Clinton, Obama Reconciliation Becoming More And More Impossible

Who on earth would ever want to work with her? Bad judgment, dishonest, mediocre. The superdelegates should put her out of her misery pronto. She and her husband are too classless to end her campaign, so the superdelegates should do it for her. The sooner, the better for the party and the counry. posted 03/23/2008 at 20:14:22

Carville Compares Richardson Endorsement To Biblical Betrayal

Mr. Carville shows a sense of entitlement. He apparently thought that Mr. Richardson owed him and his fellow Clintonistas an endorsement of Billary -- or, at least, no endorsement of anyone else. Billary is clearly the inferior Democratic candidate. The sooner the superdelegats end his/her campaign, the better for the Democratic party and all of us. She is fatally compromised by her enabling of the Iraq invasion. This renders her self-proclaimed experience and readiness on day one nonsensical. posted 03/23/2008 at 14:18:59

Why Am I So Afraid

Excellent! The only cure for the party is for a swift demolition of the Hillary campaign by the superdelegates. They need to do what Richardson did. If enough of them do this, she will be finished, as she should be. She has clearly presented herself as divisive, possessed of bad judgment (her enabling of the Iraq invasion is all we need to know), lying, self-deluded, and self-centered. I hope like-minded folks will ask their superdelegates to reflect the lopsided popular vote as well as Mr. Obama's lead in pledged delegates, and put her out of her misery. Neither she nor her husband have the class to end their farce on their own -- so it's time for the superdelegates to end her campaign. This will free Mr. Obama up to concentrate fully on opposing Mr. McCain -- which he can do far better than Mrs. Clinton, anyway. posted 03/23/2008 at 20:09:31

The Day Hillary Clinton Knew She Had Lost

I hope a number of us, including the author of this article, deluge DNC headquarters with the message that it's time to put the Billary campaign out of its misery. If enough superdelegates line up with Mr. Richardson, that'll be the end -- thank God! -- and Mr. Obama will be freed to do what he can obviously do far better than Mrs. Clinton: run full time against Mr. McCain. Nothing but deepening ugliness lies ahead for the Democrats if they allow this farce to continue. I speak as a Pennsylvanian. Our primary is quite far off, and all we'll see is increased ugliness if we allow this nonsense to continue. The sooner her campaign ends, the better for the Democrats and the country. posted 03/23/2008 at 16:17:21

Another Bill Clinton Moment On The Campaign Trail

I agree with Governor Richardson that it"s time to rally around Mr. Obama. It is time the Democratic party stopped indulging the Clintons and put their campaign to bed. The "big dog" "s latest trick is to insinuate that Mr. Obama is unelectable because he"s black and he"s unpatriotic. The Clinton campaign thought they had it in the bag with the Wright videotape, but they obviously didn"t anticipate Mr. Obama"s politically transcendent response. By now, it"s obvious that Mrs. Clinton is politically pedestrian " ordinary, transparent, predictable. Mr. Obama has emerged as politically transcendent, and he needs to be the Democratic party"s nominee, the sooner the better. He needs to be freed up to campaign full time against Mr. McCain, and he can do this better than anybody else. Mrs. Clinton is fatally compromised by her role in enabling the Iraq invasion. posted 03/21/2008 at 22:55:52
