Bush Compares Obama To Nazi Appeasers

I refuse to sit on my ass and hope for it to play out that way though. Let's all work hard to make sure that it happens. This should be a landslide. posted 05/15/2008 at 16:33:18
That line made me cringe as well. Our relationship with Isreal only hurts us and we do nothing to mitigate the detriment that this alliance yields. posted 05/15/2008 at 16:27:44
I was somewhat comforted by the fact that the shots of the audience illustrate that the attendees were in the height of apathy. As much as we think this President is a dangerous lunatic, the rest of the world is even more convinced. They stopped buying his snake-oil long before most of us did (some of us never did). posted 05/15/2008 at 11:34:53
They are reasons...a deadly cocktail of blowback and religion.
Don't get me wrong though. You are right. We need to TALK!!! The diplomacy of shoot first, ask questions later has proven itself to be invariably perilous. posted 05/15/2008 at 11:31:03

Bush Asked If He Feels Sorry For Clinton

One of the greatest political speakers of the past 100 years does not excruciatingly fumble words. It may be a surprise to you and others but real answers don't fit into soundbites.
Precipitous downward trajectory? He hasn't been good at winning the moron vote. He will have to work on that. Please look at the demographics of the recent states and then write a more informed post next time. Obama's stock is most certainly going up. posted 05/14/2008 at 15:23:03

What did you do to encourage them to get off of their asses? More than voting ourselves, that is our civic duty - not to influence but to encourage. posted 05/12/2008 at 15:33:49
Barack Obama has demonstrated the power for good that this country is capable of by emphasizing individual responsibility, by championing civic duty and very importantly, admitting that this country has problems. These problems don't go away when ignored. Barack Obama wants to evaluate our critical issues and address them. The young people in this country want to help. It would be a sad thing if, one more time, the voices of the compassionate, freethinking, motivated, intelligent youth in this country would be stiffled again because the cynics, dogmatists, fearful and hateful win again. It is time for optomism and hard work. It is time for a President that embodies that optomism and asks us to do the same. posted 05/12/2008 at 15:21:58
Great post! Thank you
My first vote in this country was stripped away from me by the Supreme Court. Prior to and since then, the people of this country have been told to be quiet so this country can heal/move forward. Is that democracy? These last 8 years have produced a generation of young leaders in this country that don't feel like this country cares for their gifts, let alone seeks them out. In 2000, my friends and I joked about moving to Canada if Bush got elected. In the past year, my friends haven't been joking - moving abroad for employment opportunities or applying for MBA programs in Europe. We all love this country but don't feel that it loves us back. There is something wrong when a class of educated, compassionate, successful young people feel that they have to leave America to have their potential fulfilled. Isn't that why people come here? Just as many young people in their mid-twenties have switched jobs several times for better opportunities so are we also we free to move elsewhere for better opportunities. That is fine for the people who leave but where will this country be as a result? We have a lot of work ahead of us if we choose to stay but we need to pick the candidate that wants to do that work and is honest about what work needs to be done. posted 05/12/2008 at 15:16:16

Obama Campaign Launches "Vote For Change" Voter Registration Drive

What a beautiful thing to see. Everybody can ask, "What's so special about Obama?" all they want but the appropriate answer doesn't regard what is special about him but how special he challenges us to be. If the only change we see is Americans trying to bring this country back to greatness again then isn't that all we need? I can't wait to have government "representatives" that actually care to represent us and not their own preconceived goals. Exciting times!!! posted 05/11/2008 at 17:38:34

Big Rewards Await Clinton If She Ends Campaign Now

I don't want my Obama money going into her PERSONAL bank account!!! Let him pay the rest if that is common practice but that is all. She risked her money. That was her choice. Ooops... Obama needs everything he can get to win in Nov. posted 05/11/2008 at 18:12:46
Keep repeating the lie to make it true. Most of us aren't buying it and as Hillary admits, the rest aren't that smart. posted 05/11/2008 at 18:06:32

Another "The Hillary I Know"

Nice comment. If I had the power, I would give you a huffington post choice award.
As a fellow New Yorker who has voted for Clinton twice for Senator, I absolutely agree.
I even contributed to Clinton's campaign early.
The refusal to admit error with regards to the Iraq war vote and her continued pro-Neocon leaning descisions have made me reevaluate my opinion of her.
Obama told us that he would not play dirty from the beginning and he hasn't. In addition, it is easy to launch attacks that will induce well know knee-jerk reactions which Clinton has done. Obama has said that he wants to be honest and that he trusts our intellect to take the information he provides and come up with the right answer - a big assumption, of course - but one I respect him for. posted 05/10/2008 at 01:34:43

Penn Jillette Makes Hillary "White B*tch" Joke On MSNBC, Joe & Mika Condemn Him

After the way Hillary is conducting her campaign, how can you classify her any other way? I don't care if she is or isn't a bitch but who cares if Penn expresses his opinion.
I love how offended Mika was even though she let's Joe make her look like an incompetent little girl on a daily basis. Remember when her dad was interviewed on the show? Remember how much her dad and Joe belittled her? There was the real sexism. posted 05/06/2008 at 22:28:23
Olbermann doesn't have to like or agree with any "women-centric" topics. American Idol? Come on? He is really supposed to like American Idol to not be sexist? He enjoys sports and doesn't like that Ellen cries on her show over some personal drama. So what? posted 05/06/2008 at 22:23:51

Clinton Camp Says It Will Use The Nuclear Option

You seriously think that Hillary has a magic wand that she can wave and take us back to the 90's? I am sorry but if you think that not much has changed in the past 8 years and that the same old solutions work, you had better also break out some history books. Seriously, does everybody forget how powerful the innovation of the internet was in driving the prosperity of the 90's? Bill Clinton had almost nothing to do with it and Hillary deserves no credit for it. Unless you think "the next internet" will be invented only if Hillary gets elected, please stop using this deeply flawed arguement. posted 05/05/2008 at 01:43:49

So, You Want a Theocracy Now?

Excellent post! You nailed it!
As a card-carrying nonbeliever I say thank you for putting into words what I have been complaining to my friends about for some time. I am sure many American politicians don't believe in the fairy in the sky but they have to say that they do. Why? Believing in the absurd bestows some special leadership abilities upon a person? Nope... I want brains - not crazy.
As a huge Obama supporter I say thank you for asking for fairness. If the name Hagee is uttered, people scratch their heads. The hate that that man teaches is deplorable and inexcusable but nobody holds McCain accountable for accepting his endorsement. Hillary's group is no better but again, she gets a free ride.
The only thing I would add is that Obama is getting attacked on this front because there is no other front for which they can launch an attack. They have tried everything else and he has sailed through unscathed. His detractors know what the last resort is - appeal to the public's love affair with the supernatural. Undermine someone's religion and you win.
I fear for this country. Let's please remember that prosperity comes from intellect not hocus pocus. posted 04/29/2008 at 23:16:03

That "swing state" arguement is so weak because you are talking about "Dems" vs. "Dems", not "Dems" vs. "Reps". If we all banded together as Democrats and realized that ,as Democrats, we only vote for Democrats, then wouldn't we rather have a core Democratic national coalition that bands behind a candidate that has, hands-down, won states that no Democrat has ever won, isn't that the best option? posted 04/23/2008 at 03:20:48
