What a wonderful thing you did for those kids that got cut. I am 53 and still can feel the sting of getting cut from the Varsity basketball team (in my mind) I had no business being cut from. What you did for your "Rebels" will be in their hearts a long, long time.

He stated "chances are. How can "chances are" be an absolute?

It was apparent from the beginning that you had talent. Who knew you would have the heart of a lionness? You are beautiful, funny, energetic, caring, generous and most importantly brave. Pretty damn good qualifications for being a Mother. Congratulations to you and Ian. May love and goodness continue to fill your souls.

Albert, babe, love your work, but I think you miss the point. First of all, I don't think Obama is the type of guy who can be bullied into an apology from the likes of a Sean Hannity. You REALLY think so? Secondly, the silly thing was a diversion from being jumped on for saying he only spoke to "live" presidents, and better to take a shot at a liberal joke than to have one's gaffe played on a loop on Fox. Albert, you're a pro. Come on! Get with it. BTW.......loved your Belson tribute. Funniest ten minutes of my life.

The sad fact of the matter is Obama is that he ran on the statement he would at least meet with the Republican opponent. I don't get why he won't meet with the man over such an important issue before reversing himself. It would have given him a lot more credibility when he changed his mind. I am sure there were some who voted for him in the primary because this was one of his positions.

As posted before, get out your dictionary. Post word for word definition #1 from Webster's. You are wrong. Again.

Yes, there is a club with a tree fort and a password and everything. This is a ludicrous comment. All the majors care about is money. When Sandra Bullock can open a movie, she gets movies. When she can't anymore, she doesn't. Same for Tom Hanks. In Hollywood, success begets another film. If film makers like Nancy Meyers or Nora Ephron continue to provide big hits, they get another big budget movie. If Tamara Jenkins or Cody Diablo choose to move to the studio ladder, they'll get a shot - just like Nia Vardalos has. It's a business. This secret society you imply simply does NOT exist. Just follow the money and leave your paranoia behind. You do feminism a huge disservice.

Some of the best players are old and overweight. Talented? Yes. Athletes? Hell no! Under this flawed logic these Hall of Famers (or future) wouldn't be. Tony Guinn Shaquille O'Neal Gaylord Perry BABE RUTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Larry Allen Charles Barkley George Blanda Alexander Tikhonow That's eight "chubbies" off the top of my head.

First of all, you need to read Webster's and understand the definition of "sport." Golf is most certainly a sport. You apparently don't know the professional game very well. These guys are athletes, pure and simple. Does that make the weekend hacker a professional caliber athelte? No. But neither does it make a guy or a girl playing weekend flag football, or tennis, an athlete, either. And it's a wonderful sport which has brought joy (AND frustration) to millions worldwide.

Yes, he is built like a professional football defensive back. Ask all the professional athletes who all say the exact same thing about him. You were saying? LOL

Of course golf is a sport. Just because Casey Martin can't walk comfortably from hole to hole doesn't mean he's not an athlete. I would imagine Casey ,EVERYDAY, spends hours pounding ball after ball after ball after ball. Try hitting 1000 balls a day, big guy, for a month straight and let us know how you feel. I would be willing to bet you couldn't do it physically, much less mentally. To thumb your nose at (those horrible!) country club golfers is akin to thumbing your nose at dads who play pick up basketball with their neighbors - how dare they consider themselves athletes! Well, they don't. They have fun. They bond. They compete. It's human nature. I guess it is also human nature to have some invited guest at a party make some sort of snide remark hoping to get some attention. That seems to be the sport of choice for you. I may be wrong because I wasn't at the party, but I'd be willing to lay odds you were "friendless" before your dumb statement. Also...I read in your BIO that you claim to be a sportswriter. You use a quote from Ichiro about Tiger not being athletic, but fail to recognize the irony that Tiger is 3 times the "athlete" that Ichiro is. As a sportwriter, how do you suppose you missed that?

I don't think Ford was lying. I think he was taking the math of 2 tanks of gas a week as his premise (for those Tenesseans who commute long distances) and multiplying them out over the course of 3 months. A friend of mine in Tennessee puts 40,000 mikes per year on her car, so it doesn't seem that far-fetched. Also, what Matthews correctly pointed out, that Ford more or less agreed with, putting yet another arrow in the heart of your "surrogate" theory ,was Hillary wouldn't be able to get Bush to sign the law, therefore making it pandering, plain and simple. Without Bush's signature, there is no law to suspend the tax. And Hillary, has got to know that.

Who was the journalist? I don't believe Ms. Huffington was a journalist way back then. Wasn't she a Republican operative?

It wasn't a Clinton surrogate. It was Harold Ford Jr. If you get your facts straight, people may buy your premise.

Agree with mamacat. "The Visitor" and the documentary, "Young @ Heart" ar the 2 best movies of the Spring. Wondering Aloud Department : How does Patrick Dempsey get these huge parts in movies? I am looking forward to Indy 4 the most of your bunch, though I am not usually a fan of franchise pictures.

Um, Rahm, the rule didn't save basball in the least. The home run and the new, little parks did. Ir was McGuire&Sosa (then Bonds) playing in band-box stadiums (albeit they all seemed to be juiced). It was cable & satellite covering just about every game. It was no more labor strikes. As a point of fact, playoff and World Series games drastically fall in TV ratings every year. Last year a World Series game actually lost to Dancing With The Stars. The success of baseball is in the season. Your overall point is well-taken. You just need to trade your speech writer for cash or a player to be named later.

I think after today's events I can safely rest my case and also applaud Obama for lambasting this idiot. It'll probably take 2 or 3 tries to fully rid himself of this ClingOn, and I hope he stays tough. I would imagine this is all pretty hard for you to swallow, so I'll just close by saying I wish you and yours luck, and no hard feelings. Wright fooled Obama himself.
