Pelosi Wants Bush To Release Some Oil From Strategic Reserves

I seriously doubt there is any oil in the Reserves, Bush has probably pumped it dry and sold it. If there is why should we use it. then have to buy it back at a higher price. Come on Speaker lets have some backbone and look the problem in the eye. Quick political moves are not helping. posted 07/08/2008 at 19:54:01

My Position On FISA

Senator I agree we will disagree on issues, but I expect companies and Presidents to act in a lawful manner. Giving retroactive Immunity for a crime not yet defined goes against my sense of right and wrong. This also sets precedent that a President can commit a crime then have the Congress pardon him and co conspirators. The Democratic Leader tried to sneak this legislation through right after they had cleared Primary challenges and before they went on July break.
Yes you will take a few lumps on this, but my anger is directed towards the Democratic leadership who pushed this through. posted 07/04/2008 at 10:27:15

Washington Post Publishes Specious Story On Obama Home Loan

Jason they got him. He got a 1.32 M loan with 20% down on a 30 year fixed rate at the market rate. The Washington post uses the rate when he closed the loan to dispute the rate he recieved. But what was the rate when he applied for the loan or when he locked in the loan. I paid no points or fees with my bank when I bought my house with pretty much the same circumstances. Good credit, savings, and income all determine the loan. Just another story to inspire false outrage. posted 07/03/2008 at 10:49:54
Aubrey did you read the story? Obama borrowed 1.32 M to buy a 1.65 M house. It appears Obama put down $330,000 on the house as a down payment. His interest rate is very close to the rate I recieved on my loan. Good credit, savings and future earnings are considered important. posted 07/03/2008 at 10:07:15

McCain must not be much of a leader if he can not control his own party. The Republicans pride theirselves on party discipline. Hard to believe that the Presidential nominee has no say with his surrogates. As President will he act like the loser we have now, allowing his people to attack then skirting the blame. Saying he cant control his own people. A man who wants to be President must set the example, stand up for all the people not just his party. Keith Olbermann, Glenn Greenwald Feud Over FISA

I am a big fan of Keith but I agree with Glenn we need to hold Obama's feet to the fire on Telecom Immunity. I understand this is a loser on both sides for Obama. If Obama fights on the issue the Republicans paint him as weak on terror and for Progressives this is a core issue on the Constitution and privacy. Keith has a blind spot for Obama which Glenn is right about. The real fault lies with the Democratic leadership in the House and Senate, but Obama is now part of that leadership now.
Keith's arguement that they can be held criminally responsible when Obama is President is valid, but Bill Clinton had the same option when he first took over and failed to act. Compitulation seems to be the only thing this Democratic Congress is consistant on.
As a fan, Keith we need to hold the Democrats and Senator Obama responsible for this. We must stand on our core issues, just winning the Presidency is not the only issue. posted 06/28/2008 at 14:11:18

With no plan just tamping down violence does nothing to resovle the issues in Iraq. Thus theSurge or Escalation as we like to call it just pushed the civil war down the road. Civil war will start after the next election no matter the outcome. If Obama wins the violence will probably begin as the American troops leave areas of Iraq. If McCain wins the violence will start in December or January. The factions might compromise if we involve Iran and Saudi Arabia in negotiations, which might happen under an Obama administration. McCain's Secret, Questionable Record

Many of the revelations in this articles are not surprising to me. As an Admiral son I am sure he recieved special treatment. To graduate near last in your Academy class does not rate a trip to Pilot school. To crash 1 Aircraft the navy will rarely put a pilot back in the seat. To crash 2 aircrafts any other pilot would be lucky if they even allowed him on the Flight deck. That he was shot down over Vietnam is not surprising. What is surprising is the navy keep puting him back in the seat.
John McCain served as many of us did in the service he was not an exceptional officer, but somehow rose to the rank of Captain. Flag officers are not elevated before the alloted time without an exceptional record. It is clear his career was in most part due to his father and grandfather. Even if 20% of Democrats will not vote for the other Democratic candidate, because they did not get their way. That still leaves 80% of democrats in any state to vote for the Presidential candidate, 30% more than Republicans.
I see no logic in this Big State arguement. We need to take this campaign to all 50 states not just the big Swing States. Make McCain have to run a 50 state campaign.

No matter what personal faults our candidates have, those are not as important to me. What worries me is our soldiers trapped in Iraq with no leadership in the Whitehouse willing to tell the American people the real facts, and take responsibility for their mistakes. They wont pressure the Iraqi Government to take control of their own destiny. My neighbors worry about making their mortgage payments in a failing economy as our so called President keeps saying the economy is strong. We look at trips to the doctor and buying medication as a financial descision not a practical decision.

We need leadership from our next President I do not care if they are black, white, asian, latino, man or woman. I want someone who will tell us the truth, no matter how hard it might be to hear and tell it to me so I and the rest of my fellow Americans can understand. Hey Mr Stockholder we will be happy to not shop at your stores. Thanks for the advice. posted 04/01/2008 at 17:06:27
Those who are supporting Walmart might want ot look at who is paying for her healthcare now. The American taxpayer is now paying the bill for Debbie Shank's healthcare. The money now comes out of your tax dollar since she now falls under Medicare. But lets not blame Walmart. posted 04/01/2008 at 16:53:25

"Morning Joe" Jealousy? CNN's "American Morning" To Try To Become "Looser," "More Accessible"

Big Mac's Blazing Saddle Diplomacy

McCain needs to get his policy out there so the Republicans can get their one dimensional talking points together. Let him get on the record, so hopefully Obama and Clinton will turn and start picking his argument apart. Unfortunately I am too much of an optimist. posted 03/27/2008 at 10:45:54

Smears and Tears: How Obama's National Security Week Turned Into the Mendacity of Hype

Joe I find it ironic that you come out with a hit job piece using Reverend Wright in part of your attack. I would hope you would show more character after being smeared by the Bush Administration. Talk about policy and how it will affect us but don't bring mudsling Republican tactics to your arguement. Like the Clintons, I have now lost respect for you also. Kind of makes me wonder if my past support was a mistake. posted 03/27/2008 at 10:57:33

Clinton: This Race Will Last Three More Months

I have lost all respect for her. I dont like the negative campaign that started just before Texas. Maybe she should turn some of that anger and direct it towards McCain to show us how she is a fighter. But I guess it is easier to attack your own party. posted 03/26/2008 at 10:59:37

Chris Wallace Regrets Speaking Out On Obama Bashing: "I'm Not Sure I'd Do It Again"

I guess Chris Wallace is a little niave. He must not have noticed the right wing slant at Faux News. I thought he was a little more intelligent than that. Maybe he was trying to get some credibility as a news anchor. A little to late for that Chris, you might have to start covering the news objectively before we start taking you serious. posted 03/26/2008 at 10:38:13

Who Gets Us Out of the Mess?

With this economy I can not afford to buy a dictionary, and fuel cost are to high to drive to the Library. Good point anyway. posted 03/26/2008 at 10:52:15

Is Hillary Positioning for 2012?

Florida and Michigan broke the rules. What about the other 48 states that followed the rules? Florida and Michigan could have moved up to Super Tuesday like others did, but no they moved up past Super Tuesday. They were told they would be sanctioned and they were. If Florida and Michigan voters are upset they should take their anger out on the Florida and Michigan lawmakers this election period. It is not Obama's fault they broke the rules, it is their elected officials. posted 03/23/2008 at 10:50:17
