however, it is VERY SAD that you cannot embrace this historic moment and give kudos to Senator Obama. As Democrats who stand for equality and civil rights for all, this is a true celebratory moment. posted 06/04/2008 at 19:11:51

Clinton Says Obama Wants to Stop Votes

I respect your view, but while you are massaging the pros of an unwanted birth, let me remind you that it takes a TREMENDOUS amount of time, commitment, and $$ to raise them (and I have two of the little darlings).

Now, with that in mind, who is going to help young mothers raise their "gift from the unknown." Will YOU be generously donating money every month for diapers, formula, clothes, shoes, child care (so young mothers can finish school ). No? I didn't think so.

It is inspirational and lovely to think love will conquer all, but in this society a young girl needs to know EXACTLY what a live changing event will mean. posted 04/01/2008 at 16:50:17

I think a small paper in California picked up the quote and ran with.

That is just incredibly myopic... and silly. I don't understand how people (on either side) justify pouting at home, and/or switching parties. No one will remember or care that you took a stand for your nominee, but people will be incredibly intolerant of your complaining of the McCain Administration when they understand you voted for him, or worse yet, didn't vote at all!!

HRC is hardly trustworthy, but if she wins the nomination, I WILL RALLY and vote for her.

Actually, you probably know bi-racial people who are prejudiced. There really is a difference. And, when we get down to it, we are talking about prejudice against certain races rather than true racism.

BTW, you are conversing with a minority who has experienced racism in this country FIRST HAND. I have earned the right to speak on this issue more than someone who "knows several bi-racial people." posted 03/30/2008 at 18:06:10

I think it would have been perfectly reasonable for HRC to have confused the Bosnia trip with others. But here is the difference:

Hillary kept bringing up Bosnia again...and again....and again while on the campaign trail. And everytime she did, the trip was more dangerous and harrowing.

Hillary runs her campaign on international experience. Obama may refer to his father on the trail, but Obama Sr. is hardly the focus of his campaign.

Calling the two incidents hypocritical is a bit of a stretch. posted 03/30/2008 at 16:17:17

Pretty snarky of the Post...the speech was given a year ago...not repeatedly on the campaign trail. Bit of a stretch isn't it?

Are these donations from direct companies or from employees of that company? It seems that if oil companies would like party favors, they would have to donate more than $6500.

I agree with your post, but I do not, for a moment, believe HRC will end the war based on her campaign promise.

I did not support the war from the beginning and am sickened by the escalation of violence, loss of our troops, and the humanitarian crisis it has created. However, in January the US will have to access the war in Iraq and determine the BEST way to withdraw based on current status, and not political promises made in April.

HRC and her credibility concerning policy is incredibly inconsistent. She supported NAFTA; privately disagreed. She voted for the war; privately disagreed. I believe in January, she will support more military presence in Iraq, but privately disagree. posted 03/28/2008 at 11:56:45

Shallow media bytes...are you for real? The effects of NAFTA and Iraq are very real and it takes very little research to understand why.

As for my credentials, I studied NAFTA (The North America Free Trade Agreement) in school and in great detail. To summarize for you, NAFTA has weakened the American economy as well as caused numerous environmental and humanitarian crisis in Canada and Mexico. Here are a few key cons:

Chapter 11
Chapter 19
Chapter 20
Chapter 14
US deindustrialization

In addition, I am starting to think you may be too young to remember what happened when we went to war. It was an extreme disappointment that HRC did not step forward to speak out against the war, choosing to hide behind the badge of patriotism. HRC SHOULD have tied the hands of president, because as history has proven, the Iraq war was certainly NOT NECESSARY!!

BTW, the development of NAFTA and Iraq have little to do with Obama and tons to do with HRC. Now, if you know a different truth about NAFTA or the Iraq war, please let us know!!! posted 03/25/2008 at 18:45:13
Really, only those supporting HRC would believe there is an "electability" issue. Reverend Wright did not affect American policy. In contrast, HRC supported NAFTA and voted for the war. Why are voters who support HRC so quick to overlook this?

As an Obama blogger, I am sorry your candidate is now losing, but that is no one else's fault but her own!

BTW, I have no hate for the Clintons. I supported Bill Clinton. I have NEVER supported Hillary Clinton because she remained silent while this country was steered into war. Now either she was duped (hard to believe when even I knew the war was a terrible idea) or she purposely voted for the war to avoid any questions about her patriotism in her upcoming run for President. But as much as I do not trust her intentions, I would have voted for her in November to bring a change to the White House.

It is sad that people cannot recognize leadership when it comes before them. Of course Obama is a politician. But Obama is a politician who is defending himself against a negative campaign originally introduced and continued by the Clinton camp. When Kerry ran for president, he was spineless against any attack by Bush or the media. I admire Obama for not allowing other "politicians" an endless opportunity to smear his name.

It is probably not worth attempting to change your view of Revrend Wright and the church, I have lived the minority experience in this country for almost 40 years, and after reading countless posts and opinions by academia from all over this country, I can tell you that either you "get it" or you don't. Your unyielding absolutes in consideration to Obama, his relationship to the Reverend, and the Church clearly tell me...you don't get it.
