Back in September, Speaker Nancy Pelosi prophesied that an extremist nut would come forth within the next few months and blow away a gathering of regular working Americans.
She ended up being right. She would end up being wrong only about what would motivate him. It's a sad day for America.
We all knew Pelosi would end up being right with her macabre prediction yet we all hoped it would never happen, in spite of that.
Was Pelosi's prediction political? Of course it was. Was she hoping she'd be able to make political hay out of it when it did eventually happen? Of course she was.
Shame on her and shame on everyone who didn't disavow her comments at the time. Other Democrats made the same prediction before last week's massacre. Were they hoping to gain political points with it at the time? Of course they were.
Pelosi and others were so scared of debate on taxes and health insurance reform that they hoped an extremist would come along to distract the country and eventually reap political points for them.
That's what it's come to with Democrats. Shameful.
