I asked someone over there about these rocket attacks on the Green Zone since they are always portrayed over here as armageddon and then used to stir up the unwashed here.
He replied ...
"We had incoming about 4 times a day on average, ... I didn't see any damage anywhere. I guess they need a little more practice."
and ...
"In the green zone- the rockets were usually one and sometimes two at a time. I only remember once that I heard three booms. But the green zone is a big place so there were times that the siren would go off, I'd head into a bunker, and not hear anything. Also, since the palace is so well fortified, anyone on the ground floor when the siren sounds just goes about their business, and they don't even hear the impacts. I never got any feedback on who or what was damaged while I was there. The closest one was when I was in the PX when I heard a round land outside- that was the one that was (possibly) within 500 meters, which I only estimated by how loud it was (in short- louder than the rest of the background noise, not close enough to shake the ground)"
