Clinton Protest Voters for McCain

Marsh, you forgot to mention the Clinton campaign trading in coded rascism. It would seem to me that should balance out any slights that Clintonistas feel.

On the other hand if these offended woman vote McCain in, the nation as a whole will suffer. Hardly the actions of a political faction seeking validation. Of course one could argue considering the undercurrent of rascism in the country, a disastrous McCain presidency would be what we deserve, maybe we haven't hit bottom yet. posted 05/16/2008 at 16:55:27

Who would have thought that a Democrat (Jay Rockerfeller) would lead the effort to hide corporate crimes (retro-active immunity for telecoms) as well as limit civil liberties and promote a surveillance state. You're deluded. Wright is promulgating some things that many of us, who are intimate with black culture, have heard for almost two decades, coded hate speech. White America created aids to eliminate the black man? Please. Wright's about one rung up the evolutionary ladder from Rush Limbaugh. They're both haters. They may couch their animus in different language but they both trade in divisiveness. Of course Wright does a lot of good, and Limbaugh is big time charity donor in private.

We have a chance to take a real step, not just having a dialogue, in defeating rascism. But hell no, don't expect Rev. Wright to take a step back. Christ on a crutch, even the other hater in the lens "Rev." Hagee backed down on his "Catholicism is the whore of Babylon" sermon.

One thing Rev. Wright did illuminate. I often wondered why we haven't made progress in racial matters for at least 20 years. Well if your getting you dose of hatred every Sunday, it's no wonder.

As an Obama supporter, I say the following about Rev. Wright: his sermon, in words and behavior, sends out the subliminal message " I hate white people". And simply put, it its difficult for the most well intentioned white person not to feel that "if you hate me, I hate you back", and It's not fear it's anger.

I don't think any thinking person can look at Barack Obama and believe he shares Wright's views. But the right is draping his racial animus around Obama's shoulders and I wish it wasn't so. I dearly wish it wasn't so. posted 04/28/2008 at 08:47:27

Why Is It So Quiet After the Moyers-Wright Interview?

Aids? You just address what you want to. You don't address the issues that will lesson support for Obama. The closest thing to addressing those issues is Mike169. I disagree in that I think we've evolved in the last 50 years. And I don't think he reconciles that blood libel with a spiritual message from the pulpit. But at least he is tackling the issue of " whites created aids", without sidestepping and talking about how Wright is being maligned. posted 04/28/2008 at 17:57:21
