Speaker Pelosi: "Two Oil Men In The White House" To Blame For Gas Prices

That's because oil futures buyers have no reason to bet that the price of oil will go up! Therefore, the oil futures traders can't SELL it at the higher price and the price goes down. Everytime the president mentions WAR, suggesting that demand will increase, making oil less plentiful, and the price goes up. Everytime the president mentions drilling for more oil, suggesting that supply will increase, making oil more plentiful, the price goes down.

The point, of course, is that this is all TALK. Nothing is really happening. That's why futures trading is driving the oil market. Important technical rules were changed by Bu$hCo. (like making the margin requirements ridiculously low) and we're in trouble because of it. Just more trouble from Enron-type schemes courtesy of Bush/Cheney Oil. posted 07/18/2008 at 11:29:41

The Boomer generation is an "activist" generation. Gen-X, in reaction to all the bad things that happened to boomers, is a "watcher" generation. By not committing, one never loses their "amateur" standing and can stay on the sidelines and complain. You never get to entitled to be an in-charge-adult, either. Thank you. Ever since former HRC staffers became involved in his campaign, he's made a series of rather serious tactical mistakes -- a number of things he has later corrected or "updated" (I love that one). I'm laying this at HRC's doorstep because he was NOT making these mistakes during his primary campaign. So, memo to Obama: Stop it. This is not working. Do not make a speach on foreign soil. Not cool; and not in Germany -- too much history . . . way too much controversy for way too ittle value. Seriously, who's thinking these decisions through, because this really is not working. You already messed up big-time with the FISA thing -- that was another no-brainer. It really could be a deal-breaker. You're a constituional law professor . . . WTF? End of memo. Deep breath. The Collapse of the Middle Class, Letters from Vermont and America

As soon as possible, steps must be taken to regulate commodities futures trading. Today was a perfect example. Now, because the government finally released unemployment data which is closer to the real thing (although still understated), and because an Israel military leader threatened to bomb Iran with OUR help, the dollar plunged and oil shot up, sending the Dow down almost 400 points. And that's just today.

Unless some action is taken by YOU and your colleagues in the House and Senate NOW to regulate the oil and commodity futures trading industries (I'm from California and got ripped off by Enron, et al., as you know), there will be $10/gal. gas, with no end to the con game in sight -- and this is a con game. Good on ya, Nora ! Exactimundo !! I would also add one other thing: HRC is a LAWYER who practiced law. Not to sound too jaded, but I've worked with her "type" before . . . this is a woman who CANNOT give up. She does NOT WANT to settle. It's win or lose and that's all there is.

I caught her on TV telling an audience of supporters that she was shocked, yes shocked, to hear that her supporters would vote for McCain before Obama, and I think she meant it. The collateral damage of all-out war doesn't occur to her.

Many, many people will have to tell her to quit or she will continue the assaults. In her world, anything less would be inauthentic. Isn't that rich? You see, as a lawyer, she justifies her behavior as "winning for the little guys" who don't have a voice, are disenfranchised, etc. This makes her a heroin. You get the idea.

It wears me out, too. I'm a little short of her age, but it seems to me that she should be passed this crap by now . . . I don't know, it's probably just me.
