How The Presidential Candidates Will Look In 4 Years: See Photos

So this is really news - someone playing with photoshop? First of all, Hillary will pop in for a bit more lift and her hair is not grey and probably never will be allowed to be. Secondly, Obama will probably not age as much although the Presidency can do that to anyone even someone with his wonderful bones. And McCain - well, he might be the closest to the photo, Presidency or not.

The important thing is what we all will look like with the Presidency of any one of them - who will work on the real issues and get us to work on the really important matters of taking care of this country and our responsibilities to the world at large. posted 04/28/2008 at 09:58:27

Clinton Aide: Obama's "Such A Copycat" For Appearing On Colbert

LOL! Hill has lost it. How pathetic. We teach our kids to be more cooperative socially than she has been for this last week especially. I remember Michelle Obama in California talking about not wanting to raise her daughters to be mean-spirited. Hillary is reaching new lows. Time to go.... posted 04/21/2008 at 12:23:54

Letter to Hillary: Remember When John McCain Slimed Your Daughter?

The problem is that she has said a lot of things...and then unsaid and undid them. It gives me neck pain to keep up with her. Who believes her on any point anymore? She will have to do the job up front with honesty and with plenty of scrutiny applied behind the scenes where she usually does her work or has it done for her. Let's hope she can measure up for a change - and for change. posted 04/17/2008 at 12:32:31

USA Today: Obama Is Surrounded By Lawyers From Lobbying Firms

You really need to read more posts at more sites. Perhaps you have not been around many older "Grandmas" and "Grandpas" lately? I'm speaking to you - and I'm not in a rocker I don't even own. Obama is exactly the person I want for my generation as well as the ones represented by my children, my grandchildren - and oh yeah, the great-grandbaby on the way. So get educated - this business of making it seems that anyone over 50 is incapacitated by ignorance and inability to understand what's going on is one more manufactured impression given life by the MSM. If you can't step up to get the truth, move over - a lot of us will fill in for you and we won't be behind our walkers! posted 04/16/2008 at 12:29:47

Clinton Heckled, Obama Cheered Over 'Bitter' Remarks

Bless that "Mute" button. When you don't even have to listen to know what she is saying, it's time to at least stop the assault on ears. Now if we could just get her to stop assaulting our hearts as well, we could get on with the dream we have of truth and justice with a person of judgment at the helm. posted 04/14/2008 at 19:05:49

Thomas Frank On Obama: Not That Controversial

Right on , Gala! I'm familiar with the area in which Obama was speaking - an area of great disparity in income and status and probably really needing the words he spoke to reach across that divide. Thanks for your insight. posted 04/14/2008 at 12:39:07
I can't imagine what this election run would have been without the internet! Oh we all engage in our own ways but no matter what happens in all of this, we have a much larger community online now than at the beginning of this very long road to November. I would also comment that Free Speech TV and programs such as Democracy Now and even Bill Moyers Journal have provided a lot of background for those who are willing to watch and have access to these educative resources. posted 04/14/2008 at 12:32:18
You make such an excellent point about the ripples of all these domestic and global economic failures. I am dumbfounded when people think that if we just wait, everything will be okay and that it's "other" people who are suffering for some reason of their own making! We are way past that point and this fight to make a difference is going to have to be personal for millions of people before we make that difference. How much more personal can it get than being able to provide shelter, food, medical care, education, and work for our families and our communities? posted 04/14/2008 at 12:25:04
Now if they could just find a way to feed their families and afford to get to work and have a doctor's care as needed and get decent education as schools close and teachers are given pink slips....ah, yes, rising above the fray. But rising against all odds comes of realizing that there are problems and ultimately moving to solve them at the core rather than reaching out for one more benefit from a system that has developed the lives of most of us into money pumps for the wealthy. posted 04/14/2008 at 12:18:22

Bill Clinton Flashback: "All These Economically Insecure White People...Are Scared To Death"

We should admit what? The truth? That people are quite bitterly disappointed in their gov't and in the treatment they are getting after years of brutally hard work and little return, a return that is now not enough to keep their families intact? Yes, they cling to faith as a way of dealing with what they find so difficult to understand and they cling to those guns in some cases to procur food as many of us learned to do in the days long gone when we raised our own food and caught our own food. Grow up. Face reality. We have little left with the economic systems in place in our own country and with the process of globalization controlled to provide income to the most weathy and powerful - hardly to the residents of PA or any other state in the Union. We have a lot to lose in this campaign - young people who see their futures slipping away unless they try to survive being fodder for war machines, etc. Bitter? Maybe. Ready to fight like hell for a better choice? You bet! posted 04/13/2008 at 20:05:53

Clinton Becomes A Gun Lover

How very bizarre - Hillary suddenly into guns. She definitely has misunderstood Obama's understanding of what guns mean in rural areas and she has obviously forgotten how stupid some previous hopefuls sounded and looked as they tried to explain how they were involved with guns. Good grief! Most people Hill's age fired guns as young people. I had a ball shooting tin cans with a BB gun and was thrilled to fire the rifle that my brothers used to hunt for rabbits that we ate. I've lived among people who use guns to secure venison and take out the beef that will be on our table. And I can't say these people "loved" their guns - t hey respected them, cared for them as tools. Hillary has no clue about real people in this country. I'm in my late sixties now and I would be embarrassed to brag that I shot ducks as a kid so someone would vote me into the Presidency. Sheesh! posted 04/13/2008 at 19:55:13

Clinton Campaign A Study In Missteps

Well it might be that playing as the lone ranger is more fun than being attacked from several sides at once in a field in which one of the players has a tendency to shoot the opposition in the back. I give Obama credit for doing a lot in his campaign (including managing it well!) but I think Hillary has been trudging uphill in her own camp with some severe injuries from having shot herself in the foot as well as endlessly being on the attack against the two other candidates, especially Obama. McCain will have his days of doom and gloom ahead if the Dems can finally dub someone a nominee. We'll see how he stands up. Being not too much younger than McCain, I have some doubt that he will be as bubbly in a few months. posted 04/09/2008 at 15:23:04
I think the photo with this article makes a very important point. All the make-up in the world is not covering the exhaustion of both Clinton and Obama that has been evident for weeks. This does not bode well for a Dem victory in a protracted race against each other while McCain skates around the world. What will be left in the personal energy coffers of either of the Dems if someone doesn't bow out gracefully very soon? This kind of worn look and mind-numbing depletion of energy leads to gaffes, to missteps, to an image that does not suggest the strength that both of these people have in other circumstances, personal political preferences for one or the other notwithstanding. This must end in the next three weeks or the party will have succeeded in keeping itself out of the White House once again. posted 04/09/2008 at 11:14:21

Obama Delegate Forced To Quit After Remark

Calling children "monkeys" was never in my vocabulary as a racist or angry or divisive term and I doubt that it is for anyone else. In fact, it is a rather affectionate term. When people are angry with children, they have a lot of other names to use. This is ridiculous. What next? This is obviously a way for the mother to take a nasty swipe at her neighbor and she got her way. Was she also being racist because the woman using the term is Hispanic? I can't believe the police responded! And I can't believe the press will do what they surely will do - blow up the silliness to news when people are dying in Iraq,Tibet, the Congo without mention or investigation or thoughtful coverage. posted 04/08/2008 at 12:46:10

Clinton Hospital Story May Actually Be True

Once again a Hillary story gets days of play because she didn't give us true facts to begin with, then the truth emerged, and then the spin of why it might have been true follows from the campaign weanies, and then we are left with a sense of "wondering" about anything she says - and what would it be like to have a President like this. Minimally, she should have had better judgment about the folks in her campaign? The woman in the story went to another hospital, had insurance at that time, and it is a manufactured myth that she could have been saved if she had had better care - that last part is only speculation at best and a disingenuous cover-up for sure. Sounds familiar - we've had enough of that. posted 04/08/2008 at 10:02:24

Hillary Clinton: We Are Living Through "George Bush's Recession"

Obama Advisor: 60,000 Troops Should Stay In Iraq Through 2010

Let's see how many people read the article before commenting. Anyone posting on HuffPo should know better than to use the headline as the substance of an article. What we have in Iraq is not a country with the same situations as existed in other parts of the world in which we have been occupying armies for so many years. We have not been in those countries for the peace of the world - we are there to position our troops, guard resources, etc. Are we going to sacrifice more of our children to guard the oil? And are we going to believe that they will be seen as a helpful occupying force when they have become so hated and caught between internal factions? Dream on. posted 04/04/2008 at 09:53:05

Obama Risks Alienating Clinton Women and Blue-Collar Supporters

This writer must be coming on to this election year scene very late in the game. I suggest a month of intensive study of intelligent pieces on the subject rather than parroting some of the MSM cuties (both female and male) who don't think beyond what the person in their mirrors says. Of course by that time we will be several more light years down the road with this process. Hillary's lack of honesty, her baiting, her reliance on victimhood first and foremost reflect some of the most important reasons that the rest of us women have had a hard time breaking through that glass ceiling. It's embarrassing especially when there are strong, honest, bright, confident, and talented women who are out in the world doing what Hillary is wanting to do but can't get done without sending her husband to bat for her or buying time and the voters good will with little to offer in exchange. A woman in the job, yes; this woman, no. posted 04/02/2008 at 15:36:17

Could the Republicans Pick the Democratic Nominee? -- The Untold Story of How the GOP Rigged Florida and Michigan

So let's see. The debacle in these two states was a Republican effort to undermine the Dems in this election. And let's see, everyone agreed to the price to be paid - at least those who had any say in this within the Democratic Party. And then we see that it's the fault of Obama? Huh? And Hill who can't pay her bills is going to sacrifice to buy a rerun? (Wonder why.)

Obama Win Appears Big In Texas Delegate Battle

Ho wmany of us spend so many years trying to teach our kids that actions have consequences and you ought to take them when you have made a mistake? Now we want a candidate and two whole states to waffle on that rule of thumb because now they are unhappy? If the folks in Michigan and Florida don't like the way it went down, they should take it out on the folks that paraded that option to them to oppose the Party. Unfortunately, they should have to prove that they were taken for a long ride in that process before being considered for a redress of their current grievances. Obama will undoubtedly suggest those delegates get seated but let's do it fairly and at the right time. This was a good lesson in looking closely at who runs the party of your choice in any state you live in. posted 03/31/2008 at 15:18:29

If you want to see what kind of "INTERVENTION" that Hillary is carrying on as we all write, check in at Daily Kos and see what she is doing along with Dem Party help in TX to change the vote of the thousands of people who properly voted weeks ago! This is disgusting and anyone in a leadership position in the party that is not addressing this should be transitioned out of power immediately. We are having our votes stolen - that's how HRC purports to support the American people? She supports no one but herself and all those to whom she has promised her favors - and those are many and they do not have our best interests at heart.
