Speaking as a Ron Paul Republican who is friendly to whoever ends the war in Iraq, and generally seems to care about the principles of this country I will state the following: The Republicans will (and have through their media operatives) most certainly use the lowest of the low tactics against Obama, and fan the flames of Nationalism in the guise of Patriotism as the primary vehicle to that end. The neocons infest the decision-making machinery of the party to such an extent that the popular will of most GOP members is roundly ignored.

My advice to y'all, the high road is nice to be on, but keep a nice sturdy walking stick handy to knock off the coming pack of dogs. I'd appreciate the political theatre a bit more if people weren't suffering and dying for the very un-conservative policies of the current GOP ruling faction. posted 07/03/2008 at 15:22:06

Memo to Obama: Moving to the Middle is for Losers

"The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated" Is a perfect language for a right that protects a citizens right to privacy. It makes perfect sense that government (which tends to overreach regardless of factional political leanings) should be held to a check and balance process when it intends to investigate, or assert that there is, a crime.
