Open Letter to the Presidential Candidates

Wonderful letter! However, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for a response. Currently, Congress has dropped even the pretense of fulfilling their oath of office. Party before people, dollars before duty. Political office has become a lucrative career, and the Constitution is nothing but a technicality to work around. posted 06/26/2008 at 03:42:56

Time for a Grand Inquest into Bush's High Crimes

"She wanted Democrats to focus on challenging the president on the war and on kitchen table concerns -- from energy to education to health care. "

Uh huh. How's that working for us? Republicans need only suggest a filibuster, and the Dems back down obediently. Dems weren't allowed to filibuster when Republicans had the majority because that would label them obstructionists, yet Republicans have used it freely--and to their advantage. Just once I'd like to see the Dems tell them to go ahead and filibuster, and call for a pizza delivery. posted 06/25/2008 at 03:51:59

And War Crimes for All....

And so are we as we sit passively at the keyboard and do nothing. What does it take to get Americans off their butts and in the streets? It is our lack of outrage and involvement which has allowed us to come to this sorry state of affairs. The Bush Administration and Congress will continue to do as they please because they know that We, The People will do nothing. posted 06/18/2008 at 05:49:53

A New US Strategy in the Global Economy?

At this sorry point in time, just what do you suggest we buy? If it doesn't actually say "Made in China", you can bet that most of the materials used to make the product were made there. The US has exported the ability to produce a product "Made in USA". posted 06/19/2008 at 06:52:51

Whose Flag Is This, Anyway?

I'm all for the wearing of flag pins as long as they are "Made in America."

I fail to see how you can support the troops or proclaim your patriotism by sporting a flag pin, ribbon magnet, or waving a flag that bears the "Made in China" label. posted 06/17/2008 at 05:19:53

35 Reasons You Must Call (202) 225-5126

This is so sad--only 7 comments. What will it take to get Americans off their butts and in the streets? This is why the Bush administration feels comfortable in virtually "Up yours!" to the people of the United States. This is why Congress says impeachment--or any other means of holding this gang accountable--is off the table. None of them feel it necessary to fulfill their obligation to their oath of office to serve the American people because they don't have to, and we don't care. posted 06/15/2008 at 05:36:51

An Analysis of Kucinich's Impeachment Case Against Bush

The Bush administration has brazenly flaunted their disregard for the Constitution and the laws of this country, and you think that they should not be held accountable because of political blow-back to Obama? What will it take to make you see that flagrant abuses of power and disregard for the law cannot be allowed to flourish in the Presidency? There is a vast difference between lying over a sexual indiscretion and lies to create and sustain a war of aggression for political and personal gain. This is not a partisan issue, this is about the very core structure of our executive government and the laws of our country. posted 06/12/2008 at 05:53:49

The Truth "Gagged" and Treason Hidden

EXCELLENT ARTICLE!!!

Nancy Pelosi especially should step down as Speaker and remove herself from office--or BE removed. Each and every member of Congress needs to be held accountable for enabling this administration's criminal activities. At the very least, they should be voted out of office, and it needs to be made clear to them that it is for that reason.

Don't give us that bullsh*t line about needing 60 votes! DO SOMETHING! ANYTHING!! Just because you can't be sure of 60 votes doesn't mean you should sit back and allow the looting of our country without protest!

Can we bring back some old time practices like tarring and feathering and/or riding out of town on a rail? posted 06/11/2008 at 03:51:41

Billionaire Texan Helps Divvy Up Iraq Oil, Now Admits It's the Bush Legacy

I must have missed it. Where is the outrage over the recently leaked proposed Iraq Security Agreement giving indefinite and virtually complete control of Iraq to the US? Operation Iraqi Freedom, my ass.... posted 06/08/2008 at 07:06:04
I'm beginning to think this is the new way of doing business--taxpayer funded corporate expansion. Very efficient, when you think about it. There's no expense, and no loss to the corporation since this is funded by US tax dollars. Just profit. posted 06/08/2008 at 06:58:47

The Collapse of the Middle Class, Letters from Vermont and America

The books have been cooked to hide the true state of employment and the economy, as many of us have known for years. I am reminded of that every time I get my paycheck, which has increased a whopping $20 weekly after taxes and health ins. over the last 8 years. I can't even begin to figure out how much my expenses have increased over the same amount of time.

I'm not one of those "bitter" people, I'm just tired. Tired of the constant struggle. Tired of taking one step forward and getting shoved two steps back. Tired of laying awake at night wondering how to juggle paying the bills. Tired of worrying about how to send my kids to college, and IF there is any kind of job for them when they graduate. How do you plan a career when there is virtually no job field safe from being outsourced? How do you pay for that college loan when you can't find employment that pays a living wage? What is the point of going into debt up to your eyeballs if you can't get a job in your profession because it has been outsourced? posted 06/07/2008 at 06:24:39

Senate Report: Bush Used Iraq Intel He Knew Was False

The release of this report means absolutely NOTHING if Congress fails to hold anyone accountable for their actions. I don't care if they don't have the votes for impeachment, there is no reason this can't be brought to the floor. There is no reason to sit down and shut up because the Republicans say so. Somebody needs to have a Mr. Deeds moment.

"Intelligence not supported by the facts", and the other variations of that statement, means that they lied. If we can impeach a President for lying about a sexual indiscretion, why not for lying to manipulate the country into going to war, apparently for the personal profit of many--if not all--of the major players in this game?

Personally, I think Nancy Pelosi should be removed from office if she continues to hold to her statement of "impeachment is off the table." If the US fails to hold this administration accountable for its criminal activity, it may be that someone else will do it for us. posted 06/07/2008 at 06:53:39

What is Edwards Holding Out For?

SO WHAT if John Edwards doesn't endorse? I'm no analyst, expert, or campaign strategist, but I think it's probably the wisest political decision he could make under the circumstances, considering the high emotional responses to this primary contest. Edwards' past voting record has been made an issue, and if he makes the "wrong" choice in endorsement now, it could effectively kill his political future. Far better to take the less divisive role and support the Democratic Party candidate. Let Clinton and Obama fight it out to the end, throw his support behind THE NOMINEE, and work within the new administration to move his campaign message of change forward. posted 03/30/2008 at 07:04:21
