Majority Of Americans Say Founding Fathers Would Be Disappointed: Poll

I believe in God and I don't consider myself feebleminded. Don't blame God for what man has done to his Word. Sorta like what many have done with the Constitution. If the only thing we have is each other, we are in deep doodoo. How is is your fellow man working for ya so far? posted 07/05/2008 at 14:26:18
Bush's exact words were: "it's just a G-ddam piece of paper". There is your God fearing president. Talk about taking the Lord's name and the Constitution in vain. posted 07/05/2008 at 14:20:36

You took the words right out of my mouth. The Founders put it all on the line just to have it all go the way of the DoDo bird. If they could again convene at Independence Hall, they would lead another American Revolution and this time perhaps tighten up the Founding documents to assure that all they pleged their lives, fortune and sacred honor could not be cast asunder. posted 07/05/2008 at 13:51:37

Obama Tries and Fails to Put Out the FISA Fire in His Own House

In addition to Bush and his gang, there are many in congress (both Dem & Rep) who would be exposed as culpable in this spying travesty. They all should be exposed and made an example if you want this kind of thing to come to an end. posted 07/05/2008 at 15:47:14

Obama's Position on Iraq Could Put His Candidacy at Risk

Where were all you progressives when we had a shot at nominating the real deal? Dennis Kucinich has the message and the positions and foremost the courage of his convictions but all we could do was go for the glitter. What the old saw about "all that glitters is not....". This is the bed we made and we damn well better get comfortable in it. McCain is not an option. So let's get with the program. posted 07/06/2008 at 13:15:17

Vote No as Senator. I thought I made that clear. posted 07/03/2008 at 18:36:16
Senator Obama:

If there ever was a flip flop you have to make, it is a NO vote on FISA. Your argument about the safety of the nation notwithstanding, upholding and defending the Constitution is JOB ONE for the president or any other public official. Aside from the immunity issue, there are other aspects of the FISA compromise bill that don't pass Constitutional muster. A conversation with the likes of Sen. Feingold may convince you of the shortcomings. We can have a surveillance process that does not compromise our Constitution. Any weakening of our Constitutional rights will set a precedent for further weakening. Our Constitution must be held sacrosanct. I trust you to watch the watchers but we may well end up someday with another regime like the Bush administration who would game any breach in the steadfastness of the Constitution. That is why it is important that you as head of the Democratic Party take a stand and lead to restore the Constitution and make it inviolate for the future. Your vote for the FISA bill will be a mistake and take away the trust of especially the young people who have put all their faith in you to restore our country which is after all, our Constitution. posted 07/03/2008 at 17:57:06

Media Scorecard: How Well Did The Media Do In Identifying McCain's 'Swift Boat' Support?

It is obvious that McCain with the complicity of the MSM are trying to spin the hay of Clark's remarks into gold. Bob Schieffer is the one who framed the issue of riding a jet and getting shot down as a qualification for CIC. This snake set the whole thing up and the rest of the media ran with it. Why this old fool has any credibility is mind boggling. Schieffer is and has been a shill for the Republicans for a long time. The fact that he inherited the same chair that Murrow, Cronkite, Reasoner, Mudd, Rather and the other legendary CBS broadcast journalists broadcasted from is a disgrace to their legacy. posted 07/01/2008 at 22:59:37

Wesley Clark Stands By McCain Criticism

Bravo General! Just to reiterate and clarify a point for the troglodytes, it was the serpentine Bob Schieffer who framed the issue of Obama "not riding in a fighter jet and getting shot down" as if that was a qualification for CIC. Gen. Clark simply contradicted Schieffer's half ass conclusion. It doesn't take much sense at all to figure that out but then the MSM and the talking heads wouldn't have anything to wring their bony hands about. posted 06/30/2008 at 21:35:58

I guess he knew Barack better than anyone wanted to own up to. No one is looking to rule Obama or run his life or make his decisions. What we demand is that this would be president execute the laws of the land which is his Constitutional duty. He has shown himself to be above the law with his willingness to abrogate the Constitution. An auspices start to say the least. posted 06/25/2008 at 20:41:04
The oath Obama will take is to uphold and defend the Constitution. That is his prime imperative. The security of the nation can be achieved without comprimising on the Constitution. A strong leader should be able to drive this point home to the American people. Sadly Obama's stance on FISA has made this election a choice between the lesser of two evils. Will Obama filibuster? Protecting and defending the Constitution is the prime imperative of any Senator, Representative and especially the President. There is no comprimising on the Constitution. Any politician who votes to support this travesty of a bill is not worthy of the oath they took and should be out of office. That's how important this vote is. posted 06/24/2008 at 15:39:07

McCain: Guantanamo Decision One Of the Worst Ever

American values are inscribed in the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. A lot of good Americans put it all on the line to preserve and protect those values. Too many people in this country either don't know or don't care about what makes America the last best hope of mankind. It is to our shame that we let anti-American criminals into our camp to destroy what the real patriots sweated and bled to create and prserve. It is our time to take back the country and as far as I am concerned, jail or otherwise sanction these criminals for their treasonous deeds against this country. We owe it to everyone who paid the last measure of devotion for the life of this nation. Providence has given us a candidate for president who can lead the way to restoration of our Constitution and the country. Will we have the hope and wisdom to get on board? I pray we do. posted 06/13/2008 at 20:30:15
This latest gag from McCain tells me that this man is not a true American. He does not believe in American values and in fact repudiates those values. This is enough reason to consign McCain to the trash pile of also rans. In no way is this man suitable to be the President of the United States. In fact his suitability to be a Senator is in question. He is nothing more than a resident of the United States who cares nothing for this country but only what this country can do for his own selfish wants. His so-called war record is nothing more or less than the many thousands of soldiers in all our national conflicts could show. Some to a much greater extent including an early grave. So I don't give McCain credit for doing anything special. He enlisted in the Navy for personal reasons having little or nothing to do with patriotism. It was the family business. No real American would subvert the Constitution of the United States as easily as McCain is so willing to do with statements like he made today. posted 06/13/2008 at 18:44:32

Republicans Block Extra Taxes On Oil Companies

Stop with the BS. Corporations or any "small business" is taxed on net profits. Wages (high or low) and benefits are deductions on a business tax return and therefore not subject to income taxes. Another thing, businesses do not exist to create jobs. A business hires employees because they profit off the labor of its employees. As long as there is a buck to be made off the labor of hirees, there will be hirees. The business of business is to create and sell products. As long as there is a market to sell products into, they will need to hire people to meet the market no matter what the tax picture looks like. posted 06/10/2008 at 17:22:30
A large part of the price of gas is those windfall profits. Taxing the excessive profits gives the oil companies a choice: 1) lower the price of gas and lower the windfall profits to avoid the windfall profits tax, or 2) invest the excess profits in developing alternative energy resources and avoid the windfall profits tax. The bottom line is that the obscene profits being made by the oil companies due to the high price of gasoline goes to benefit the country or to benefit oil executives and stockholders. In which group do your interests lie? posted 06/10/2008 at 16:44:31

Yeah! Tell that to the Europeans and Chinese who are going into wind and solar in a major way to build and rebuild their infrastructure. The windfall proits tax on the oil companies will pay for the development of alternative energy. Some of it will go toward paying for a middle class tax cut to help pay the high costs of energy. The oil comapny executives may have to settle for less of a windfall salary and bonus but I have to sk, what have they done to deserve their job let alone the big paydays. posted 06/10/2008 at 16:12:49
What does it take for you Republican dead-enders to smell the coffee. Exxon-Mobil made the higest corporate profits ever. I always believed that meritorious performance should be rewarded. In Bushworld oil companies that fail in their mission to produce energy at a reasonable cost is rewarded for that failure and is allowed to profit handsomely for tripling the price of gas and putting the American economy in the soup. Windfall profit taxes are the least we can do. I'm for strictly regulating and controlling the energy markets. The so-called free market has made a mess of it. posted 06/10/2008 at 16:08:31
