I have sad news for all that believe that our troops were betrayed by their government. Vice president Cheney said the simple truth, the troops volunteered. Perhaps not all the volunteers were the super patriots and 'red-necked', skin-headed military loving freaks that are willing stooges to go around the world killing 'gooks' whenever they can, or the ignorant, believe whatever their government tells them, patriots that believed from the beginning that Iraq had weapons of mass destruction even though international investigations back then stated none were found, but were willing to kill or be killed in order to extricate themselves from dire domestic economic conditions by earning veterans benefits. None were drafted against their wills; all volunteered to kill innocents for any number of reasons. The answer is to stop glorifying the military and blaming the politicians which are only part of the problem. The total problem is Free Market machinators, their government lackeys and gung-ho soldier puppets too willing to offer their lives at the damnable game of kill or be killed.
