National Environmental Group Endorses Barack Obama for President

What, are they crazy? Maybe it's a fake environmentalist group. Obama wants to create new nuclear engergy plants! Obama voted for the Cheney energy bill in 2005; HRC shared environmentalists concerns and voted against.

BHO is no environmentalist. posted 05/03/2008 at 12:38:04

Is Obama Lincoln to Hillary's Seward?

Sen. Obama is no Lincoln. He won't even take up HIllary's invitation to join her in a series of debates modeled after the famous Lincoln-Douglas debates. What is Obama afraid of? The people of Indiana and North Carolina deserve to hear the candidates debate the issues. posted 04/28/2008 at 13:27:49

Pennsylvania Primary Helps John McCain

If Obama is the eventual Democratic nominee; then in the general election, the winner will be John McCain (bigtime). posted 04/23/2008 at 08:29:43

DNC Releases First Ad Against McCain

Was the country better off eight years ago?

Which part of the 90's did you not like -- the peace or the prosperity? balanced budget; huge surpus in the billions; average american incomes rose $7,000; millions pulled out of poverty, etc.

Sounds pretty good............ and who was president then? Let's return another Clinton to the White House. Sounds more than good to me! posted 04/20/2008 at 17:50:33

You Went Too Far Today Jane Smiley

Thank you, Kathleen Reerdon.

Jane Smiley is the one who herself sounds like a "craven shill." And speaking of Smiley: Obama's supporters have become so nasty, Tavis Smiley, after an onslaught of threats to his own family from O's "enthusiastic" people, has had to leave his work. Who said "I'm a Uniter; not a Divider"? posted 04/12/2008 at 20:56:40

On the San Francisco Olympic Torch Relay

Thank you, Speaker Pelosi, for all the good work you do; and thank you for speaking out for the Tibetans. I agree with you (and Gandhi) that peaceful and respectful protest is required for real success. Respect for all is much needed throughout the world. What a great surprise to find your personal post here. posted 04/08/2008 at 17:20:55

Much Much Less than Meets the Eye in Obama's Victories

It's the purple states.

HRC is much more popular in Ohio and Florida than BHO. posted 04/09/2008 at 09:35:05

Obama's America

Thank you so much, Taylor Marsh. The flag says it all.

The DNC inflicted this travesty on its own Democratic voters, and there will be hell to pay. posted 04/07/2008 at 09:07:35

From Tampa Tribune:
Obama Vows To Do What's Right
By WILLIAM MARCH and ELAINE SILVESTRINI

September 30, 2007

TAMPA - Barack Obama hinted during a Tampa fundraiser Sunday that if he's the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, he'll seat a Florida delegation at the party's national convention, despite national party sanctions prohibiting it.

Obama also appeared to violate a pledge he and the other leading candidates took by holding a brief news conference outside the fundraiser.

DNC bent the rule (11A) for the states of Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina. These states broke this same rule as FL and MI, but were not punished. posted 04/04/2008 at 19:30:50
The states of NH, IA, and SC all broke the same DNC rule (11A) as FL and MI. None of those states were punished.

And the voters themselves of FL and MI did not break any rules.

I hope your vote counts though. posted 04/04/2008 at 19:17:19
Florida Legislature (Repub-ruled) actually chose a new primary date that followed all the early primary states of IA, NH, SC, and NV. They chose a date that followed so FL would not encroach upon the early status of those states. The state of NH even put out a public statement that they were ok with Florida's new date because it still followed the 4 early states.

Also, btw, the states of IA, NH, and SC all broke that same rule (11A) as FL and MI. but received no punishment from the DNC. posted 04/04/2008 at 19:09:36
1. Florida Democratic voter turnout broke its all time record. no voter apathy there.

2. Obama himself took his name off the ballot in Michigan. It was his choice. Why doesn't he want a re-vote?

Millions of Democratic voters have been disenfranchised because of the stupidity of the DNC.

I hope your vote counts though. posted 04/04/2008 at 18:58:27
Why on earth didn't Dean resolve this before the primaries even started? If he had, all Dems would have cast their votes like normal, without all this insanity. Dean is so lacking in leadership, it's downright pathetic. He's let this drag out because that plays into his (and Brazille's) favorite candidate. No wonder the Obama people were applauding him. They may get their nominee through their devious ways, but the end rsult will just benefit the Republicans. The Dem Party is on its way to losing an election that should have been a landslide. Maybe Dean was bought off by Karl Rove -- only Rove could have masterminded this one.

Why is Dean even still at the DNC at this point.? He's passing the buck, showing no leadership, and has royally screwed up this election. He ought to go back to the green hills of Vermont and re-open his medial paractice. posted 04/04/2008 at 16:14:25

McCain Booed At Martin Luther King Speech: Watch The Video

damned if you do; damned if you don't.

If he didn't make an appearance, he would have been trashed. He does make an appearance and he's booed. (probably O supporters; they're pretty rude and disrespectful -- they booed Rep. Shirley Lee Jackson recently too.)

Odd for me to be defending McCain since I'm a socialist-leaning Democrat, but the loonie wingnuts are getting pretty pathetic now on both sides. posted 04/04/2008 at 13:43:38

Why Women Like Me Support Hillary (One Story from the "High-Heeled Militia")

So, Sen, Obama's campaign held the fundraiser at the sub-primer lender Credit Suisse's office building? But other people came too--not just Credit Suisse employees?!

Well, Sen. Obama certainly showed poor judgment in choosing Credit Suisse for the location of the fundraiser. (I never even said CS hosted it) posted 04/01/2008 at 15:39:03
Thank you so much for this excellent post and all the good work you are doing.

I read through the comments and was appalled at the disrespectful and nasty tone of many of them. Reminds me of the Obama groupies who had just booed Representative Sheila Jackson-Lee at a public event in Texas -- doesn't reflect well on the guy they're supporting. posted 04/01/2008 at 10:40:26

FYI: Obama is busy with his own campaign fundraisers -- recently had a fundraiser event at Credit Suisse, one of the top subprime underwriters.

(btw: The Obama campaign has received $1.8 million from the subprime industry -- and more money from the top ten subprime lenders than any other presidential candidate.) posted 04/01/2008 at 10:26:04
being upbeat about Hillary is "rather sad'? Your comment is actually rather sad. and speaking of star-struck groupies, they're all following their pied-piper Obama over a cliff. For the good of the party and the good of the country, when is Obama going to withdraw ? posted 04/01/2008 at 10:18:17

Could the Republicans Pick the Democratic Nominee? -- The Untold Story of How the GOP Rigged Florida and Michigan

Primaries are more democratic because they have a much larger voter turnout.. We have a primary here in New Hampshire and our turnout was over 50%. Next door neighbor Maine has a caucus and their turnout was under 5%. California (primary) had over 50%. Florida (primary) had over 40%. The only caucus state to get over 5% was Iowa, which had 16% turnout -- which is still very low compared to primary states. posted 03/31/2008 at 21:09:34
