Growing up in Texas, I understand why the Republican base feels strongly about upholding the "traditional values" espoused by their party. They have often elected many G*d-fearing, self-made men in order to promote the values upon which our country was founded. What they abhor is the idea of the "slicked-back, smooth-talking elite Democrats" who want to change everything they have ever known. I get all that. Sometimes, they elect officials worthy of great esteem, like Congressman Ron Paul. But too often, they are deceived by the Tom DeLays and Dick Armeys-- Agents of intolerance-- driven by greed and power. And you know something? I see that same blind ambition, willful ignorance, and hate-mongering in the McCain/Palin ticket.

I have always been respectful of both major parties in our country because I think the generalities of each party is inaccurate and unfair. But these days, it is getting scary how the values propositions of the Republican base are not allowing for them to vote in their best interest. Both parties have a "wealthy elite," if you will... both parties have intellectuals, both have members of the ever-diminishing middle class, and both have an ever-populating lower class following.

But during this election, people should vote for the more tolerant, cool-tempered and diplomatic party that unites both the themes of Change & Experience. If the lower and middle class want to benefit with better health care, tax cuts, a responsible close to the Iraq War, and new innovations in technology to create more jobs-- then there is only one ticket. And for the wealthy elites and intellectuals, the answer to complex issues plaguing this nation, the ideological positions as well as the ability to regain our standing in the world is with the Obama/Biden ticket.

I currently live and work in Seattle, Washington. In university, I studied political science (focus on international relations and foreign policy), anthropology, sociology, and psychology-- it was the best decision of my life.
