Note too that I am a devotee of Daniel Patrick Moynihan, a self-made man who worked for four administrations, two of each; was an unapolgetic intellectual, who warned long before it was fashionable of the hazards of the welfare state; who advocated a Guaranteed Annual Income, in lieu of invidious bureuacracy; and who, alas, would be labelled a neocon today by the simpleminded fringe within my party. I am mostly moderate, Christian, and prefer reasoned discussions free of gratuitous slurs.
