Washington Post Publishes Specious Story On Obama Home Loan

So where is the story here? He got good rate so what? How about the McCains not paying property taxes for 4 years on one of their seven (count 'em) houses? Cindy simply can't say she over looked it. Everyone who owns property knows that you have to pay property taxes. Maybe the tax bill got buried under all those no-interest credit card bills. The Obama's have no credit card debt and have managed a great campaign. Makes you think, huh? posted 07/02/2008 at 15:57:35

Americans Can't Allow McCain to Continue Bush's Failed Policies in the "War on Drugs"

Any person with a brain (and our government and the most of the people who work for it don't) realizes that you can not regulate something that is illegal. That said, there is a lot of money tied up in the 'war on drugs'; from the DEA on down. The military gets money and gadgets to use. The DEA has been known to promote drug use in the inner city just to promote their continued existence.

This issue is one of many that will eventually bring the US to its knees. We waste tons of money on this phoney war as well as the phoney war in Iraq. It would be far better to spend the money on treatment and education and legalize some of more harmless drugs (pot) and quit trying to make this a moral question. But that makes far too much sense and besides too many businesses and government entities have too much money tied up in the way things are currently run. This country is headed for a real downfall and not just because of drugs. posted 07/02/2008 at 15:44:01

Stephen Baldwin On Fox News: If Obama Wins, I'll Leave The Country

Does he really think we care. He might be quite happy in one those countries that the republicans like to tout as good examples of democracies ie., Columbia, Peru, Iraq. posted 07/02/2008 at 18:58:19

Poll: Joe Lieberman Sinking At Home As He Campaigns For McCain

Lieberman represents the state of Israel not the state of Connecticutt which he is supposed to. My prediction is that he will be gone when his time comes around in 4 years. I always thought it was a mistake for Gore to choose this guy as his running mate 8 years ago. He is such a nerdy looking character and totally inappropriate for VP. Then 4 years later his ego was bruised when the democratic party rejected him as a candidate. Remember? He, like Hillary, felt that he was entitled to be considered first because he had been the VP candidate in the last election cycle.
Can you imagine him as president? We would be at war right now with the entire middle-east. I think that Lieberman should move to Israel (after the state of Connecticutt retires him) and run for prime minister there. posted 07/01/2008 at 12:21:47

Defending Wes Clark

Both Generals comments are correct. Being a POW is not a qualification for president. They were not questioning or putting down his service; they were saying it is not a qualification. The media, being the dimwits that most of them are, with the help of the republicans with all their mocking anger twisted those remarks. And, by the way, they did not come out of Obama's mouth.
McCain's judgement is open to question though because of his decision to support the invasion of Iraq, a country that had not attacked us. I would like to know what led McCain to make that decision and his continued support of the president on nearly every vote before congress. The Iraq war has led to the economic downturn in this country (yes, the economy and the war are linked) as well as higher oil costs (demand is also involved there) and our country's loss of good standing in the world. McCain, with a push from his pal Lieberman, is going to get us involved in another ill-advised war in Iran, if he can somehow lie and fear monger us into going along. So yes, McCain's judgement is very much open to question and the Obama campaign and the democratic party should be really hammering away on that. posted 07/01/2008 at 12:55:42

Thoughts on Sen. Obama's Decision to Opt Out of Public Financing

As a Obama supporter, I am glad he opted out. Anyone with half-a-brain knows that the republicans will lean on their 527s (with tons of money) to do their dirty work for them and McCain will not need to spend as much. While I give only to Obama and will honor his request not to give to any democratic 527s, I know that they will continue NOT to support McCain and will run their ads against him. It would have been political sucide on Obama's part to have accepted public financing. McCain knows that; he as much admitted that he had know power over the 527s that support him. End of discussion. The internet age has changed campaigns forever and 85 million just does not cover it anymore.

Morningdude and Happydae can whine all they want but Obama's campaign has been more publically financed by the 'little people' then any other. We are sick of the republicans and want to kick them out of Washington. I will go even further and say that there are a few democrats I would like see go too but for the moment getting rid of the kneejerk, fear mongering republicans is more important. posted 06/19/2008 at 17:41:34

As Long As We're Talking About Michelle Obama, Did You Know Cindy McCain Was A Drug Addict?

I would like to see a campaign without dirt being flung at the spouses however if Michelle Obama had had C. McCain's problems with drugs the republicans would have been all over it. Instead she has been portrayed as some sort of virtuous person because she came forward and went into rehab right away. Wrong, she was confronted with reports of her thievery and given a choice: rehab or the big house. The DEA also protected her privacy until she had the employee fired who turned her in. So there you have it. Must be nice to be rich, and married to a senator. Talk about an elitist. So now she is saying she thinks most Americans want a nice, traditional family in the Whitehouse. What does that mean? A white family?

I could care less if Cindy McCain was addicted to opiates what is of more concern is that she stole the drugs. Stole the drugs from her own charity and therefore from people who needed them. Sounds more like a low-life junkie to me. That is a question of character. By the way, if look at the time line of when this occured, her husband's calling a trollop and using the 'c' word happened at roughly the same time. I wonder if he knew what we all know now? Personally, if I were Cindy McCain, I would keep quiet. posted 06/19/2008 at 18:21:10

Christian Ministry Attacks Obama and Lies About Bibles For Our Troops

More fear. A true Christian does not need to live in fear. Has anyone seen 'V for Vendetta'? It is a good example of how politicians/government and certain politically connected 'ministers' use religion, war and crime as a fear weapon to gain power. There is a great line in the movie that says 'goverment should fear its people; not the people fearing their government.'

You only truly fearless when you face your fears and move past them. The republicans and these supposed 'christian ministers' do not want you to become fearless; that would be counter productive to their efforts to have a permanent republican majority and power over our daily lives. Hardly the great democracy that America is supposed to be. It is time to end this fascist/republican attempt to take over this country. posted 06/14/2008 at 11:22:05

McCains Have $100,000 In Credit Card Debt

So why hasn't this question of a sweetheart deal with American Express been raised and used in the broader media? An even better question is why does Cindy (ex-iunkie) even need to use a credit card? If they are truly the fiscal conservatives they paint themselves to be, they would paying cash. But, why should they, when AmEpress seems to be willing to give them money interest-free and with a bottomless time to pay it off. I think all of us would love to have a sweet deal like that.

McCain is truly out of touch with most people's lives and should not be trusted to make important financial decisions that will affect all of us. He does not have a clue. His answer to personal financial crisis would be for all of us to find a rich person to marry. posted 06/14/2008 at 10:54:40

Tom DeLay: 'Unless Obama Proves Me Wrong, He's A Marxist'

Does anyone believe this jerk? I think that old marxist tag is pretty old and lame these days. Tom Delay does not get it. The people for Obama are part of a movement that wants to take back our government from the republican/fascist party that has been systematically destroying the country.

If Obama is a marxist then Delay and the republican party are a bunch of fascsts. Yes they are because of their love of corporations being activily involved in lobbying and writing bills. The fact that republicans feel that government should be run like a business. Take away everyones right to privacy and spend enormous sums of money on the military. Forget about the middle-class and the poor. If the republican/fascists had it their way they would round up all the poor a put them in camps somewhere (say New Orleans). Tom Delay belongs in jail, how about the supermax! posted 06/06/2008 at 12:58:27

John McCain's Ethical Double Standards

I think as time goes on the media are going to get tired of is same old comments coming from McCain and are going to be really pushing him especially about the lobbyists. The other side will demand it and the 527s will be running ads about his cozy relationships with the lobbying, banking and communications businesses. His handlers will demand that he clam-up and the fawning from the media will end.

I think the MSM needs to rotate their reporters from canidate-to-canidate so that none of them can get too cozy with their subjects. This business of cozying up to your subject does a huge disservice to the very people that they are reporting too and they lose credibility. Dana Bash has lost all cred with me. Hey, Dana, the surge is NOT working, have you been watching the news out of Iraq lately? posted 03/27/2008 at 15:11:36
