The Rapture Party

I am a liberal who is disappointed that Obama is moving to the middle and beyond. Those are the folks who would never vote for him anyway.. We were looking for another Howard Dean or Paul Wellstone from Minnesota, someone not connected to the regular crowd. We thought we had found this in Obama. I hope our faith was not misplaced. posted 07/03/2008 at 02:09:36

The Religious Right's Uppity Woman Strategy

Liberoservative, Bravo. I belong to Emily's List, and the woman who started that group(Ellen Malcolm) sent out an e-mail to all the members and asked them to sign a petition, after Hillary was treated so badly by the press. In the petition she also said that we will not tolerate this kind of treatment of women, and she warned them not to start on Michelle Obama.. I am one of those women who supported Hillary, but now I am supporting Barak Obama, just as Hillary is. I admire both Michelle and Barak Obama. I think they have appeared at just the right time.for our country. I am an older woman, and I supported Hillary because I wanted to see a woman president in my lifetime.. But now , God willing, I will see the first African-American president, which is also historic.. Don't believe all those rumors put out by Republicans that women ,unhappy at Hillary' loss will vote for McCain.. NO WAY, unless they want more of the same mess that we have now. The country could not survive a 3rd Bush term. By the way, the members of Emily's List sent thousands of e-mails to Chris Matthews boss. Did anyone see his apology? I did and it was delicious. posted 07/01/2008 at 03:34:07

FearWatch '08: Keeping an Eye Out for GOP Fear-Mongering

Fear will NOT work for me. The country is teetering on banckruptcy, The weather is erratic and unfamiliar, the economy is in the pits. We need to fix our infrastructure, but our money is going to Iraq., we have 40 Million without health insurance , educational system is suffering. That old saying, You must choose between guns and butter is true, you can't have both . Anybody who, would vote for McCain ,should consider therapy He will keep all of Bush's policies and offer nothing new. I have 4 sons, 2 grandsons and soon a great grandson and McCain can't have them. Hell no, we won't go,,not ever again. Let's face it, we need a young, vigorous man in the White House. Senator McCain should take a well earned retirement. posted 06/27/2008 at 02:05:08

Colin Powell Considers Voting For Obama

Colin Powell cared more for his job than he cared for the country. He could hacve been elected president, if he had resigned and turned his back on this lying, deceitful administration. Unfortunately, he made a choice to stay, and in so doing, he lost the respect of the country, and all hope for any political future. It is indeed sad. Alan Greenspan did the same thing, when he approved Bush's tax cuts for the wealthy. I hope that we still have some true patriots who will stand up and be counted, no matter what the cost. posted 06/14/2008 at 03:46:35

As Good As It Gets for McCain

There is no way that Hillary's supporters would vote for McCain. I am a Hillary supporter and I will vote for Obama. To see McCain on television with his lapdog, Lieberman, makes me nauseous. posted 06/14/2008 at 03:54:01

War, Inc: Cusack's Savage Satire Strikes a Chord with Soldiers and Their Families

I ,too, am concerned about the Blackwater army and the lack of acccountability. Remember they were sent to New Orleans during Katrina and they shot people suspected of looting. I would guess that some of the citizens were just trying to find food. After all ,the citizens of New Orleans and the gulf coast were left to drown and to starve, while M r Bush and Mr McCain were partying in Arizona and California. If they are planning a terrorist attack or a scare, they could proclaim martial law, and guess who would enforce it, while our National Guard is tied up in Iraq. This way they might stop the elections and stay in power. Let us be alert and ever vigilant for more lies and trickery and be ready to protest . posted 06/14/2008 at 03:29:55

Telling Tales About Her First Lady Travels: Where and Why Did Hillary Exaggerate?

If Hillary had left her husband, you would have criticized her for being a quitter. I give her credit for being strong enough to withstand all the hurtful publicity., her own personal hurt and disappointment, and for her insight into the reasons for this breach, and getting him into therapy. She isn't the first woman to be willing to stay if her mate agreed to stay in therapy as long as needed. She was successful. Some of us were not. I admire Hillary very much. She has proven her strength and dedication to any cause in which she truly believes. Hillary will make a great president.. Some of you misoganists would never approve of a woman as president. You need to rethink that. Women are stronger than you know. posted 03/28/2008 at 02:44:57
