I'm a baby boomer daughter of career U.S. Army officer and officer's wife. He served in WWII in Europe and in Korea. I was born in Salzburg, Austria while he was stationed there during the occupation.
I also lived in Arizona while he was at Ft. Huachuca and in Taiwan while he worked with Chang Kai-Shek's people. He retired in the 60s as a Lt. Colonel before Vietnam took off and I grew up from age 8 in the greater Seattle area.
I studied History and English in Secondary Education in University, then went to Fuller Theological Seminary and became a Presbyterian Church USA pastor. I switched careers about 13 years ago, getting another masters in Psychology and am now a Mental Health Counselor working with Native American children. I am divorced and have three adult sons I raised alone.
I had a brief fling with Libertarianism in the late 80s & early 90s and even participated in Republican politics. Then I woke up and became a member of the Liberal Wing of the Liberal Wing of the Democratic Party. I was a Kucinich supporter in both 04 and 08. I ended up an Obama supporter after my second choice, John Edwards, dropped out.
