Jim Luce brings 25 years management experience within investment banking and the non-profit sector. As Founder & President of Orphans International Worldwide, associated with the United Nations Department of Public Information, he is working with a strong network of committed professionals to build interfaith, interracial, Internet-connected orphanages in Sulawesi (Indonesia), Sumatera (Indonesia), Haiti, Guyana, El Salvador, the Philippines, Ghana, Sri Lanka, Togo and Peru; and exploring new projects in China (Henan), India, Nigeria, Cambodia, Romania, Guatemala, Thailand, and the Dominican Republic.
In pursuit of a better world he has left corporate America - twice, testified in Congress, and helped raise over $1.8 million in cash, services and gifts-in-kind for the unfortunate. Jim holds an East Asian Studies degree from the College of Wooster, and studied at Waseda University, Tokyo, Centro de Estudiar Colombino-Americano (Bogota¡), and through AFS at Max-Plank Gymnasium (Bielefeld, Germany). He serves as past president of his local Toastmasters chapter, and has received awards for his work with orphans, HIV & AIDS prevention, and the homeless. He has served as a New York State-licensed foster father and an officer of his local PTA. He is a member of St. Bart's Episcopal Church, but has also attended mosque and studies the Torah with his Jewish neighbors, associated with Central Synagogue.
