I am a new Democrat. I have been a progressive Republican of the Jacob Javits type, but have changed parties after living in Texas for years and then seeing GW being elected as President. His Harkin peccadillo, even his college days showed he had no character. Then to top it off, I am well aware of his early out of his Air Force commitment during Vietnam, just so he could go campaign for his daddy's friend. And then this guy who finagled out of the military. presided over his silly push for the invasion of Iraq, all based on what he well knew was a pack of lies. Then the mess after the invasion can be laid right at his feet also. A more inept President has never been elected and low and behold, the religious nuts elected him twice just because he whispered "Jesus" a time or two, all the time lying every chance he could get.

Blackwater's Iraq Contract Renewed For At Least Another Year

Nah you have no idea what is going on. I am a registered Republican so you are just flat out wrong. You will see what this WH crew has done to ruin the Republican brand. Wall to wall muck for as far as the eye can see. It is humiliating to have Republicans behave like they have in this administration. I lived in Texas for years and could have written a detailed scenario of the behavior of a Bush Administration. Now all Republicans' blowing and puffing will not save us from years and years of Democrats running things and that is only fair. Republicans have allowed the most corrupt modern administration to operate freely for 8 years and pay day is coming. That is God's way and it will be years before Republicans have much say in our National government. And I, a Republican must say, 'Thank you God. Save our country from this stupidity pushed on us by the Bush cabal". Look at the returns on the early elections and tell me if the Democrat or the Republican was elected. Even in heavily Republican areas the Dems win. Nice to know that God is cleaning house! posted 05/10/2008 at 23:19:17
Nah, we did not elect enough Democrats to control the filibuster. Until we do it is our problem. posted 05/10/2008 at 23:07:42
Actually the opposition is NOT majority enough to stop the feckless Republicans. If you want a real change, elect MORE Democrats to make an unstoppable majority so the Filibuster threat is just noise and silliness. Till we do that we are stuck with immobility in our House and Senate with everyone just left to whine. and we deserve what we get. posted 05/10/2008 at 23:05:40
Actually Blackwater was started in 1998 but had nothing to do with the Clinton Administration. Besides, that is just a dodge that Republicans are using now. Go to any precinct meeting and it is one of their talking points. How like folks in the Republican party to change the subject like that. It is now 10 years later than 1998 and Bush is on the last year of his 8 yrs. in the Presidency. Blackwater today is his baby, has nothing to do with the Clintons and unless one thinks the Clintons are in bed with GW, then even bringing up that subject is done to change the subject from the horrible contractor this administration has chosen to do business with. I am no Clinton loyalist, but blaming Clinton for stuff 8 years in to this administration is simply childish. posted 05/10/2008 at 23:00:36
How silly, it is many years since Clinton was President. You mean Bush is such an ineffective leader that he cannot go against what the Clinton Administration did. And do not forget, this PRESENT administration, JUST NOW, resigned Blackwater for another year. IF you were correct, are you saying that this administration is so dumb they keep making deals with the same Company that one of Clinton's best friends controls? Hmmm, never thought I would meet another Republican backer who refuses to hold this Administration responsible for all THEIR own blunders. Either that, or you believe that Bush is so clueless he just goes on using the same old crooks. Or, they are so dull they must not even know what you claim to know about Penn's deal with Blackwater, eh? How like Republicans (and I am one) to blame someone else. If Republicans do not get the facts about this corrupt Administration and then insist that BUSH and his corrupt cronies clean up their act, we can expect to be out of power for years to come. And that, my dear, will NOT be the Democrats problem. Get real, we are 7 plus years in to the BUSH administration and BUSH is totally responsible for who is contracted to do stuff in Iraq. I really suspect the idea of our Party's blaming someone else for what THEY are doing ended about 7 1/2 years ago. Let's clean up our own mess. posted 05/10/2008 at 22:46:27

NY Times, Washington Post Confirm Arianna's Story That McCain Did Not Vote For Bush

Of course Arianna was telling the truth. Look, McCain recently even lied about his Church membership in North Phoenix Baptist Church when he was trying to impress the far right. He had never even been baptized the way Baptists require. Imagine telling a fib about something like that. A totally useless bit of lies but he wanted to convince the far right he was one of them. However, North Phoenix Baptist Church (the church that he supposedly had membership in) is very progressive and membership there is not enough to claim your devotion to the hate-mongering far right. Anyway, the far right has been so absolutely exposed for their self-centerdness and their attitude to let the country go down the tube for all they care. If one lies about Church Membership to make a hit with the neocons, how much of a leap is it to lie about whether you voted for Bush or not. Besides, if he did vote for Bush after the "Black Baby" incident, he is just crazy and has a total lack of judgment. How great it was that Arianna was able to get the incontrovertible facts out. Indeed, McCain has sold his soul to the far right and he has lost his "straigth talk" ways if indeed, he ever had any. posted 05/09/2008 at 16:15:40

Chris Matthews Admits: MSNBC Bosses Were "Basically Pro-War"

Actually we naturally object to an all out war based on a big lie, I mean a whale of a whopping lie. Sorry, we are all sort of nit-picky about using a lie as the predicate for a war that results in killing of so many GIs and also, the gross number of Iraqis that have been killed, maimed or displaced, all the while, bankrupting our country. You know, we prefer a "MORAL APPROACH" to starting a war, a modicum of honesty. We also hold our President and his administration totally responsible when they told big, whopping lies to get us into a war. We also object to the fact that emails have been destroyed that would have clarified the details about those lies. That so many definitive emails are missing shows this White house bunch clearly broke the law. Either this administration is grossly incompetent or they are a bunch of crooks. Oooops, now that I think of it, they are both!!!! posted 05/08/2008 at 01:37:46

McCain Surrogate Brownback Downplays Hagee's Bigotry

Actually "clever" was his intent, but the statement woefully missed the mark. And what a guy to pick to do it. Remember his sing song parody during a hearing, insulting orientals. Of course a bigot would not be able to recognize bigotry in another. He, no doubt, thinks bigotry is a great thing or he would not have sung the parody of an "Oriental" on National TV. Sooooooooo Brownback, you thought we had forgotten but alas, we had, sort of, but your comments have brought it right back to our minds. Once a bigot, always a bigot until you apologize in front of the entire country which is where you made your snide little sing song about orientals. So, that vulgar, disgusting put down of oriental people still is fresh in our minds. We have no respect for your judgment and realize all too well you are a bigot that accepts the most hateful statements from anyone. posted 05/08/2008 at 00:10:02

What John McCain Told Me, and What it Says About How Far He's Fallen

Very true. In fact, they have been the encouragement that caused me to re register as a Democrat. Actually, truth to tell, Bush is the cause of most Republican's discontent. We are in the mode of anyone but another Republican. This WH bunch has run off all the moderates and they are the ones who are voting in such large numbers in the Democratic race. I giggle every time Limpbaugh brags about his Hillary strategy. In fact, most Republicans had already exited the party and his silly idea had no effect on what has happened.. But in the fall, when Obama is the nominee, just wait, Limpbaugh will be saying that was his strategy all the time. Get it, Rush is not only an illegal drug user, (hardening drugs that is) but he is also the worlds greatest liar. His little plan, if it was indeed a plan for caos has not worked and the exact opposite has occurred. Obama is on his way. Now watch the liar-in-chief say, ummmm, that was my plan all the time. Wanna bet? posted 05/08/2008 at 00:49:33
The difference is that they are very upfront about their change. Like me, they admit to once being Republicans. They do not deny the facts. They tell the truth and even admit to the change. No problem, then. Denying the facts is telling a lie! Anyone is free to change their mind, but to lie and say they never said the first statement when they said exactly what was quoted but now they are saying exactly the opposite, hmmm, that is a lie. We all change our minds. We just do not have a moral lapse that lets us lie about a change of mind. One does not even have to explain about a change of mind. But one is responsible for changing one's mind - end of discussion. Arriana has been very clear about the change. Totally honest about it in fact. Nice try to change the subject though. posted 05/08/2008 at 00:31:33

If anyone could make a little sense in this discussion I would be very happy. I have never heard Arriana say any thing derogatory about the rich. Of course there is plenty to discuss about this out of control White House that has made our country a pariah since we torture, bomb heck out of a country that had NO WMDs, etc. I guess we could ship them off to Gitmo for their illegal behavior. We could even subject them to the same treatment they ordered for the prisoners there. Would only be fair. Stay tuned, it may just happen after a good administration is finally elected to replace the worst of the worst of administrations.. Of course party loyalists who care more about the party than they do about our Country do continue to delude themselves about this worst of all of the Presidents we have ever had. Stay tuned as I say. this President may still be hauled before the war Crimes court before it is all over and it could not happen a minute too soon as far as this EX Republican goes. He has been the shame of our party and it will be years and years before the party ever recovers from Bush Cheney or more appropriately, the Cheney Bush malfeasance. posted 05/07/2008 at 23:44:59
Actually, I feel sort of sorry for you. any one with an ounce of self respect would NOT fall for the phoniness of McCain. I felt very sorry for him in 04 because of the disgusting racism of his fellow Republicans, accusing him of fathering a Black Baby just prior to the southern votes. Well timed to be devastating to him. And now he sucks it up to the same guys who did this to him. I remember the discussions in precinct meeting because I USED to be a Republican. No more after 04 and now, since McCain has sold his soul to that disgusting crowd just to win. He has no integrity left. He even lies outright now. Poor thing has lost his way. The Bush regime has set the Republican Party back for years. This year, I intend to give, work, and help any Democrat that needs my help I am so committed to them to win. The very integrity of our country is at stake. I wish I actually had some recordings from one particular precinct meeting, they would curl anyone's hair,. It had instructions from RNC that look the obvious low road, swift boat sort of approach encouraging everyone ot add to the mess. So after 8 years of disaster with Bush, it is definately time to clean house in the Presidency, the House and the Senate!!! Vote Democratic in all races. Throw the R bums out posted 05/07/2008 at 23:22:49
Wow a very scientific statement that says it all. And, how like the Republican hit machine to try to deny his flip flops. However, Obama will have enough money to counteract this misinformation (ie lies) as put forth by the McCain surrogate machine. To think, this is the guy who so clearly labeled the Bush hate machine and now just to try to win, he sucks up to these demons. Only thing it will not work this time. We have a few swift boat answerers on our side so we can get the facts, even voice reproductions of exactly what McCain has said. As I said, his Straight Talk Express has floundered and he says anything to get elected. But alas, most of us have long memories of the Carolina "black baby" add and we can remind him of just how terrible his chosen bedfellows turn out to be. Certainly he must know, they are NOT his friends at all. Like you Arriana, he is off my list of straight-shooters. McCain has sold his soul and he has joined the Liar in chief. posted 05/07/2008 at 18:14:06

Mary Tillman: The Story Around Pat's Death "Was A Public Deception"

No matter how Pat was killed, he is still a hero and an inspiration to all of us. Just think, he gave up that pile of money to go and fight for his country. Now that is patriotism to the nth degree as shown by all the other brave men and women who went to Iraq. The problem with this situation has nothing to do with his PATRIOTISM, but for sure, with the lying, cheating, no values administration that allowed that to happen. The worst thing is for the Bush crowd to allow the lie to continue well after they knew the facts. But alas, this is the guy who lied about the smallest matters so who could expect any honesty from him. But alas, the truth is out and we all know what a den of liars is present in the White House and in the upper echelons of the military. But that is the sort of minimal "Clarity" statement this guy has always used when discussing his entire Administration. Poor thing is actually delusional. He is so out of touch, he may even be able to pass a lie detector test regarding his statements. That fact does not make what he says accurate. In fact, coming from this guy, one could bet that it is subterfuge and win almost every time. The landslide of Democrats elected could not come soon enough to suit this has=been moderate Republican. I do not even care that John Gibson is so publicly homophobic that it appears he is covering for his own sexual identity crisis. On the other hand, he might just be mean as all get out and a nasty, hateful, stupid person with no class. Take your pick. Or maybe both apply to him. Hmmm I note that you forgot one small detail. Bush was the President and the Republicans controlled the Executive and both the House and Senate. It is absolutely stupid to think that the Democratic controlled congress could do anything about the financial mess that all of those guys inflicted on our country, with the thin majority we sent them. If you want aggressive handling of the financial mess. elect a big majority of Democrats to the House and Senate as well as to the Presidency. Only then can we expect the economy to improve. This administration and their buddies like Blackwarer, KBR and Bechtel have ripped off our country royally and even then, they have mucked the very projects they were paid to oversee. This administration has given us such a mess that it will take years to recover if it is even possible. So please face up to the absolute facts. \This mess id as Budh mess. John McCain's (W)right Problem

Any one who listens to Hannity and most of all, reacts to what he says, has to be brain dead. Hannity is a shill for the vast right wing conspiracy. Those are the facts. But of all things that McCain should not bring up, it is religion. Remember he lied about being a member of the North Phoenix Baptist Church. I believe his wife, the beer queen is a member along with their children. Only thing, McCain has never been baptized and to be a member of that Church, you have to have Baptist baptism, not sprinkling as they do in McCain's real church, Episcopal. You have to have no moral rudder whatsoever when you lie about being a member of a mainline conservative Church. Go figure. Guess he will even lie about Church membership to suck up to the conservative Wing Nuts in his party. posted 04/29/2008 at 16:20:59

It is worth a huge, long giggle to think of Bush doing anything that requires more than two seconds of thought.. Bush is so light weight when it comes to sound thinking that he will go to his ranch and clear the brush and that is it. He could not even run a war against a two bit country with any sense of competence. When he leaves the White House, we do not expect him to do anything but show up for the ex- presidents gala each year. posted 04/29/2008 at 13:59:16
Actually, President Carter surely must make neo-cons nervous. He is brilliant, fair, knowledgeable, and most of all, honest. He actually served his military stint on a nuke sub - every day of it, not campaigning for his daddy's friend who was running for office, not like this president did, abandoning his job of protecting our southern border, actually brilliantly matriculating at University, and finally being a great President. As I recall, in the very tense years he was President, he actually talked to Middle East politicians and ended up with the Camp David Accords. Too bad the next President lacked the moxie to build on those great efforts by Carter. However, I am aware that neocons do not like anyone who actually does the right thing instead of strutting about and making dismal war on others, and that, not even done well. War in Iraq for as far as the eye can see, Bankrupting our country so it is now in recession, and unless we elect some creative Democrat, we will end up in depression. Yep, give me Carter any time in comparison to this sloth we have in the Oval Office now. posted 04/29/2008 at 13:03:42

God bless Huffington Post for their fine reporting. I remembered hearing him say it but I could not locate the statement since I forgot exactly where he was when he said it. John McCain's White Supremacist Problem

The problem is that McCain actually has a known and provable relationship with a racist. His buddies in South Carolina, folks of like mind, will be fine with that. Others see it as equal to the friendship between Wright and Obama. If one is wrong, both are wrong or if one is fine, both are fine. However the charge regarding his racism is not my only problem with McCain. His comments about this horrible economy that is fast going in the dumps is what boggles my mind. We all know his little wife can afford all the gas they need if his Senate salary runs short. BUT, the guy has no clue about finances ordinary Americans have to face everyday. Even so, the RNC tries to make a big deal out of the Democrats actually posting McCains very own words regarding the economy in their new ad. Actually the Democrats did play his exact words and now the RNC is furious about a truthful ad. Further, his statement about 50 to 100 years in Iraq, besides being an insane idea on its face, will directly affects our economy as this mess in Iraq to date has already done. Amazing. And the straight shooter that I once knew is now sucking it up to that disgusting group in our party. So I am re-registering and not a minute too soon. No doubt, late even. posted 04/28/2008 at 21:03:34

Rev. Jeremiah Wright's Media Blitz Forces Barack Obama to Face the Angry Black Man Test -- Again

It is YOUR assumption that none of us have done anything about the Halliburton testimonies today. I have already sent off long emails followed up by detailed letters to the following: Senators Kyle and McCain, Representative Jeff Flake., Secretary of Defense, Robert Gates and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, Admiral Mullen. So your assumption is totally incorrect. Have you done the same? posted 04/28/2008 at 23:10:52
Obama did NOT lie. And while we are discussing racists, how about the guy on McCain's staff and further McCain himself. As Congressman in 1983, McCain voted against the federal Martin Luther King Holiday.to honor the civil rights leader. The motion passed 89-77 in the Senate and also passed in the House. The Holiday was later rescinded by the governor of Arizona, Mecham and here is John McCain"s comment: "I think the Governor was correct in his decision." His excuse now is that "his opinion has evolved" McCain consistently voted Against The Civil Rights Act Of 1990. He said it would hurt employers who were convicted of job discrimination. Sounds just like his reply to the Eqaul Pay for women bill he just voted to put on hold. He is for protecting illegal discrimination regarding employment as well as equal treatment for women. And NOW, he supports his strategist, Richard Quinn, an editor of a racist magazine that constantly publishes racist material. Quinn supported David Duke, Nazi House candidate from Louisiana who finally lost. McCain feels "Quinn is a respected and fine man". McCain obviously did not think Quinn, the racist, needed to be fired from his campaign staff. Still he harks about Obama. He is a fraud. posted 04/28/2008 at 22:55:26

Well, when the Administration always brags about the remarkable success in Iraq, one is left to only imagine what failure would look like. The administration is lying about the progress of the war. The progress is NOT tied to what Petreus is doing but rather on the whims of the Sadrists. We have NO control over that bunch and they will end up going on and on with these sorts of attacks. But I can see why a Bush supporter needs to downplay the muck in Iraq, however, anyone who can read can get the facts so that sort of excuse making falls far short of helping this hapless administration. I always compare this mess with the Kosove situation during the Clinton Administration. Of course Clinton had competant folks running the war and he actually listened to the experts,

I am a moderate Republican but alas, I wish that this President we are stuck with was only 10% as successful in its war as Clinton was. Alas, the truth hurts, eh? I can understand that. posted 04/27/2008 at 17:51:10

Justice Dept Says US Spies Can Use Interrogation Methods That Would Be Prohibited By International Law

How strange that anyone would reduce the discussion about the very moral fiber of our country by such a silly statement. It is obvious to me that all the time we brag about being a civilized, "Christian" nation but then this administration has majored on behavior totally unbecoming to the Christian ethic. However, why should it surprise me. This president is the same drunk Frat boy who skidded through his college days drinking and driving with no worried cause his daddy could fix up his tickets. He is the same guy who sold his Harkin stock on insider information he had about the stock crashing the next day. Daddy covered him in the investigation on this one too. Oh yes, he is the same fly boy who got a bit tired of providing intercept flights to any invader through our south borders during the Vietnam war and dodged his duty by going to work for his Daddy's Senator buddy running for election, all arranged by Daddy. Ethically, this administration has pushed us back into the dark ages. I am no flaming liberal. Now it is obvious he will say anything, do anything and allow anything just to suck it up to the far right of the Republican Party. His association with Rove is like some battered person who has no ego strength on their own so they keep going back and back and back to the batterer. You are confusing the issue. This woman had the very same evaluations as her male counterparts but they did not give her equal raises. male counterparts, no matter the equal scoring on her objective evaluation. I worked for a group in East Texas who got caught in this same situation,. The company gave ALL white people raises and denied raises for their black employees with the same evaluation score. This was done on the issue of race. That company suffered huge fines, was actually administered by the court until they proved they could be trusted to treat employees equally based on merit. To blur the issue with these red herrings is the work of folks like McCain. He feels it is the right of employers to treat employees in any disgusting manner they please. Unfortunately, this court loaded by this Bushie Administration has forgotten the "equal protection" clause of our Constitution even though the far right constantly yammers about following the Constitution. Further more, I intend to work and give and support any Democrat running up and down the ticket so we can march these war criminals in the White House over to the Hague for a trial so we can tell the world Americans DO NOT put up with torturers and renegade, rogue behavior. Right now, my mantra is "Anyone but a Republican". posted 04/22/2008 at 21:32:55

Karl Rove Offers Mind-Bending Take On 'Flag Lapel Pin' Issue

I loved Bob's answer to Turdblossom as his boss calls him. My mother would never let me say naughty words but perhaps she will forgive me for saying his nick name is perhaps the most brilliant accomplishment Bush has made in his entire administration. There, I said it anyway. Mom. But even with these words I cannot outdo Bob. He said it all. So next time I see Mr. Bush wearing a flag in his lapel, I shall upchuck right on the spot. He is headed for a war crimes trial if anyone has any guts at all. posted 04/21/2008 at 01:58:59

John McCain, Charles Grassley Physical Altercation Confirmed By Washington Post

I NEVER read any crap from Faux news. I would have to divide by 10,000 and subtract 9,999 before reaching the truth in any news they put out. Nice try but most of us here are brighter than that. Not that I plan to vote for Clinton but your hit job is a waste of time. We here are far too smart for that. posted 04/21/2008 at 01:46:03
Yes, picture him in some tense conference with life or death issues, not just a simple difference of opinion, and try to tell me he is safe to have his finger on the bomb??? Every person who plans to vote for this guy needs to think long and hard about this problem of his. Is he dependable enough - even though his behavior results form his treatment as a POW, and thast makes me very sad for him. But, the fact remains, can we safely have someone with their finger on the bomb who is that touchy? I wrote in his name in the 2004 election just because I knew George Bush to be nothing but a Texas playboy. Unfortunately I knew Bush all too well after living so long in Texas. But this election cycle is different. Since McCain has a chance to win. this time, I shall vote for anyone but McCain, whoever that is. posted 04/21/2008 at 01:40:21

NYT Op-Ed: The Torture Sessions

Get busy and send more Democrats this election is the answer. Useless exercise now cause the Senate could not convict. Not enough Democrats. posted 04/21/2008 at 02:27:29
He could be charged this session but walk free because there are not enough Dems in the Senate to convict. Wait till next Congress and work to make sure there are big majorities of Democrats, enough to convict him and then to kick him and his fellow Nazis all the way to the Hague as war criminals. And this is a has been moderate Republican speaking!!!!! You know the Jacob Javits type. But I am embarrassed to admit it now. posted 04/21/2008 at 02:25:26
Not to worry. "Looks" sort of like Bush has a flag pin in his lapel, so he must be a true patriot, eh? Ahh but those niggling torture facts. The reason we need to send a slew of Democrats to the House and Senate is so they can finally investigate the malfeasance and down right war crimes perpetrated by this administration. And then they can have the guts to turn this bunch, including the flag pin expert, Rove, over to the Hague for trial. Only then can we live down the shame of this administration. posted 04/21/2008 at 02:17:26

Clinton Faces Steady Erosion Of Support

Actually there are NO good reasons to reject Obama. He is a wonderful candidate. All that crap pushed by Republicans is just that, CRAP!!!!! Amazing that anyone does not see that, but alas, to each his own. Did anyone listen to the speeches of both of these candidates. Both were filled with nice compliments for the other and completely devoid of the venom I see here. Amazing. Democrats have two wonderful candidates and I shall work hard, give money and enlist voters to elect whichever. Our country is in such a mess that it is inconceivable to me to see all this bickering against both/either of the candidates. posted 04/23/2008 at 02:54:43
Actually it is not spinning. What is there about Democrats that viciously attack their own. It amazes me. Look, the choices are Barack, Clinton or McCain. Neither Obama nor Clinton will have enough delegates to win the nomination so it will be a brokered convention. Not to worry, that has happened to Democrats before. it will be fine unless Democrats talk like some of these posts and kill off the candidate we end up with. If anyone feels so upset, whichever person wins the nomination, then don't vote OR vote for McCain who plans to continue in Iraq for the next 100 years. Further, enough Democrats could make sure this disgusting bunch in the White House is marched right into the Hague and tried for war crimes. Up to you. For me, I want all the Democrats we can elect and I am even a 'has-been" Republican. At no time in the history of our country have we been in such a need of Democrats to work together to get this country on a path to moral clarity. Amazing that Democrats continue to devour their own. posted 04/23/2008 at 02:46:36

McCain: We'll Look Back On Iraq As An 'Academic Argument'

Sounds about like McCain, eh? Imagine someone discussing the Iraq invasion in a "theoretical" way, given that it was started on a pack of lies, it has caused thousands of Iraqi deaths, it has decimated the Iraq economy, it is bankrupting our country, it has been used to prop up this disgusting Bush administration for the last 7 years, AND most of all it has caused the horror of the death of so many of our best and brightest young people. Additionally, it has strained our military capabilities to the limit, and placed huge burdens on military families while Bush et al calmly yak about how wonderful the Iraq war is going. Definitely time to get rid of this crew in office now and God help us if we elect someone who thinks of this illegal Iraq war as an "academic argument". You have to be totally out of touch with reality to say some stupid thing like that. Wonder if McCain gave any thought about how that comment would affect a grieving wife and mother who now has the family SHE is alone responsible for? posted 04/16/2008 at 20:19:13

Fox News Anchor's Son, Peter Doocy, Asks John McCain About Hillary's Drinking On Hardball College Tour

McCain is Bush 3 and will finish off our economy by gigantic spending in Iraq. All his blow-hard statements about the budget being out of whack is fluff. He plans to continue Bush's war, and he surely plans to let the military that has given their guts over there wonder about his commitment to helping them when they finish their tours. He is campaigning (gutlessly quiet though it be) against the new Webb proposal for the GI bill for Iraq vets. The guy has sold his soul to win this one. posted 04/16/2008 at 02:51:52

But on the other hand, when forced into the corner, we can always bring up a PROVABLE drug problem that caused Cindy McCain to get prescription pain killers by stealing prescriptions a doc signed and put her fellow employees names on them. McCain "Family Recipes" Lifted from the Food Network

The problem Cindy McCain ahs is that she not oly steals credit for a recipe, but she also has a history of stealing drugs. posted 04/15/2008 at 03:33:56
Actually the very saddest thing this poor woman did was to illegally obtain controlled substance drugs on phony prescriptions made out by physicians who worked at the charity she worked for and then purchased drugs with them in the name of employees of her charity, She made it through all of this drug connected theft without a felony charge. Go figure. if Joe Schmoo had done such a thing he would land in court very quickly followed by getting hauled off to the Arizona State Penitentiary.. So please, when you talk about her in such glowing terms, add this little anecdote. With all that money she could have bought street drugs but probably chose the agency's drugs prescriptions to rip off since she feared a felony charge. I note she was not prosecuted for her theft either. Money talks for sure. So next time they make such a glowing report, remember she is a druggie, she may be a recovered druggie but she still was one and broke the law to feed her habit. So next time someone brings up Bill Clinton's behavior. lets hear it about the spouse of the Republican running now. McCain Said It, Before He Attacked It

Please, Mr. Rocketman, read exactly what you said and then think a bit. McCain is one of the two sponsors of the amnesty bill for Immigrants. Nice try to change the subject, but if McCain was talking about immigrants in that statement, and he is, of all men. most disingenuous. He and Ted Kennedy together sponsored the Immigration Reform Bill that provided for citizenship of hundreds of thousands of illegal Immigrants. I thought it was a good bill by the way, but for McCain to now get all prissy about immigration as you stated, well it is simply disingenuous and in fact, a lie he tells to get the far right votes. it shows him to be without bedrock beliefs, that anyone can jerk his chain and get him to throw away his values, or that he is just a plain, ordinary liar politician who has no bedrock beliefs. Take your pick. posted 04/13/2008 at 02:02:22
Hmmmm, are you talking about the same McCain that is running for President. Remember, he is the one, along with Kennedy, who tried to push a bill that gives citizenship to thousands of those same illegal immigrants he is crabbing about now. Amazing how his tune changes now that he is sucked into the Bush "hate immigrant crowd" since he wants their vote. McCain, the "straight talk express" guy is just more of the same as Bush. Say just anything to get elected, abandon your principles and to heck with honesty. George Bush: I Was Aware Of Harsh Tactics Meetings

I know that joke you just told is so funny I cannot stop laughing. The President in a foxhole. Maybe you need to review his history. This is the guy who left his flight duties to protect our Southern Border so he could go work on his daddy's friend's election. He has never done one thing on his own without his daddy's push. He is a shirker and a despot and to think, he was elected to lead our country and in the end, God will judge him for the despot he has allwed himself to be. In Texas, he always took the line of least resistance, his college life was just a lark, and his entire life has been manipulated by his father. I have no respect for a President who deos not control his own government and who cedes his job to Mr. Cheney who is a true criminal behind this hapless President. Bush's daddy pushed Cheney for Vice-President so Cheney could really run things sine Bush 1 actually understood how hapless his son really is. Your respect him? Now you have me giggling away here. What a joke!!!! posted 04/12/2008 at 23:03:17
Yes and international norms, and remember, we are signed on to the anti abuse treaties. Of course, to adhere to them one would need a President with some moral rudder that understands that ignoring our international obligations in this matter invites sub human treatment of our military when our men and women are captured. Of course it is obvious that that idea is far too difficult for Mr. Bush to understand. He truly may even lack the mental capability to reason out these difficult moral issues. But then, he always has Cheney, his daddy's pick to supervise Bush. Sad to say, that opens the door for this criminal behavior our government has endorsed throughout this administration. posted 04/12/2008 at 22:48:12

Morally deficient folks make ridiculous claims that circumstances change immutable laws of acceptable behavior. I cannot accept situational ethics. It is either legal or illegal and be sure of this, in the end, God will get the guy who approved this disgusting, shameful behavior on the part of our supposed law abiding country. Inappropriate Hottie Rundown: Polygamist Sect Leaders

It might help you to get the facts straight for a change. The fire was caused by David Koresh. He is the one who had the inflammatory stuff where it was just for the reason that he knew the government would try to rescue those abused children. I personally knew his mother, a great Seventh Day Adventist lady and she was always sure that her son would never allow any one in that compound to live because it was his plan to kill everyone of them so there would be no evidence to convict him and send him to prison to be abused, since he knew he was a pedophile. And excusing the absurd, illegal behavior of anyone who decided to commit a mass murder by reciting his phony statement is ludicrous. Whatever happened to the far right's obsessive use of the individual responsibility mantra in this case. No one but the perp is responsible, whether the perp is Keresh or McVey, or anyone else. Just listen to how they constantly downplay the malfeasance of this administration. They love to gossip monger about Republicans and Democrats who disagree with this Administration's tainted take of the news. Totally unbelievable that Mike Wallace could father someone like Chris Wallace. A Bushie from stem to stern. If I ever heard him confront some of the Bush malfeasance, I would faint on the spot. Try lying face up on a bed, hold you nose and pour a bunch of water over your face. letting whatever water finds its way into you mouth remain there and finally enter your lungs when you gasp for breath. Then please tell me it is fine to use this barbaric method of getting intel. As McCain himself said, intel gathered this way is hopelessly inaccurate. Besides, it is ungodly and God will allow depression and mayhem to occur in our country when we act like barbarians. Actually some things are even worse than a terrorist threat. And one of those "worst" things if for the administration of our country to be embroiled in such a disgusting activity as water boarding. So the next time someone captures one of our military, we have absolutely no moral ground to object to whatever despicable treatment they give the captive. What in the world has this administration done to the reputation of our country. Their behavior might not humiliate you, but it certainly bodes poorly for any military personnel that gets picked up by our enemy. God help us recover from this totally UNCHRISTIAN behavior of our government. Is John McCain A Muslim? A Conversation With The Real McCain Author Cliff Schecter

Amazing to read that sort of post. As a matter of fact, the Clinton years were the most prosperous years we have had for decades. Remember this jerk we have as a President inherited a big surplus and enough good financial years that we could have been in fine shape now. Instead, Bush 2, the disaster, is leaving a debt for as far as the eye can see, our military over-stressed and over-stretched, and our entire country in disarray. Either Democratic Candidate suits me fine. I am hard pressed to choose between them. I will before the General but for now, I enjoy hearing all I can about both Democratic Candidates. I was not anti-McCain till he sold his soul to get the Republican nut house types and gave up his moral rudder. Now he promises us a Bush 3 sort of administration and I say, NOOOOOOOOOOOO thanks!!!!! Enough killing fields in Iraq already and to extend that is inhuman. posted 04/11/2008 at 01:53:19

Jon Stewart Awards Obama "Dick Move of the Week"

Nader, who has no remorse for giving us 8 years of Bush, surely stands for himself only. The idea that he is a "Johnny-come-lately" to the race with no other result than to elect another Republican tells us more about Nader's egocentric ideas than anything else. Although it is their perfect right, anyone voting for Nader is 1. Electing John McCain. 2. More of this insane war in Iraq, bumbled from the very beginning and which continues to be supported by McCain and 3. An economy in the dumps that will soon result in a depression.. McCain is so deluded that he thinks the war is going just fine. Imagine that! A Nader vote means more of the same. Even the financial mess of our country will surely get worse and worse with money flooding to the top few and the "common folks" as McCain calls them, will be destitute before it is over. Then we will need another Roosevelt to rescue our wounded country. So folks are free to vote for Nadar instead of Obama, but do it with some insight as to exactly what you are going to do. The biggest problem will be that there is grave doubt that there is another Roosevelt in either party. It will be very sad for our country. You know, Republican national debt up to our eyeballs and our industrial base decimated by graft from the Cheney cabal, and no way out. posted 04/12/2008 at 21:31:43

Actually it is a trick of the bamboozelers to assume that the Bush approval rating is as high as 19%. The guy has mucked up every last thing he has touched. Remember this is the guy who inherited a huge surplus. has spent that surplus plus billions more, who has gotten the US into this illegal war that seems to be lasting as far as the eyes can see, who has broken every rule that protected individuals from an intrusive government and involved us in a war that never ends. Now, employment figures are in the dumps, his cronies have allowed financial institutions to rob our country and loan on the flimsiest credit worthiness. We have a depression just around the corner and he has ruined the Republican brand for a life time. What a guy. And he is absolutely oblivious to his shortcomings. Sorry but there are millions of hidden costs to this war. Remember, if our country has any decency, we will understand the obligation we have for those Military folks who have given so much of their life to this illegal and stupid war. Although the chance of that happening with a Republican in the White House is slim to none, Of course I am sure Bush has no sense of owing anyone but himself. We have Shaken Brain Syndrome and all sorts of problems with odd infections form serving in Iraq, and we have promised these volunteers to pay for school and medical care and psychiatric assistance for as long as they live. Yep the bill in suffering is out of sight and so will be our moral responsibility because we will have the decency to make sure these guys are taken care of. However, you are probably correct if you are assessing Bush's sense of moral obligation to the military. He simply is far too self-absorbed to think of these men and women who not only sacrificed their lives, but also sacrificed their health and emotional well-being. posted 03/26/2008 at 05:29:11

Not one thing "closet" about Hannity's racism and 'judgmentalism'. He might want to clean up his own associates before he blabs about Obama's. And by the way, there is surely a lot more credibility about Wright's statements, even though his statements just stir up resentment, but at least Wright sticks to the facts. Why the Democrats Should Use the "Defeat" Word

In as much as it was possible to win such a stupid war ginned up by this administration, we won. In fact we could have brought our military home the minute we captured Sadaam and then we should have given money to Iraqis for rebuilding. If we had done so, for a small pittance of the continuing cost of this war, huge numbers of Iraqis could have been employed in the rebuilding process. We could have sent in State Department mentors to help Iraqis find their way without Sadaam. This continuing war is a plan to transfer huge amounts of our treasury to the war profiteers and to give Bush 2 the feeling that he is finally superior to his Daddy. Both ideas are delusional and account for the dismal state of our economy. All the surplus he inherited is gone and we are in debt for as far as the eye could see. posted 03/22/2008 at 23:03:39

In fact the statement first was broadcast from (guess where), yep Fox News. What we requires is at least a modicum of fairness in such a rabble-rousing network like Fox. McCain Spiritual Guide Accused Gov't Of Enabling 'Black Genocide'

Not all Republicans agree with that very biased assumption! The idea that any of us are the judge of who is a good person and who is not is antithetical to the Scripture. We make assumptions based on a person's behavior and what the Scripture says. But in the end, the Bible, in very clear words, instructs us to worry about our own sinful nature and leave conviction of people to God. Now that makes two ministers that are far, far into running down other faiths. McCain seems to attract them and he seems to sell off his straight talk express so he can garner the conservative far to the right Christians to his campaign. I liked him a lot better when he had the guts to call these guys on their behavior. But it should not be a surprise. Remember, Mr. McCain is the guy who claimed to be a member of a Southern Baptist Church when he in fact, had never been baptized and even in the Senate records he is listed as an Episcopalian. He was so desperate to suck it up to the neo-cons that he even lied about his Church membership. posted 03/21/2008 at 17:31:15
