McCain Predicts The Iraq War Will Be "Won" By 2013

Between McCain's sudden epiphany, and guarantee that we'll win in Iraq, be out by 2013, the Iraqi government will be fully functional and we may even have a flat tax...and...Bush comparing Obama to Nazi appeasers because he has the audacity to want to actually engage and negotiate, versus invasion or cold war strategy stonewalling...the Republican party resembles more of a comedy tag team than a political force in America.

No matter what either say, the Democrats will win huge Presidential, Senate and House elections in the fall...why? Well, because of the sheer and overwhelming number of voters who will turn up at the polls, and away from the Republicans because of what we see right now every day of the week.

I've said it before and will say it again: George W. Bush and his administration will be remembered as the worst in our nation's history. posted 05/15/2008 at 18:57:36

Bush Compares Obama To Nazi Appeasers

Bush - "Some seem to believe we should negotiate with terrorists and radicals, as if some ingenious argument will persuade them they have been wrong all along," Bush said at Israel's 60th anniversary celebration in Jerusalem.

"We have heard this foolish delusion before," Bush said in remarks to Israel's parliament, the Knesset. "As Nazi tanks crossed into Poland in 1939, an American senator declared: 'Lord, if only I could have talked to Hitler, all of this might have been avoided.' We have an obligation to call this what it is -- the false comfort of appeasement, which has been repeatedly discredited by history."

* President Bush's grandfather was a director of a bank seized by the federal government because of its ties to a German industrialist who helped bankroll Adolf Hitler's rise to power, government documents show.

Prescott Bush was one of seven directors of Union Banking Corp. (search), a New York investment bank owned by a bank controlled by the Thyssen family, according to recently declassified National Archives documents reviewed by The Associated Press.

Fritz Thyssen was an early financial supporter of Hitler, whose Nazi party Thyssen believed was preferable to communism.

Both Harrimans and Bush were partners in the New York investment firm of Brown Brothers, Harriman and Co., which handled the financial transactions of the bank as well as other financial dealings with several other companies linked to Bank voor Handel that were confiscated by the U.S. government during World War II. posted 05/15/2008 at 22:50:30

Rather confirmed the story: "There's no doubt in my mind that this is the person." "William Tager's identity as the man who attacked Mr. Rather was established in the course of an investigation by my office", said New York District Attorney Robert M. Morgenthau[40]. McCain's Rough Night Overshadowed By Clinton's

I still think the key for Obama to actually win the general election is this: Will Americans elect a black person to be President of the United States?

We can throw out poll after poll, with people saying they would vote for a person of color, but there aren't many who will admit to their own real feeling regarding race or even gender when asked a question via the pollsters.

I grew up in a large Midwestern city and whenever I return for a visit I have a hell of a time finding many who would vote for a black person...and I'm talking about Democrats, Independents and even some pure liberals (if it's possible to called a liberal in this case). posted 05/07/2008 at 16:03:50
