Some Last-Minute Obama Thoughts, After Canvasing in PA

here here posted 04/21/2008 at 15:40:47
Enjoyed reading your post.

I'm stumped by somthing of late. I'm not clear why Obama's approval rating in the last debate is so low. He participated, as always, from a place of integrity. He was respectful of his opponent and tried to steer TOWARD the issues - apples to apples - instead of engaging in the negative volleyball of classic politics. Clinton just attacks. Instead of selling her positions in their own rite, not one sentence comes out of her mouth that doesn't slam Obama - including twisting at least one fact to suit her point. She's been doing this for so long he now has to respond in kind just to show he still has a pulse. How did he answer the "tough" questions poorly? He explained that ABC's line of questioning, which has been criticized now by many, is exactly the kind of time-wasting he's been discouraging throughout his campaign. Clinton wanted to stay negative and ABC helped her do just that - not that it was their intention, they"re just as entrenched in politics-as-usual. The media wants a dog fight, but Obama just doesn"t play that. The Democrats want honesty and integrity in a president this time around, but they want to see blood before they"ll vote. posted 04/21/2008 at 15:23:43

Clinton Slams Democratic Activists At Private Fundraiser

your post is kind, but i believe a little naïve. someone with hillary's intellect, knowledge of the system, and "experience to take over day-one and at 3:00 AM thereafter" should be far more clear-headed during her campaign. going into this "knowing" she would win was foolish. tantruming and playing dirty pool throughout is not the level of integrity or wisdom we need to take over as president. after 8 years of the deceitful, ruthless bush admin, what we need is a high level of integrity to take over. posted 04/19/2008 at 14:55:42

it's a disaster alright - but it is illegal to turn down care for anyone who shows up at an emergency room. plain and simple. and of course as it turned out, ms. bachtel was indeed treated. if hrc had done her homework (which I'd foolishly assumed she'd done when she worked on the entire healthcare system) she'd have known that what she was told and what she subsequently relayed publicly was a "misspeak," as she is known to call her lies. posted 04/05/2008 at 22:13:02

Hillary Clinton With Jay Leno On Tonight Show: Enters To "Rocky" Theme, Jokes About Sniper Fire

oh my god whoever you are.................wake up, smell the coffee, smack yourself on the cheek - make sure you're awake.

there is a distinct and moral difference between rising again to a place of integrity by your own merit and stepping all over people to reach a place where you THINK you deserve to be despite whom it hurts. i have a strong suspicion that Maya Angelou would not have appreicated the use of her poem in support of such a woman who does not brand herself with integrity. posted 04/04/2008 at 14:21:48
Had her "landing under sniper fire" recount been a one-time "misspeak," (instead she was videoed "misspeaking" the same thing 3 times during this campaign) and had she not prefaced each "misstatement" with, "I remember when . . .," I may have given her the benefit of the doubt, albeit begrudgingly. However, it is clear that she attempted to get away with her Bosnia "misstatement" while attempting to shore up her claim to a multitude of 3:00 AM experience. Had she encountered a number of (or any) sniper-embroiled events - with her daughter in tow - I dare say she'd remember quite clearly.

Now to come on television with one goal, to joke her way out of her "misspeak," while potentially offending America's intelligence, is proof that her judgment, experience, and integrity are quite lacking. I can't say, "shame on ya, Hillary," anymore - now I'm just embarrassed for her and the people who will continue to support her anyway. This is precisely how America continues to vote into presidential office amoral people like Bush. It's just blind, ignorant loyalty. I never was for Hillary; tolerating her husband's infidelity all of these years, thus allowing her daughter to grow up believing that she too is not worth more than tolerating a husband"s emotional abuse is proof enough of a lack of judgment and loyalty. It's still Obama all the way. We just have to hope there are more voters out there who esteem integrity over blind loyalty! posted 04/04/2008 at 07:59:31

But her true colors have come through in spades now. she's a wombat going after her prey (those vying for the coveted presidentship)! for her, it may be more about principle now. she just can't handle the idea of losing - without regard for whom it hurts or whether she, herself, is best suited to successfully bring the US back to being a respectable entity in this world. she's had a 30+ year plan and by god . . . nothing is going to stand in her way of reaching it. a dangerous brew!!!!!!! posted 03/26/2008 at 16:38:11

14 Painful Things Hillary Knows -- Or Should Know

you're just not seeing the whole picture, N. obama is not the rev. the rev is not obama. he's slammed the rev's comments. what else can he do? i for one am impressed that obama didn't throw out the baby (the rev) with the bath water. that is integrity. that is what we need in a leader of this country. not someone (hrc) who will do anything it takes to be president (like aligning herself with the "enemy" - mccain), even if it lacks integrity. she is missing the point here. it's about what the american people want, not what she wants - aren't you sick to death of that yet? she keeps trying to change the rules mid-stream in order to grab more votes instead of allowing the votes to speak for themselves. that's not integrity and it shows just what kind of president she would be - doing what she wants, not necessarily what the american people want. and if that isnt enough, her husband scares the shit out of me. don't kid yourself, it would be a hillbill preseidency and he's also shown his true self - a philanderer who will lie to the world in order to save his own butt. that's not integrity and that's not we need. posted 03/22/2008 at 10:21:23
