You couldn't be more wrong. It's a valid question, and a truthful answer from McCain would be a great insight into Mr. McCain's character. It's also interesting to note that Mr. McCain failed to answer the question, which can only lead one to believe that the accusation is true (given that there were 3 witnesses to McCain insulting his wife).
