I believe that American democracy is direly threatened by the lobbying process. We have to separate elected officials from the money machines they depend upon for election funding. All political election contributions, corporate and individual, have to be pooled anonymously and divided equally between eligible registered candidates for office. Only in this way can the individual voter regain primacy and our elected officials regain their independence from lobbyists.
