A "Great Debate" Ingrate (Me)

You're kidding me right? The only type of debate McCain would feel comfortable with would be in this "town-hall" style. Why would Obama offer him any scraps? Obama knows how to debate head to head. McCain will provide nothing but gaffes.

I think the GOP knows they need four years off to rehabilitate their image so that in four years they can return to power and go back to their plan to "drown it [government] in the bathtub.*" When Obama wins he's going to have so much crap from the Bush administration to deal with it'll be tough to get it all done, so the GOP plotters think they'll be able to come back in four to try it all over again. That's the only logic behind their current lack of strategy.

Switching Sides On The Death Penalty

Child rapists and their Ilk are usually kept in what is called euphemistically Administrative Segregation, or ADSEG. They spend 23 hours a day in their cell with no outside human contact, they get one hour per day in which they are allowed out into a fenced-in area slightly larger than their cell. posted 07/07/2008 at 11:22:15
It's actually much more expensive to sentence a criminal to death that life in prison. Due many to the automatic appeals process that increases legal fees as well as the higher cost of keeping prisoners on death row than in general population.

On Fellow Disgruntled Shareholders of Obama's Campaign

Are you kidding? People that are mad at Obama for not being progressive aren't stupid enough to think McCain might be better. McCain would be so much less progressive and more like the Dubya he seems desperate to become that Obama would have to shoot a guy in the face to balance the scales.

Obama might not be progressive enough but McCain is a d4mn Neo-fuedalist. He literally wants us to go back to serfdom. posted 07/03/2008 at 11:39:06

Vanity Fair's Christopher Hitchens Undergoes Waterboarding

Are you saying that this wasn't torture because it's not as bad as what it would really be like? Isn't that sort of proving the point> If he was waterboarded, and thinks he was tortured, just imagine how much worse it could get.

What more proof do we need to show that these techniques do not help and should be stopped? posted 07/03/2008 at 11:24:55

Joining GOP's Bold March Backwards, Bobby Jindal and Louisiana Democrats Pass "Stealth Creationism" Education Bill

The very Idea that evolution is a "theory of the origin of life" is a complete falsehood. Evolution is not a theory of the origin of life, but on the development of life after it had already formed. It does not posit to know how life got here, just that new species can develop due to adaptation and inheritance. posted 06/27/2008 at 23:19:52

John McCain Should Probably Stop Calling Barack Obama "Dr. No"

Here are Obama's Ideas on Energy.

* Reduce Carbon Emissions 80 Percent by 2050
* Invest in a Clean Energy Future
* Support Next Generation Biofuels
* Set America on Path to Oil Independence
* Improve Energy Efficiency 50 Percent by 2030
* Restore U.S. Leadership on Climate Change

You can read the details here:

Dr. Dobson Has Just Handed Obama Victory

Care to provide us with some evidence of its failure more abject than what "government is evil so lets give it's evil powers to corporations" program that right wingers have trotted out time and time again and seen refuted. It's time to take your paper dollies and go home. Deregulation, especially of markets has been a complete failure, witness the forty dollar a barrel spike in the cost of oil due exclusively to de-regulation of the oil commodities market by a bill passed at the behest of Enron that directly enhanced the ability of speculative dollars to be pumped into the oil-futures market. The market is no more a stable eco-system that will balance itself in a way that will benefit humanity than standing naked with a Ron Paul placard on 42nd street is a sign of a stable mind. posted 06/25/2008 at 17:23:12

Nevada Ron Paul Supporters Stage Rogue GOP Convention

I can barely read what you're writing, and I think therein lies some of the essence of Libertarianism. You seem to think that the rules don't apply to you, that you can make up your own way of doing things, like not using spaces and throwing in commas left and right and that doing so somehow improves things.

Getting rid of the Federal reserve and going back to a Gold standard would more than likely crush the world economy. If the Income Tax is illegal why has it been held up as legal time and time again by the court, most recently in US v. Snipes? posted 06/25/2008 at 16:44:05

McCain's Secret, Questionable Record

You're either lying or woefully ill-informed.

You have no Idea what you're talking about either historically or in terms of which candidate will be more dangerous regarding Iran. Electing McCain will automatically greenlight any war he chooses"any war, without cause or provocation"which is why he is "unelectable" not Barack Obama. posted 06/17/2008 at 09:29:32

On Gas Prices, Whose Side Are Republicans On?

The gas companies would have less to re-invest in oil commodities for one. You take the profits and invest them in new technologies to stimulate new investment in alternative energy thus seeding a new industry and moving speculative dollars from oil to other sources. posted 06/12/2008 at 17:05:12

Does McCain Have A Shot At California?

California goes Democratic in the fall. Period. The Numbers aren't even close to being there for a huge upset like this. California is a very blue state. We went for Kerry, I don't see McCain swinging ANY state that went so strongly for Kerry in 04.

Rezko is already played out, he was convicted and nothing about Obama ever came up.

Hispanics that voted for Hillary aren't going to be coming out for McCain.

McCain wins Utah, and that's about the only state in his safe column. posted 06/12/2008 at 18:05:01

really, get some facts when you say things like that. Take Medicare. It's actually run way more efficiently than corporate health insurance. Medicare outperforms private sector plans in terms of patients' satisfaction with quality of care, access to care, and overall insurance ratings.

Elderly Medicare beneficiaries are more likely than enrollees in employer-sponsored plans to rate their health insurance as excellent (32% vs. 20%) and less likely to report negative experiences with their insurance plans (43% vs. 61%). Medicare beneficiaries are also less likely than those with private insurance to go without needed care owing to costs (18% vs. 22%). The survey also finds that elderly Medicare beneficiaries are more likely to report being very satisfied with the care they received compared with those with private insurance (62% vs. 51%). posted 06/10/2008 at 16:09:45

$4 A Gallon: National Gas Price Average Reaches Record

I don't think this story is entirely accurate. It states that gas in Connecticut is the second highest in the country but in Lee Vining California right now, regular gas is selling for $5.29/gal. And the cheapest gas in the state is $4.24. Whereas the highest gas in CT is $4.89 and the cheapest is $4.11

Of course nothing beats the 5.98 they're paying for gas in Bethel Alaska.

Keith Olbermann Continues Feud Against Wal-Mart, Wal-Mart Responds

It's called health insurance, not accident insurance. You're confusing health care with property insurance. Health insurance is not a Fault-based system. They took money that was going to pay for her future medical expenses, not going to by her a car or something. posted 04/01/2008 at 15:59:10
Don't you see the double standard? Your ilk claim to hold the uber patriotic high-ground, but Walmart is more important to you than your country and our fellow citizens that make this country.

Walmart doesn't make anything in the US and pays it's workers sh*t.

I went to Walmart once with a giftcard I got from my Thug relative. Looked around for four hours before I found anything made in the US, did some research and found out it was produced in Guam, (nominally a US territory, but in name only really) so the workers didn't even have to be paid minimum wage!

You also claim to be against taxation in general but Walmart encourages communities to help subsidize its growth and forces workers to utilize food stamps and publicly funded health care.

What you'd advocate it to put this woman out on the street and just let her die, which is what would happen if the state hadn't stepped in to continue her nursing care. posted 04/01/2008 at 15:44:02
