Obama picks up delegates in Kan., Md., Nev.

Are you opposed to Edwards? They certainly seem attractive together. I am afraid that if so many Dems are opposed to HIllary, the Republicans all loathe her. We need crossovers as well as Democrats. Of course, John failed twice as a nominee and then on the ticket with Kerry. Edwards sure seemed on fire when he was discussing Obama last night on Situation Room. I heard Jim Webb didn't want it. I admire him a great deal but he seems taciturn and rather stern to me. Also Webb is a newcomer to the political scene just like Barack. We need allure on this ticket as well as expertise. posted 05/17/2008 at 14:18:41

For Assassination Joke, Huckabee Should Be Off TV

As Chris Matthews pointed out so succinctly on Hardball last night - there are a lot of nuts out there and Obama, being the sort of intensely charismatic and exciting figure that he is, could be prone to a crazed gunman's attack. It happened to JFK, RFK and MLK who were inspirational public icons that engendered a great deal of excitement and hope in Americans.

As savvy as we are today, these public figures and politicians should not be allowed to speak out on that subject regarding anyone. Huckabee knew what he was doing when he said that. He should get the cold shoulder from cable pundits and news heads. But I bet you, Joe Scarborough will have him Monday morning. posted 05/17/2008 at 10:31:53

Obama's Struggle With Typical Liberal Hypocrisy

I just hope the American electorate can get past their ignorance exhibited in the last eight years of a retarded, fascist administration. Barack Obama doesn't talk down to us. He attempts to elevate us with his brilliant mind. Republican and right wing cries of terrorism, war, fear mongering, Arab and Iranian madness: STOP CHECKING OUT THE SOUND BITES AND STUDY THE CONTENTS. Our nation has lost it balance, the Middle East has become a deadlier place, thanks to Bush and Cheney and the world is in a food crisis.

Put on your thinking caps, ALL AMERICANS. Elect Obama and find that we will have turned a corner in our nation.....a corner that will head us in the right direction. posted 05/17/2008 at 10:43:07

GOP House Leaders Disrespect American Flag

The people against Obama accuse we Obama voters of being rabid in favor of our candidate. I have noticed a great deal of this on the part of Obama detractors. I, for one, have read all three of his books and consider them wonderful. The struggles that made him the person he is cannot be laughed at. He is the amazing product of a white woman, ahead of her time and an African man who achieved a Harvard Education, having been a goat herder at one point. Barack Obama struggled to find his way and in the process became a beacon of hope for voters in America. Laugh and scoff if you will but it's the truth. And we Obama Nation inhabiters will laugh all the way to inauguration day in 2009.

Paul, as a former fan, I have been disillusioned that you were not for Obama but then everyone has his druthers. However, you are so right about this disgrace we call President. He is one the most egregious, ignoble creatures I have almost ever witnessed anywhere much less on the world stage as our leader. I would suppose that he ignores any sort of negotiations with 'tarorists' and those deemed as such in his retarded vision, because aside from Khaddafi, they all came to naught. I think France was the successful one in bringing Khadaffi into line.

George Bush has been a disgrace ever since he stole the election from Al Gore using his brother's office in Florida and the wacked out supreme court. A much more comprehensive disgrace is the failure of Congress and Senate to impeach him during his first term when he lied us into a war. posted 05/15/2008 at 13:33:55

Massive Blowback To NARAL's Obama Endorsement

I, as a woman, senior citizen, single, low income bracket, white and living in the deep south, am so damned sick and tired of being lumped in a group that is supposed to go ga ga over Hillary Clinton and her feminists supporters.

I am an independant thinker who settled on Barack Obama when he first spoke at the Kerrry convention in 2004. This sisterhood that is supposed to back Clinton and those so violently for her, offends me as a woman. I am proud of NARAL's Political Action Committee and sick and tired of the ilk of women like Wasserman and Pappas with their dog eared passion for Clinton.

Edwards Delegates Switches To Obama

I have been on and off the fence about John Edwards for some time now. Last night it was a big hooray for him. I can see these two vital young men, Obama and Edwards, as a ticket for the Democrats. Both have incredible stories to tell of poverty and struggle on a personal basis. I looked at them standing there last night in Grand Rapids and thought to myself, "Here is our ticket for a win in the fall." Both are young, dynamic and with great charisma. An added plus would be their wives - the popular Elizabeth Edwards with the dynamic Michelle Obama. It's a thrilling thought. posted 05/15/2008 at 10:37:30

I think that John McCain's reference to the Iranians releasing the hostages on the eve of Reagan's inaugartion was laughable. This was more a product of the promises Reagan made to Iran. She won't back down from a mistake. This woman is George W. Bush in a pant suit and beads. posted 05/05/2008 at 11:30:25

Eight Belles Coverage: Did NBC Blow It?

The problem is not the media coverage. MSM guys will salivate over this type of story until the cows come. The main story here is animal cruelty. T posted 05/05/2008 at 11:22:50

Dead Kentucky Derby Filly the Elephant in the Room

You seem to be of the same mindset of those that race and abuse these beautiful animals - it's just a horse, you say. My God! posted 05/05/2008 at 10:00:36
As a retired Humane Officer and a horse back rider, I detest sports that stress these beautiful animals to the 'breaking point'. Steeple chases and races take young horses and pit them against one another in a horrifying few minutes with the jockey's whipping them to a finish. IT IS EGREGIOUS. I think ordinary horse shows, barrel racing and a few other horse events are reasonably okay but those that put pressure on those slender vulnerable legs just won't do. Let's have a ban on this drunken social soiree referred to as the Kentucky Derby. Can't these porky chaps with fancied hatted ladies just get drunk and win a lottery on the grounds? Do horses have to suffer and die to satisfy their greed for power, money and a royal blast? posted 05/05/2008 at 09:53:43

Carville: If Hillary Gave Obama "One Of Her Cojones, They'd Both Have Two"

They call and ask me for money and I donated during Kerry's run but I have told them this time that I will not pledge a bloody thing until I am sure Hillary Clinton won't steal this nomination from Obama. posted 05/06/2008 at 11:36:10
Barack Obama has withstood the mudslinging with grace and dignity. He doesn't have to descend into the depths of the gutter wallowing crowd who want to test men's testicular advantage.

YES WE CAN! OBAMA '08. posted 05/06/2008 at 11:32:04
Ontheroad38, that was a great point you just made. Real women who are world leaders, and I could mention a few, don't have to run around wearing pants suits and acting like a dick to get their point across. Hillary Clinton has got several cogs missing from her psyche. The woman from hell who is going to nuke Iran but can't even back off from a husband who disgraced her in a act of infidelity that was felt around the globe. Go figure. posted 05/06/2008 at 11:28:24
Our nation's prediliction for an overdose of male testosterone and gonads got us the village idiot for president and eight years of national hell. Who needs it? OBAMA has those in addition to brains, intellect and genuine character. I used to like James Carville when he was bashing Bush but he has his head screwed on wrong these days. I guess it's Hillary-itis. For shame, Carville. I am sick of this entire caravan of Clinton lunatics. Enough already! posted 05/04/2008 at 17:09:32

Clinton Defends 'Obliterate Iran' Comment, Obama Calls It Bush-Style 'Cowboy Diplomacy'

As quoted on the Stephanapoulas show this morning: "I think we have to be very clear about what we would do," Clinton said. "I don't think it is time to equivocate about what we would do.

"I sure want to make it abundantly clear to them that they would face a tremendous cost if they did such a thing."

HUH? WHAT? THIS WOMAN IS CRACKERS! posted 05/04/2008 at 13:02:40

Eight Belles, Kentucky Derby Horse, Dies On Track

Also I happened to note that the projected winner was a stallion named 'Big Brown'. Does this smack of racial undertones as well as sexism?

The whole tragic unfolding of this year's Derby just reinstates the tenet that horse racing and steeple chases are cruel events attended by the fancy bonneted big gutted crowd. posted 05/04/2008 at 12:07:12
I think to honor the memory of the gallant Eight Bells, we should stop associating her with strident and nasal Hillary Clinton. No gallant horse deserves this as her epitaph. posted 05/04/2008 at 12:02:39

Although an Obama fan, I feel that this little filly that Hillary made the focus of such political attention, is the true victim in this. This was a young horse who fell prey to the strains of the racing game. These animals are too vulnerable physically to put that sort of pressure on in a dead heat race. Small legs and huge stomachs filled with a mile of intestine. If it weren't for the fat assed owners who are rich and fancy getting richer, horse meets of any sort would be considered barbaric. posted 05/04/2008 at 11:00:16
Kalima, I agree with you. I would love to see Bush and Cheney face some maned lions in the arena. Humans are an egregious lot. We have managed to diss an entire planetary system with our crap. posted 05/04/2008 at 10:53:22
I'm sorry to hear a person say something like that. This IS a tragedy. Like the people of Darfur and other stricken parts of the globe, these horses are a made to suffer the wages of human greed. Those people amid great tragedy in the world are victims of human avarice just as these horses who make millions for their fat obscene owners. posted 05/04/2008 at 10:50:40

Obama wins close race, beats Clinton in Guam

Not the Israelis.....they are too busy sucking up to them. The Clintons are in bed with the Israelis. Remember her threat to nuke Iran and destroy it if they threaten a hair on Israel's national head?

GO OBAMA!!! posted 05/03/2008 at 13:06:39
Hillary Clinton has become the empress of pandering. She panders here, she panders there. No regard for the truth. The MSM keeps sucking up to her with the exception of Keith Olbermann and Jack Cafferty. If that whale tail becomes our leader, I might move to Guam. I can't stomach anymore of those gargantuan pants suits, multicolored jackets and just 'too precious' neckwear. At least Guam has no taxes and warm trade winds. posted 05/03/2008 at 13:03:13
We have major military bases there. Everyone should be able to vote that carries an American flag as their emblem. These people have the right to vote. posted 05/03/2008 at 12:56:28

Arab & American Journalists: A Comparison

I have been an admirer of yours for a long time, Mr. Zogby. I am looking forward to the day when hopefully a President Barack Obama will help heal the rifts and fractures in the Middle East with an even handed policy and 'Arab' will no longer be a dirty word in this country. posted 05/04/2008 at 12:28:14
