Chuck Hagel: Quit Talking About The Surge, Focus On War's Future

So what your saying is that the surge which is a (temporary increase) in reality has not achieved its goals. It came up short, It failed. Also you just told me in that Foxnews reported that the surge has failed by pointing out how the liberal New York TImes attempted to bury the fact that the surge has failed.

Damn that liberal media. posted 07/25/2008 at 05:59:29

John McCain and "the Creeps"

America has an image and idea of who and what John McCain is based on the 2000 election when he earned a reputation as a straight talking maverick who is just like you. Unfortunately for him now that he has the undivided attention of all Americans we are rapidly finding out that he is a man with no principles or honor. He is in fact not the straight talking maverick that the media has made him out to be and then consistantly reinforced over the last seven years, but rather an angry, old man with a chip on his shoulder and a penchant for saying the wrong thing at any given moment.

John McCain allowed the party he represents and the man he supports and wants to replace to attack his family and lie about his children, he has allowed torture to continue in his name, he has supported unprecedented deficit spending, he has supported the taking of rights from American citizens for reasons he cannot articulate, he has flip flopped on any number of issues that will affect future generations, he has waffled on supporting veteran benefits, he has embraced the most radical elements of his party, he has ignored the will of the American people, he has supported and encouraged the division and seperation of the American people based on fear, race, sexuality and religion and proven beyond a doubt to not be representatve of the future I want for my children in America. posted 07/24/2008 at 17:54:47

The Land Of 10,000 Lakes And Even More Guns

Semper Fi what are you scared of? Why don't you have any faith in the goodness of America? Do grannies in America really need to carry a gun to protect their grandchildren? If that is true what does it say about our country? Are you so paranoid that every other American you run into on your daily journey through life is a threat? It really is to bad that a big tough marine like yourself feels that they cannot function in the USA without carrying a weapon for some unknown threat that is about to strike you down.

Semper Fi I wonder with you being so worried about your personal safety do you wear a seatbelt and drive at the posted speed limit? Do you drink alcohol? Do you smoke? Do you eat at McDonalds? Obama Forces Flip-Flops to Paralyze McCain

Barack Obama is not perfect, he is not liked by all, some like him to much but we all can plainly see the difference between legacies and someone who earns their own way. Bush and McCain have proven to be stubborn, whiny, self centered and selfish individuals who graduated near the bottom of their classes and it shows everytime Barack steps up and performs beyond anyones imagination. Obama on the other hand worked his way up and learned how to negotiate, lead, and work with others along the way. Joe Klein: John McCain's Comment On Obama Wanting To Lose War "Most Scurrilous" He's Ever Heard

The saddest thing of all about McCain and his candidacy is that the average America knows only what the media wants them to know about this man. They do not know the truth, they do not know his past, they do not know his record, they do not know the real John McCain. John McCain makes a great movie but a lousy book.

The movie would have him flying planes, the book would have him crashing many.
The movie would show a brave heroic man, the book would show him as an adulterous backstabber.
The movie would show him as a Annapolis graduate, the book would tell you that he was a poor student.
The movie would show him as honest, the book would make him one of the keating five.
The movie would show him as a maverick, the book would show him as a Bush lap dog.
The movie would show him as a man of principle, the book would show him as a swift boater.

This man is not who America thinks he is. He is very lucky that most Americans do not pay attention to facts but rather have uniformed opinion to guide them in the election booth. posted 07/23/2008 at 17:46:38

Photog Back Home After Getting Kicked Out of Iraq -- For Showing the Real War

In America it is quite acceptable to post pictures of aborted fetuses at any stage of development because it promotes the desired agenda of those on the right wing. They feel that those pictures will affect us in ways that will make us decide to stop having abortions and embrace life as they understand it. At the same time these so called pro life individuals support the photo ban of flag draped coffins, graphic war pictures and of course dead soldiers because they know that if the public saw photos of that nature on a regular basis that we the people would demand the immediate end of George W Bush's war pf choice. A Grassroots Victory: Lieberman Must Go!

Meanwhile in a place known as reality the democratic majority continues to rubberstamp every item on President Bush's agenda. The dems have the majority, why haven't they taken on these important issues. Oh yeah Lieberman won't allow it. posted 07/12/2008 at 17:46:15
All this talk of "we need Lieberman" is ridiculous. What America needs now is politicians with principles and by keeping Lieberman the democrats show that they have none. Why is Lieberman necessary? So the Democrats can vote against FISA? So the Democrats can stop funding the war? So the democrats can stop torture? So the democrats can put impeachment back on the table? If the democrats need Lieberman to maintain their majority then exactly what do they plan on doing with it other than continue giving Bush everything he wants? Lieberman is a convenient excuse for the Democrats to not accomplish anything of note for the rest of this election cycle and allows them to make promises like getting rid of Lieberman after the election even though no one really knows how the election will turn out. posted 07/12/2008 at 06:31:44

A Just Democracy

In a Country that prefers arguments over what people choose to put into or take out of their own bodies it is a long shot that we ever will be able to see the big picture and focus on the issues that are truly important. It is 2008 and we are bickering over issues that have already been discussed and settled by those who came before us, in some cases long, long before us. Yet we carry on as if we are the first to ever think that God may not exist, Science is a tool of the devil, infantcide and homosexuality never occured before and that republicans are better than democrats and vice versa.

The only way to break this endless loop of ignorance and willful stupidity is to educate our children. Educate our chldren in our rich and varied history, have them study the lives of our forefathers, have them repeat the words of wisdom uttered by Adams, Jefferson, Madison et al. Make sure they learn our shared history and expose them to the arguments our ancestors have already had and settled. Dates are not more important than events or words that happened on those days and that is what we should be teaching our children. Morals are not important if they come from a skewed and twisted education, Honesty does not matter if you do not know the truth. Beliefs do not trump actual events and wishful thinking does not replace the need for a functioning plan. posted 07/04/2008 at 08:48:36

A Mushroom And An Oak Tree

Sorry Father but the fruit in my life does not come from Jesus. Like millions of others on this planet I somehow manage to harvest, love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control by using common sense , honesty and a genuine desire to live a full life. As far as I can tell Christians have not cornered the market on any of the fruits you mentioned and to say that a belief in Jesus is required to harvest them is a lie. I and millions of others in this world harvest these fruits daily and we are not in any way, shape or form are Christian.

Religion is not necessary to be spiritual, but honesty is an absolute requirement. Today our religious President who believes himself to be very spiritual is a known liar. His belief in Jesus is not used to promote any fruit harvesting but rather as a cloak to protect him from criticism and insulate him from taking personal responsiblility for his decisions. posted 07/05/2008 at 09:47:04

Can someone please remind me why Lieberman is so important again? posted 06/27/2008 at 16:21:37

The Audacity of Dope

Uttering the words "pro life" in America mean nothing when in our country we have sick children with no health care, we have hungry children with no food, we have homeless children, we have parentless children, we have lost children in our state and federal programs, we have abused children in those programs, we have chldren who cannot read, we have children who have no hope, we have children who will never be loved. We have children who are here now who suffer daily while our political and religious leaders stand on their soapboxes and scream about how important an unborn child is. We have a Christian President and administration who believe torturing a terrorists child is justifiable including the crushing of that chld's testicle. We have millions of christians in America who support war, turn thier back on genocide, hate choice, need the government to dictate who they can marry and support torture all in the name of Jesus Christ,

The silence of the masses is deafening. posted 06/28/2008 at 13:09:55

'Stop-Loss' Leads to Yet Another Soldier Suicide

Suicide is a tragedy that has touched millions of Americans. All the things that divide us as a nation do not affect suicide, in fact it is one of the things that unites us as human beings. The aftermath for those who are left behind is terrible, pain, grief, guilt, anger, confusion and many more emotions all come bubbling to the surface in order to try and make sense of a loss that is unfathomable to understand. This man gave everything to this Country and in return he was not rewarded for a job well done but rather held against his will because of poor planning by the powers that be.

George W. Bush asked us to sacrifice for this war by going to the mall and shopping. However the real sacrifice is the horrific stories like this that show how a President who does not think, plan, think, plan and then think some more before committing anyone's child to a war with no end will only end in tragedy for those the President orders affect the most. President Bush failed this young man, his comrades in arms and the American people by rushing into this war and lying non-stop for the justification of it's continuation. posted 06/26/2008 at 16:48:21

Mormon church enters Calif. gay marriage fight

Is being LDS curable? not likely, How bout evangelical hypocrisy, is there a cure for that? What America really needs is a cure for stupidity, or a balm for being nosy. posted 06/24/2008 at 16:41:31
Can anyone explain why Conservative Republicans who love small government and less government in our lives apparently needs the government to tell them who they can marry? Doesn't all this defining marriage talk sound kind of classicly liberal? I do not, I repeat, I do not need or want the government to define what a marriage is, ever. posted 06/24/2008 at 16:38:20

James Dobson Accuses Obama Of 'Distorting' Bible

What is enlightenment? Speaking in tongues? Turning myself into a hypocrit by believing in God and supporting war? I never offered an interpretation of the bible, I did however offer my OPINION on other's interpretation of the bible. I say it again, every interpretation of the bible is a fruitcake interpretation especially since you and no one else can prove any of it. Sorry my friend but I am not going to subject myself to a book written by men, most likely the same kind of men who are running this country today, which would make them greedy, selfish, conniving, lying, incompetant fools.

By the way which bible are you talking about? I am talking about them all. posted 06/24/2008 at 17:07:40

McCain Adviser: Another Attack on U.S. Would Be "Big Advantage" For McCain

Only a Republican could want another attack killing Americans in order to help thier guy get elected. Only other Republicans would vote for a Republican who failed to protect America from an attack all the while bragging about how well Republicans protect us even though we were attatcked and that Republicans once again did nothing to protect us or even prevent an attack. posted 06/23/2008 at 16:31:40

Bill Kristol is Not Stupid, So Why Does He Pretend to Be?

Kristol gets so much free press each week from his NYT OP ED that the powers that be do not care what he says as long as it's outrageous. Pretty pathetic for the newspaper of record but hey if you refuse to do your job and report honestly about what is going on in Iraq, our economy, energy issues, health care and the rest of the mundane day to day crap that the NYT use to be excellent at investigating, reporting and following up on the next best thing is Bill Kristol. The only thing more outrageous would be Ann Coulter and the way the NYT has fallen it won't be long before that happens. posted 06/23/2008 at 16:25:53

Mitch McConnell's Senate Seat Now In Jeopardy

As democrats smile and cheer about the GOP's own misfortune and subsequent disintigration they had better realize that it could just as easily happen to them. Especially since the party as a whole as shown this nation time and time again that they do not have a spine especially when it comes to holding Bush and Cheney accountable. Not one democratic leader is willing to sacrifice their position or their seat for principles that they believe in, as far as I can tell the decisions Pelosi has made have not been in support of the Constitution but rather what she thinks is in the best interest of the Democratic party and that proves she is not a leader we can believe in or trust. So be careful what you wish for you hardcore Democratic kool aid drinkers or all of you will follow the Republicans into the dustbin of history and leave the rest of us with Bob Barr and Ross Perot. posted 06/24/2008 at 16:28:30

House easily passes compromise surveillance law

What do you want more? Specifics from reporters or Specifics from the Bush Administration?

Seems to me that if Bush was more forthcoming, less secretive, more honest and less of a liar that the specifics your asking for would be availible. So maybe you want to ask your President about those specifics and place the responsibility where it belongs. posted 06/21/2008 at 07:07:13

Bush To Echo McCain's Plan To Drill In Oceans

the oil companies have leases upon leases upon leases and can drill whenever they want. They do not want to. Drilling is an expense and from what I am reading Exxon is so wealthy now they feel just selling gas is not profitable enough and are closing stations to curb costs. People seem to forget that Bush ran his oil company into the ground and demolished a few more balance sheets before he killed America and McCain only crashed airplaines which are expensive but can be written off especially if your daddy ia an admiral. These two could not stat a successful lawn mowing business. posted 06/18/2008 at 06:04:20

McCain: Not So Straight On Energy

Ok so now all we have to do is get Chris Mathews to stop being star struck everytime McCain is on his show and begin to do his job questioning instead of cheering. The same goes for all media outlets hold McCain accountable for the crap he says and stop treating him like the maverick he has proven not to be. posted 06/17/2008 at 16:20:45

McCain's Secret, Questionable Record

An example has to be made with McCain, America gave the presidency to one charlatan (gwb) and set a precedent, Now here comes McCain another slacker, another guy rewarded for being the son and grandson of achievers, another guy who feels entitled, and sadly it seems there is plenty of us who will vote for McCain not based on any particular skill but rather on his name. I guess we are just lucky Jeb Bush isn't running. posted 06/17/2008 at 06:04:23

Lieberman Irks Democrats By Criticizing Obama

The Democrats deserve Lieberman, first they show no backbone and take impeachment off the table which historically will be absolutely the biggest mistake made during the Bush era. Then Lileberman stabs them in the back and they continue to kiss his hiney for the last year and a half instead of kicking him out of the party. The demos tried to have it both ways but have only proven to be punks who refuse to put anything they do on the line. So pathetic, they are just lucky the Republicans are even worse. posted 06/16/2008 at 16:48:23

On Father's Day: Remember the Kids Left Fatherless by the War

On this Father's day let all of us love, honor and respect the men who taught us right from wrong, good from bad and who have shown us what true sacrifice is. Let us stop and reflect upon the words of wisdom each of our Father's have extolled, cajoled and in some cases pounded into our lives. Let us learn from their triumphs and mistakes so that we can fulfill their dreams and do better than they. Let us stop competing with our Fathers, instead congratulate them on their successes and help them recover from their failures. Let us the children of our fathers return the unconditional love that they have shown us. Today let us give our Fathers they're due because tomorrow they may be gone.

Thank you dad. posted 06/15/2008 at 10:17:34

Who Will Fill Russert's Chair?

I would like to see someone who will change the sunday morning show routine across the board. I wold like to see a hard hitting show that holds whomever comes on to account. A new standard is set and the other Sunday shows follow suit. No more bloviating with your collegial panel of washington insiders whom are all millionaires and are generally out of touch with middle class America. No more limo riding celebrities dressed up as journalists spewing thier partisan opinion.

Tim did a good job but there is an opportunity to make it better and since it will never be the same whats the harm in that?

Find someone who is unknown that way Dick Cheney woun't be so cocky the next time we see him refute a videotape of him lying on videotape. posted 06/15/2008 at 07:36:58
