As a woman I have always been aware of sexism in this country. But this election is a real eye opening education for me to see how much racism this nation had held in hiding. All those diversity talks and all those pretty statements people makes about equality humanity around the world - the minute they see a black man running for President they find every excuse to dislike this man - even he is really half white after all. I came to this country 18 years ago and I thought racism was a story a long time ago. People are mad to hear other people calling them out for taking racism positions. JoeMN, did you look at policy details from both candidates? Many experts said they are very much the same on major issues. The difference is, to me, who can be trusted to get us there as they say. I believe that there are a lot of good ideas die in Washington because the ill way of politics there - divisive grid-lock and sold out politicians. As an independent I am willing to give Obama a chance to turn that ill landscape around with millions people willing to work for that change. I am speaking to you as an individual who has been a professor for over 20 years and I hired and am work alongside many non-tenure track faculty members as professors. And at my modest university we have 1000 professors, so to assure you what I am talking about. So take my words that Obama said nothing but truth that he was a professor.
