Russert's Legacy: A Woman Meeting the Press?

I believe that NBC should take this opportunity to return Meet the Press to its original format of a revolving group of JOURNALISTS instead of a single host. I think the last thing viewers need is to have one PUNDIT replaced by another , be they male or female. I don't consider any of the people you listed, except Gwen Ifill, to be actual journalists who will ask tough questions of all of their guests regardless of their political affiliation. But even Ifill, should she be "elevated" to the position of regular weekly host will still eventually be poisoned by her need to maintain access to the Washington elites. It happened to Bob Woodward, it happened to Tim Russert and it will, eventually happen to Gwen Ifill. We don't need another "access journalist" to help politicians score political points, we need someone to hold the politicians feet to the fire and not allow them a venue to spin the facts. Amy Goodman of DemocracyNow! is one of the only true JOURNALISTS who fulfills these professional obligations today. She is the only reason I would spend an hour of my week watching Meet the Press. posted 06/21/2008 at 07:58:57

Keith Olbermann Slams Page Six, Denies Interest In "Meet The Press" Job, Admits He's Not Qualified

Phil Donahue would be an excellent choice! Much better than most of the talking heads listed in this thread. The only other JOURNALIST that I see mentioned is Bill Moyers. The rest of these people are all Washingtom Insiders who will, eventually, suffer the same fate of Tim Russert and Bob Woodward. That is, to maintain access to the power brokers in Washington, you have to provide them with a venue to spin the facts, even if it is in the form of seemingly "tough" questions. If NBC wants to consider a woman, I could definitely support Amy Goodman of Democracy Now!, another true journalist who isn't afraid to hold politicians feet to the fire. posted 06/21/2008 at 08:09:38

Barack Obama: Lay Off My Family

She also refuses to release her tax returns which should be an issue. If she wants to be the First Stepford Wife, her records need to be public just like McAncient's. posted 06/18/2008 at 18:08:22

Dow Plummets Nearly 400 Points On Unemployment News, High Oil Prices

Not to mention the fact that the Republican minority has managed to block almost all of the Democrats' attempts to start cleaning up Bush's and HIS Congress' mess. These 19-percenters are pretty pathetic! posted 06/06/2008 at 20:26:40

David Gregory Gets Dance Tips From Chris Brown, Dances (VIDEO)

Is there a point to this story? Who cares that David Gregory can dance? Can he sing too? What difference does it make if he can't do the job that he gets paid to do on a nightly basis? Oh, wait a second.. maybe he does do the job that he gets paid to do. That is, carrying the water for the Bush misadministration who has been very profitable to the people who sign Gregory's paychecks, GE. I really can't understand the Huffington Post's insistence on trying to humanize the very people who helped create the worst foreign policy blunder in American History. David Gregory, as well as Tim Russert, "Bri-Wi" and the rest of the corporate talking heads should try doing their job for a change instead of trying to impress us with their irrelevant "skills" posted 06/09/2008 at 07:31:46

Fox Hosts Claim Friday's Walk-Off Was A Joke

Of course it was a joke! I heard them laughing as it was happening. Who thought he was serious? posted 03/25/2008 at 07:34:12
