NBC anoints Fallon as Conan O'Brien successor

i personally love conan, and dave (i find dave's humor more subtle and sophisticated. i didn't like him when i was a kid but i've come to appreciate him as i've aged and conan has a quick off the cuff delivery. leno isn't funny and never has been. i don't know what you can call him but it's not a comic. furguson is alright. but thats about it. Hate fallon, i like kimmel but his monolog isn't funny, hate that trl guy. posted 05/11/2008 at 23:52:15

Starbucks Labeled "Slutbucks" By Christian Group Due To New Logo

BTW there was more to my post, at the begining but it got cut off. That logo is starbucks first, and was introduced cos of the pikes place coffee, pikes place being the boardwalk and fish market where starbucks first opened. I've been to that starbucks the original one, and it has ALWAYS used the original logo. that said the current logo is just a cropped and differently rendered version of the old one, so it's always been the same thing. so i don't understand why now all of a sudden it's taboo posted 05/10/2008 at 21:16:36
A simplified logo was introduced, hiding the siren's breasts under waves of hair, and that in turn was cropped and enlarged so the split in the siren's tail would no longer show. The only indication now that the female icon is a sea creature is in the wavy lines, which originally were part of the representation of the two tails. And yes, although the image is that of a split-tailed sea creature, it is a siren. More specifically, it is a double-tailed siren, a baubo siren, which The Woman's Dictionary of Symbols and Sacred Objects points out, is "a cross between a mermaid and a sheila-na-gig" and is found as a decorative motif in many European CHURCHES. "Her suggestive pose, like that of the sheila-na-gig, referred to female sexual mysteries in particular."

Hillary Clinton Support Among White Women Slipping In Pennsylvania

i couldn't agree more, i was just about to write that. she is in this race primarily, but not only because of the female vote. and the only reason she has it is because she is a woman. if any other candidate ran a campaign (on the democratic side) with such hypocrisy and lies as the clintons have they'd be dead. she has no character, really doesn't stand for anything. but people eat it up, because this country is full of conservative people (not politically but literally).

Obama: No Need For Foreign Policy Help From V.P.

To me, especially being bicultural myself, this has been a huge isssue and i'm surprised he hasn't spoken about it more. He's right, growing up and spending time in other countries is a huge asset in the political world today. I traveled a lot as a kid and I credit that with being a large part of my education. I see the world very differently than most of my friends. I also credit the lack of travel, by most americans a huge problem. America is an island, most americans only leave america to go to either romanticized european cities, or tropical destinations. They have no idea how the rest of the world is or how they live. If americans traveled more and saw these things this country would be so different.

When you really think about it Obama is the most American of the three of them. This guy is the modern representation of most people, who are bicultural, who did spend time in other countries. I've met lots of people who come from multiethnic backgrounds and cultures and lived in other counties and how that has shaped who they are today. This is the world now, it's truly global and knowing that, when most politicians don't know where half the countries are on the map, or who leads them is HUGE asset in my opinion, and something I really have always like about him. posted 04/07/2008 at 12:29:22

Clinton Says Obama Wants to Stop Votes

she must have a very low opinion of the intelligence of the american people. or she must have very low intelligence herself. She doesn't seem to know her audience, or her goals. She campaigns to democrats like their republicans, and she is behind in the race, meaning the people she has to win over are obamacans, and this is how she does it?? All she's doing is pandering to her supporters. She's not gaining ground, she's not making herself look good, she's not doing anything different than any other politician in the last 50 years and calls herself change. The world is divided into people that get it and people that don't unfortunately the former has always been the minority. And she most definately doesn't get it. She sounds more and more like an idiot everyday. i hear other people say she really is a good person, and part of me believes that, but if that is the case then she is running her campaign off of what she is advised to do rather than what she believes. And that makes her a very poor decision maker. posted 04/01/2008 at 10:03:41

Chelsea Clinton Asked About Monica Lewinsky Again, Watch Video

back the truck up you can't have it both ways if they/she doesn't want to answer these questions then they shouldn't make her campaign. the end. i'm not saying she's running, but she is a representative of her mother's campaign and that makes her vulernable to these questions, same as bill and michelle. posted 03/31/2008 at 21:40:40

Hooked on Hillary

well i don't know if all you guys read this but i said i wasn't talking about HIllary ok. Everyone wants to jump down everyone elses throat for a cheap applause. I'm taking about anyone, chris dodd, bill richardson, even people i like like ron paul. this really had nothing ot do with hillary, this is something i had been thinking about since the begining of the election, so why don' t you guys stay on the this issue.

SO i ask again, DO YOU or DO YOU NOT think it is ethical for ANYONE who is clearly not going to win (NOT talking about Clinton; and yes there are ppl that fall in that category every year, becuase 12 ppl run on each side and only two are chosen, so do the math) to take money from citizens that will be wasted. posted 04/01/2008 at 20:46:03
Well let me ask you guys this, and I'm not just speaking of Hillary, but do you think it's ethical for candidates that clearly aren't going to win, for example Huckabee, and Nader and the like, to continue to take donations from people? posted 03/31/2008 at 14:46:49

Hillary And Bill: We Aren't Going Anywhere

Great more bad news. Yea i used to have a good impression of the Clintons, I thought they were very good, but not GREAT, i reserve that for FDR. Anyway this whole campaign has completely soured them for me. (Almost like Nader is doing to his rep) Bill Clinton certainly is the icon for the democratic party. A jackass. It's about time they went away, becuase for a those that think Nader is a nuisance, spoiler, or roadblock to progress, instead of an icon for it, I don't see how the Clintons are any less. posted 03/28/2008 at 20:07:40

supporting your loyalties to your friends over making the right decision for the future of this country is the only act of betrayal i know. Richardson did a fine job, of a taking a position that was best for the nation, having the courage to do so, and a still maintaining his relationship with the clintons. And by the way, i know endorsements don't have the influence their meant to but, does it speak volumes that someone so close to the clintons and someone who also owes so much to them, would endorse obama, and doesn't it speak volumes that he isn't the first? posted 03/27/2008 at 22:49:33

Flashback: Wright's Letter To NYT About Obama

Amen, I'm with him. I see why Obama likes this man. Wright's problems aren't through what he says, but rather how he delivers it. He is telling the truth, and he shouldn't have to apologize for that because the media wants to scare everyone into their shell, through race and patriotism. And it about god damn time people started to stand up for what they believe, and what they know to be true without fear of criticism from the economic agenda of the amoral and dishonest, cowardly excuse for a media we have today. posted 03/28/2008 at 00:50:31
