Obama Casts Race Between Him, McCain

Oh, is that all he is? I'll go out and tell the 13,355,209 guilt-ridden "White" (sic) libs to wake up and smell the McCain...

How about assembling a rational argument instead of trying to lure people into the echo chamber of conservative buzz-topics? There's an idea! posted 04/01/2008 at 21:46:44

This is absolutely right; we were indeed both invaders and occupiers of Germany and Japan (and Italy for that matter). However, there is a small difference in that our occupation in those countries was not accompanied by continued hostilities, let alone a relentless insurgency. posted 04/01/2008 at 21:09:34
"dirty and dismissive tactics" explanation?

Michigan and Florida were not sanctioned contests. They broke pre-established rules. If Democrats in those states were concerned about being disenfranchised, they should have raised the issue with their state legislators before they embarked on a reckless course of action.

Moreover, your pejorative description of Obama's supporters hardly makes you sound like the kind of person with Democrats' best interests at heart. I understand that UARE4CLINTON, but please, if you're going to accuse someone of being dismissive, why adopt the exact same stance in your criticism? It just seems...hypocritical. posted 04/01/2008 at 21:05:35

Lou Dobbs Almost Calls Condi A "Cotton Picker"

"Hate mongering"? You're one to talk about "hate mongering" when you start your post with a blatantly xenophobic, irrational statement like "You people would endorse the takeover of this country by Latin American countries..." To that end, no amount of straw man arguments are going to make a difference when you turn around and interpolate yourself at the end of the post.

Incidentally, I haven't heard anyone - on either side of the aisle - talk about "giving up sovereignty" of this country. Judging by the premises of your argument, you think that by modernizing our immigration policy we'll somehow end up with a feudal system run by a Nicaraguan king. posted 03/31/2008 at 19:44:59

Obama Posts Six Years Of Tax Returns

Seriously! We don't want to elect someone who might get measles on the job and be unable to answer the 3am phone call.

Dropping these tax returns on Hillary's head was a strong move. Although the Obama's are obviously very well-off, I'd imagine that if Pennsylvania taxpayers got a look at Bill's speaking fees and the Clintons' investment income, it would be harder for her to make the case that she's "fighting for average Americans". posted 03/25/2008 at 13:15:24

Limbaugh's Lying Voters Under Investigation

Absolutely. She's not particular about how she wins. This kind of electoral dillydallying bugs the hell out of me in any event. It's especially irksome when a destructive buffoon like Rush Limbaugh is promoting it. Today's SJ Merc had a column by former high-powered political consultant Clint Reilly that warned these Limbaugh minions against "tactical voting".

I'm an Obama supporter, but the case studies he presented detailing unintended political consequences were good ones: http://www.clintreilly.com/?p=158 posted 03/25/2008 at 15:38:32

Oh, The Hannity! Sean Hannity's Flip-Flop Between Wright And Falwell

Right on the money, unfortunately, on every account. It would take an entire research university operating at full capacity to collect, categorize and analyze Sean Hannity's record of hypocritical nonsense and laughably fallacious "arguments".

Sure, we'll be getting plenty of Rev. Wright nonsense if Obama is the nominee, but I would hope that we've learned enough to take that kind of BS head-on and beat it. I would hope. posted 03/25/2008 at 12:39:23

Clinton Aide: Richard Endorsement Insignificant

Most definitely not. I was purely making a joke about Bush (those still play, right?). I really wasn't making any kind of value judgment on Hillary at all, just poking fun at an administration that finds it acceptable to label a former president, "irrelevant" in his entirety. (Not only his statements, but his very being.) posted 03/21/2008 at 17:59:12
Right! You're a TRAITOR if you don't support the tried-and-true political methodology of mindless quid-pro-quo!! TRAITOR, Bill Richardson! You actually brought a level of mental acuity to the table when you sat down to determine your endorsement! How dare you!?!?! Shame on you for not taking the easy road and falling in line like a good vanquished competitor. Jerk face.

I believe they called Jimmy Carter - the man himself, not his comments - "irrelevant," which is to say that while Hillary's campaign people are becoming more Republican every day, they have not quite reached the most stupefying heights of unwarranted ad hominem attacks that the Bush Administration still occupies. posted 03/21/2008 at 15:03:56

Mayhem At Fox News: Anchor Walks Off Set, Wallace Rails Network For "Obama-Bashing"

Fox? Character?

I think we're just being treated to the same Jerry Springeresque histrionics that we've come to expect from Fox. I think it's pretty transparent really: you have one of your personalities do something like this or defend a Democrat every six months and then claim that you're exhibiting a level of "balance" and/or "fairness". That it comes within the context of relentless unsubstantiated bashing doesn't poison the well, does it? Oh, right; it does.l posted 03/21/2008 at 17:52:41
